Benefits of a Staggered Setup:


• Gives your Mustang a classic look with that aggressive muscle car stance we all love.
• Wider rear tires give you superior traction on the street and at the track.



Drawbacks of a Staggered Setup


• You cannot fully rotate your tires in a staggered setup. Because you use different sized wheels/tires on the rear and front of your Mustang in order to achieve the staggered look, you can only rotate the rear wheels from the left to right side, and the front wheels from the left to right side.
• If you are concerned with being able to rotate them, however, you might want to choose to add Wheel Spacers instead of staggering your wheels/tires. Wheel Spacers give the appearance of a staggered setup.

The Foxbodies were not designed to accommodate large wheels and tires. We don’t recommend going any larger than a 17x9 with a 245/45-17 size tire on it. This will ensure that there will be no rubbing issues and no additional modifications will have to be done to the car.

It not only looks better, but having a wider tire on the car means more rubber making contact with the road. More tire contact = better traction = better performance and handling.

• Wheel spacers are used when trying to create a staggered look without purchasing a larger wheel and tire combo. Our wheel spacers are sold by the pair, and should only be used on the rear two wheels of your Mustang.
• Spacers allow you to achieve the staggered look that a wider rear wheel and tire combo will give you, but you will have the same size wheels in front and back.
• This will benefit you in two ways; it will allow you to rotate your wheels and tires regularly to ensure that the tires wear evenly, and it will save you the additional money that is necessary to buy two larger wheels and tires. With the additional savings, you can look into other modifications for your Stang!
