Custom Bama Tunes specific to your vehicle. When you order a tuner, you aren't just getting a tuner - you are getting the tuner and 3 dyno-tested custom Bama tunes:

  • Street (87-93 octane) - the street tune is designed as a daily driver program that focuses in on increasing mid-range power. It does give up a few HP at higher RPMs, but that's why there is a Performance file. Automatic vehicles are further enhanced by making adjustments to the transmission's shift points and firmness.
  • Performance (87-93 octane) - The Performance program is designed to add power at 3000 RPMs and higher, focusing more on the top end horsepower and all out performance driving. Timing, fuel and throttle response settings are slightly more aggressive than the street tune. This is a great track tune but also works well for daily drivers that are looking for a little more "get up and go" than the street tune. The automatic transmission settings are the same as in the street tune.
  • Race (91 - 93 octane) - The race tune will ensure the largest increase in vehicle performance. Using the highest grade of fuel available in your area is mandatory. This file is designed for "Race only Use" as the timing, fuel, and throttle response settings are very aggressive. in fact, the adjustments are so aggressive, that we do not recommend it for daily driving as it may cause your vehicle to try to jump out from a stop and easily spin the tires. Finally, with the automatics, we implement entirely new shift points and firmness settings to further enhance the all-out performance of the vehicle.

Nitrous (91-unleaded race gas) - Our nitrous option can be added to any of our previously mentioned tune options, but only for 91-octane unleaded fuel.

Easy to load; easy to restore. Not only are the custom tunes easy to load on your vehicle, it is just as easy to restore your factory settings. When you load your custom tune on the vehicle, the tuner automatically stores your vehicle's factory settings. To return the vehicle to its factory settings, just plug the tuner back in, select the option to restore the factory settings, and you're done.

Review & Install Video

I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and this is our acceleration pack bolt on build up for all 99-04 Mustang GTs. The focus of this pack is of course acceleration, but in order to accelerate faster you need traction, and lots of it. That’s why the majority of the parts used for our build today are focused on getting us off the line much quicker, ultimately resulting in faster acceleration. But before we go over all the parts we have in store for our 2000 GT here, let’s get it out of the shop and do a quick 0-60 baseline run, just to see where we stand now. Alright, before we go installing all of our parts for the acceleration pack, we’re going to do a baseline 0-60 run, using our iTSX wireless tuner and my iPad here, just to see where the car stands now, so hit start and here we go. Alright so it looks like we just clicked off a 6.66 0-60 time with our automatic 2000 GT, which is pretty average for this model car. Now we’re going to take our car back into the shop, talk a little bit more about some of the parts we have in store, and get them installed. Since traction is the theme of the day, what better way to get more of it, than by using a set of these NITTO NT555R Drag Radials, those large tread blocks paired with that real soft compound is going to give us a ton of grip both on the street and at the strip, and should really help our GT get off the line. To further help our GT hook we decided to go with some vital suspension components from QA1, starting with these box style rear lower control arms, these bars are a variation of the classic traction bar design, and basically help keep the rear axle from moving around under load, and especially on hard launches, eliminating any excessive wheel hop. We also decided to go with a set of these QA1 adjustable rear upper control arms, that are fully adjustable while still on the car. These are going to be key to adjusting our pinion angle which is not only important for traction, but also for driveline smoothness. These are really going to help firm up the rear end of the car, and eliminate any side to side sloppiness or wiggle, making the car track a lot straighter, and just making for an overall better driving experience. Moving away from our traction and getting into another big contributing factor to our acceleration, that’s right our gearing. From the factory, our automatic 2000 GT came with 3.27 gears, which is pretty weak for acceleration. That’s where these Ford Racing 4.10 gears come into play, simply put, that shorter gear ratio is going to help our car accelerate faster. Quite frankly, I’m quite anxious to see how it’s going to wake up our 2 valve motor. So now that you know what we have in store for our GT, we’re going to hand the car over to the crew and get everything installed, after they’re all done we’re going to take our GT back out on the street, just to see how it behaves on the road, and to see if we’ve improved on our 0-60 time. Alright so we’re out here on the street with our 2000 GT, we just had the acceleration pack installed by the guys back at the shop, and we’re just cruising, I mean the car is very mild mannered, we’re in overdrive, you’d never be able to tell there’s gears in the car, until you do a little squeeze on the throttle, and man does it go. It goes, it goes, and it hooks hard too. I mean we didn’t even have a chance to heat cycle the tires there and it just dead hooked on the street. Car is a little stiffer in the rear, that’s attributed to the stiffer bushings in both the QA1 lower and upper control arms, but that’s going to be a good thing, that’s going to help keep the car straight, going down the track, it’s also going to reduce our wheel hop as well, and overall just improve our acceleration. So now we’ve had the chance to drive the car around on the street a little bit, see how it reacts in everyday situations, we’re going to put it to the ultimate test, get it back to the shop, do a hard launch, and see if these parts work in lowering our 0-60 time. Alright, so we just finished up our second 0-60 run, and we just clicked off a 5.09 second 0-60, that’s over half a second off our baseline number, so it’s easy to see our acceleration pack is doing its job, and I’ve got to admit, those radials definitely helped us hook on the pavement. So that does it for the acceleration pack, be sure to check out our other 99-04 bolt on build ups where we make our GT handle a bit better, we give it some more power, and dress it up a little bit.

Whats the difference? What is the difference between this kit and the kit for 35 dollars?

  • This kit comes complete with everything you need for a full rebuild: bearings, shims, crush sleeve, etc... The $35 kit is a basic kit that is the same as the more expensive version, but there are no bearings included. We highly recommend getting the complete kit and replacing all your bearings and shims at the same time to prevent any costly problems down the road. It's better to replace them all at once, rather than having to tear the car apart again just for a bearing gone bad.

4.10 gears installation kit I recently purchased the 4.10 gears for my 2006 mustang GT and I'm not sure which installation kit I should buy !! Is this the right one !?!

  • Certainly is the correct kit! It will come with everything you need for a complete swap during your 4.10 gear install! Includes all the bearings, shims and seals necessary!

4.10 Gears/Shift Points on an Auto i had 4.10 gears put in, i want to know does the tune itself fix the spedometer? and also does my custom tune's change the shift points change for the gears ? or do i have to go about changing the shift points on my own

  • Within the tune, we will correct the shift points when notified of a gear change such as 4.10's and the speedometer will be fixed as well.

    OUTSTANDING.

    THE BAMA TUNER WORKED EXCELLENT I HAVE A 2001 MUSTANG GT AUTO WITH 4.10 GEARS AND WIDER TIRES A COUPLE BOLT ONS. FORD COULD NOT ADJUST THE GEAR RATIO CHANGE SO TUNING IT WAS MY ONLY OPTION. IT REALLY WOKE UP MY CAR IT SHIFTS HARD AND REVS HIGHER ASWELL MY SECOND GEAR UNDER NORMAL ACCELERATION WILL REV UP TO 4K RPM. IT SOUNDS WONDERFUL THE ONLY REASON I WONT GIVE IT 5 STARS IS BECAUSE I HAD A BIT OF TROUBLE SETTING UP THE PIDS FOR THE DEVICE, THAT SHOULD BE SOMETHING THAT IS PRE-INSTALLED IN THE TUNER BEFORE RECIEVING IT. OTHER THAN THAT IT WORKED GREAT..

    This tuner did exactly what it was supposed to do, tune my car. I bought a 2001 GT and the previous owner had started beefing it up a little (4:10 gears, TB,Intake,etc) but I wasn't sure what all had been done but I know it didn't run great. Ordered this tuner. the AmericanMuscle and Bama techs walked me through on how to give them the best info possible. I received the tuner with 2 custom tunes (87per-93rac) and I loaded the 87 octane performance tune on my car quickly and without any problems. It worked perfectly! Now I had to drive all over as to run out my gas so I could fill the tank with 93 octane and load my racing tune. Only problem at all is my speedo is still off about 7mph but all that requires is contacting Bama and they will email a new tune with the correct speedo settings. I highly recommend this tuner

    This 04 mustang was bone stock. The two simple modifications of adding the Bama X4 tuner and changing the gearing to 4/10 made it a much more aggressive and fun to drive car.

    Bama X4/SF4 - Well worth the cost!

    Simply put, I think the 99-04 GT's are underrated to begin with, but after flashing my factory ECU with the 91 octane performance tune my little pony showed what a true race horse she was meant to be. A very noticeable gain in power, I can only imagine what the 91 race tune is capable of..! The only other mods I had already in use was a CAI and flowmaster 40's and short throw shifter. American Muscle.. thanks!!

    Bama SF4 Tuner

    I was one of the many skeptics who weren't sure if this product was worth it or not. Now I can say I definitely should have bought this long ago. I've only used the 87 octane street tune and the performance is much better than before. Tire chirping shifts at WOT, I love it. I have an automatic, so the shift points and pressure were adjusted and it shifts nice and quickly. Under the hood I have a CAI, bigger TB and a bigger plenum, and now the ECU knows what to do with the extra air. I can't wait to test out the 93 octane race tune. Mpg aren't any better because I can't keep my foot off of the pedal, but smiles per gallon increased ten fold. I definitely recommend this product.

    Great Product

    I have recently updated my mustang with a Pypes catback exhaust,SR cold air intake and the BBK 78mm throttle body intake. I installed all of these in stages and felt a difference after each step then I installed the the 93 performance tune. Install time I would say was less than 5 minutes. I really feel like it tied it all together the car runs smooth throttle response is right there and helped with the sharpening the shifting in my automatic transmission. I would very much recommend this product to go with any upgrades now and in the future. setup was easy tunes were pre loaded when I received it and the communication with Bama has been excellent. Like others I debated about getting this reading and reading.... 100 Percent Glad I decided to purchase it.
