How to Install MAC Dual Exhaust Conversion Kit on your Mustang

Racer's Choice Cat-Back Exhaust System


Attention: The use of the factory muffler hanger and passenger side tip hanger from the GT will be needed to use the MAC Direct Tue FitĀ® Cat-Back System. Hangers are Not supplied by MAC.


1. Start by removing the stock cat back system from the factor Y-pipe and the hangers. Note: Spray some WD-40 onto the rubber hangers for easy removal.

2. Install the muffler hanger to the passenger side of the vehicle.

3. Install the tail pipe hanger (tip hanger) on the rear bumper frame rail on the passenger side of the vehicle.

4. Install the MAC Y-pipe to the factor Y-pipe using the stock nuts. Note: Only finger tighten the two y-pipes.

5. Install the MAC driver side muffler over the axle and slide into the rubber hangers. Repeat step 5 for the passenger side.

6. Attach the MAC mufflers to the MAC Y-pipe using the studs and nuts supplied in hardware kit. Adjust the MAC exhaust system for proper clearance.

7. Install the two down tubes to the over the axle section of the MAC system and hand tighten only. Note: Both of the down tubes are the same (no right & no left).

8. Install the two exhaust clamps onto the MAC tips and also install the hanger into the tips. Note: Do not tighten the screws for the slide hangers.

9. Install the MAC tips onto the MAC down tube and the rubber hangers.

10. Adjust and tighten the MAC muffler and Y-pipe section for the proper clearance over the axle.

11. Adjust and tighten the MAC down tubes and the tips and check all exhaust connections.

12. Start the vehicle and check for any leaks.
