Description
Improve ET's and low end torque. Are you looking to get more low end grunt off the line and lower ET's at the same time? Then look no further than installing a set of steeper gears in your Pony. This Ford Racing Ring and Pinion Gears are perfect for street, road, or race use. Complete Kit. This Ford Racing Gear and Installation Kit comes complete with all the components needed to swap out your ring and pinion gear. It includes Ring gear, Pinion gear, 1 bottle of Friction Modifier, 2 bottles of 75w90 Gear Oil, gaskets, seals, shims, bearings and all the required hardware.

Legendary Ford Racing Quality. When you're adding performance parts to your Pony, you can't go wrong by installing parts from the folks that know it best. Ford Racing's legendary quality ensures years of hassle-free use.

Recommended Upgrade. Changing the rear axle gear ratio will throw off the calibration of your Mustangs speedometer, but a Diablosport InTune Tuner or a Bama SF3/X3 Power Flash Tuner is a quick and easy way to fix this issue.

Attention 2010 and newer Mustang Owners. Starting in 2010 Ford changed the inner rear gear pinion bearing in all 8.8" equipped Mustangs. Because of this you will require a new 8.8" rear gear pinion bearing (Ford part# 9L3Z-4630-A) for proper installation, please see drop down option above.

Application. This Ford Racing 4.10 Rear Gear and Installation Kit is designed for use with 8.8in solid rear axle equipped Mustangs, including the 2005-2014 GT, Bullitt, BOSS, Shelby GT500 and 2011-2014 V6 models. Application Note: Does

not fit 2013-2014 Boss or Shelby GT500 Mustangs with axle codes S-215-D and S-219-D.

Technical Note. Installation costs will vary, but a good rule of thumb is between $250 and $300. Be sure to work with a reliable shop that you trust for installations. You can also save money on your installation labor by having your Trac-Lok rebuilt at the same time as your gears are installed, see drop down option above.

Great Performance - Kit is lagging

    August 26, 2013

Have a 2007 Shelby-GT Auto? Add this kit and a tune and your off to the races! Will throw your head back in the seat when you hit the gas. Worried about highway driving? Don't be, dove 230 miles with no problems and used 3/4 tank of gas. The only issue is with one of the bearings, it was .010 short verses an OEM bearing. I replaced it for $25.00 with an OEM to save re-shimming the gear set. Ford Racing should supply an OEM bearing with their kits. On the fence... Go for it... You will not be disappointed!

Theres the power i was looking for

    July 01, 2013

I had the 4:10 kit installed in my 2007 mustang. Im pushing 400+ hp at the wheels and still felt sluggish with the stock ratio. After the install i had nothing but smiles on my face. The car hooks up well in second gear on junk tites and the acceleration is incredible. When im at 70mph my rpms are running 2500 in 5th gear, but the gain in acceleration is well worth the the small amount of extra fuel you might be burning at high speeds. My shift points are also falling right into the boost range which makes for some neck breaking shifts. The kit came with everything needed to rebuild my differential, the shop i took the car to had it done within a day. Thank you AM.

    4.10 gears.

    July 22, 2013

Do not fear the gear. I have dropped my 0-60 by .4 seconds. From 4.2 to 3.8. And can use 6th gear in the streets now. Not to mention the stang is in her power band now. Street mileage has went up. And highway has went down. But I mostly drive street. So it really is a tie. But this was the best choice I have made!! She is a monster now!!

    Just get them

    July 18, 2013

Got my 4.10 gears about a month ago. Had a shop do the install for under $400. Since then I've loved every minute of driving. Launches are great, passing cars in 5th gear is easy. I really feel more power. Took my car on a 900 mile road trip and averaged 22 mpg. Buy them and don't look back, the best mod you can do.

    Don't fear 4.10 gears!

    July 01, 2013

I had an AIRAID CAI and Diablo tune completed on my GT convertible prior to adding 4.10 gears. (5-spd standard) The CAI and tuner helped, but biggest power increase from 4.10 gears. Leaps off the line now if you want it to but very easy and more fun to drive than ever! Thank you American Muscle for putting together this comprehensive gear kit. Top quality and worth the price!

Daily driver to a get away car

    October 18, 2013

Fits perfect i used the factory pinion shim and the factory carrier shims which gave me spot on pinion depth and backlash. My 2011 GT came with 3:31 rear gears and going to the 4:10 made it feel like a different car i was very impressed and at 60 mph my tach is roughly at 2100 rpms. If your not mechanically inclined i would recommend going to a shop.
