Increased HP and torque. From the factory, the manufacturer programs their vehicles to cater to the needs of the daily driver, not the performance enthusiast. After loading the custom Bama Tune on a vehicle, even a bone stock, unmodified Mustang will realize noticeable gains in HP, Torque, and Fuel Economy.

Increase your mod's potential. Factory computer settings are calibrated for the original factory components. When making performance modifications, you need to recalibrate the vehicle's computer to realize the full potential that these modifications can achieve.

Free tunes for life! Every customer that purchases a tuner from AmericanMuscle is enrolled in the "Free tunes for life" program. Any time that you make additional mods to your vehicle, our team of SCT certified Bama Custom Tuners will create new tunes for you.

Custom Bama Tunes specific to your vehicle. When you order a tuner, you aren't just getting a tuner - you are getting the tuner and 2 dyno-tested custom Bama tunes:

  • Performance V2 (87-93 Octane) - The Performance Tune offers a seamless blend of power, performance and drive-ability. Improving the overall driving experience of your Mustang, the Bama Performance Tune improves vehicle acceleration, increases power throughout the entire RPM and improves throttle response with revised timing, fuel, and TiVCT maps. Automatic equipped vehicles offer an aggressive shifting map to provide more aggressive transmission settings. This tune is suggested for the aggressive daily driver that is looking for more "get up and go".

  • Race V2 (91-93 Octane, E85, Race Fuel) - The Race Tune is designed for maximum performance and ensures the largest increase in vehicle performance. Using the highest grade of fuel available in your area is mandatory as timing, TiVCT, fuel, and throttle response settings are very aggressive. Automatic transmission settings implement entirely new shift points, torque converter changes and firmness settings designed for Track use.

Nitrous (91, 93, E85, Race Fuel) - Our nitrous option can be added to any of our previously mentioned tune options, but only for 91, 93, E85, or Race Fuel.

Technical Note About Fuel. Use of E85 will require larger fuel injectors such as Injector Dynamics ID1300 or Ford Racing 47lb/hr Injectors. Unleaded race fuel can also be used, but Stoichiometric points must be supplied.

Easy to load; easy to restore. Not only are the custom tunes easy to load on your vehicle, it is just as easy to restore your factory settings. When you load your custom tune on the vehicle, the tuner automatically stores your vehicle's factory settings. To return the vehicle to its factory settings, just plug the tuner back in, select the option to restore the factory settings, and you're done.

How well does this work in the rain? My concern is that water would enter the engine considering the filter is uncovered. It's been raining a lot in my area, so I suppose my question is: does this need a bypass valve installed? If so, what valve would you recommend?

FoxPerformance

  • No it'll be fine, on my v8 I had an intake that didn't even have the black plastic surround on it and it sat right in front of the fan and radiator assembly and it was fine nor did that ever cross my mind.

does using the performance tune mean I have to switch to premium gas or can I continue using regular?

gooby09

  • We offer tuning for all grades of pump gas (87-93) so you can have tunes set-up for regular fuel. The only tune we restrict to running premium fuel is going to be our Race tune which needs to run 91 or 93 octane.

Review from Bama X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner w/ 2 Custom Tunes (11-14 V6)

Bama tune makes my 2014 come alive

I was disappointed with the performance of my 2014 V6 Mustang. It was sluggish and didn't seem to have the 305 horse power it was rated at. I bought the SCT X4 tuner from Americanmuscle They installed two tunes on it, (Performance and Race), I chose the latter. My mustangs driveability became 100 better. More instant power and my automatic transmission picked its ratios better. I would recommend this to anyone who would like better performance.

Great Tool and Necessity for Performance

At first, thought the price was a little high so I waited. After I bought it and tried out many if the tune options available, I felt it was completely worth it. It also reads and clears engine codes. It's a great tool that I would suggest to anyone. I also noticed significant performance and efficiency gains.

Review from Airaid Cold Air Intake - Synthaflow Oiled Filter (11-14 V6)

    Not very impressed

American Muscle reps are friendly and professional and I will do business with them. On this particular product easy install but I did not experience any positive results. I only heard a huge roar from the motor at about 35-4000 rpms. I got on it before and after no real difference. As my daily driver I was looking for a little more fun and some gas mileage increase "none". Maybe Airaid is the problem and other CAI's are better, but according to the rep this was the one.....buyer beware..I will look into other was to vamp up my "pony". BTW I have been working on cars for over 40 years, so this is not a novice talking.

Review from Bama X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner w/ 2 Custom Tunes (11-14 V6)

Best mod I have, hands down.

This is by far the best mod I have on my car. I have an Intake, Off road x-pipe, and magnaflow street axle backs. I have a 14 V6 automatic and the throttle response that I was looking for is what I got. Snappier shifts, way more smoother on the low end and more torque also on the low end. I wish that I had gotten this as my first mod but oh well, I'm happy now. Highly recommended it to anyone considering. This tune will turn your car into a whole different animal.

    My car is alive

Brings the car to life literally. If you ever wanted to exploit the true power in your pony this is the thing for you. The performance tune is nice for fuel economy, but theres a drastic difference in the car with a race tune. Strap in your seatbelt to notice an immediate difference in throttle response the second you step on the gas. Worth every penny!

Review from Airaid Cold Air Intake - Synthaflow Oiled Filter (11-14 V6)

    Pretty good, but one note

Bought this with the Bama tuner kit. I do not know how much performance or gas mileage there is on this intake alone as I installed it with a bunch of other parts, but it does seem to work well. One thing though: One of the other parts I bought was a BBK throttle body which is a bit larger than stock. When I went to install this intake, I discovered that the rubber coupling that connects the intake tube to the throttle body was too small. I had to spend about half an hour modifying the rubber coupling (cut away some of the inside wall at the throttle body end of it) and I was eventually able to get it on. It would have been nice if there was some sort of warning I would run into this problem or if they included a larger coupling as well.

Review from Airaid Cold Air Intake - Synthaflow Oiled Filter (11-14 V6)

    Awesome Beginning Mod!

After having a cold air intake on my last car and not seeing anything or really hearing anything, I was a little skeptic about buying one. So after reading enough about this intake and listening to sound clips on YouTube, I went ahead and ordered it. Install was a breeze and shouldn't take you longer than 15 mins. True, it's a tight fit, but just use a little spit and it goes right on. Just shows you it's not planning on going anywhere. Yes, you will need to use the rubber grommet on the stock air box with the Airaid box, and also disconnect the battery before you do this. It allows the MAF sensor to read the new info of air coming in. Once installed, I was amazed by how it sounded. It was almost like being in a stock GT! The performance gains are incredible. Fast throttle response and really pulls after 2nd. All in all, I highly recommend this Intake System. Best sound, gain, and price! Thanks AM and Airaid!

    Great Product

I'm very impressed with the engineering of this product. It fits the factory cold air inlet and filter box location perfect. Installation is a breeze 15-30 min. The intake sound when you nail it is awsome! You also get a very nice growl at the upper rpm's at 3/4 throttle. A very slight increase at normal driving. The added HP's and looks are a bonus. I highly recommend the AirAid CAI great product at a great price.

Review from Airaid Cold Air Intake - Synthaflow Oiled Filter (11-14 V6)

    Excellent Intake!

After a lot of research I decided to with the Airaid, and it is worth every penny in performance gains, but more importantly it is worth the money for the sound that is unleashed with this intake. I would have bought it just for the sound of the intake itself. The car actually sounds similar to the GT from inside the cab with the roar this intake produces. The instillation was a breeze, and only took 25 minutes to install by myself. I've read reviews that said you could use a second pair of hands to install the intake, but that is simply not the case. My instillation time includes removing the stock intake. The best tip I can give when installing any intake, is leave all couplings and bolts loose and when everything is in place tighten everything up. I also placed the rubber boot for the throttle body in front of a heater to loosen it up a bit before trying to install it on the car, which helped get the boot over the throttle body because the boot was softer. I did not tune the car after instillation and if I keep my foot out of it, which is even harder now, I routinely achieve 33-35 MPG at 65mph. This is up from the 32-33 MPG at the same speed before the CAI. I sell Fords for a living and I recommend American Muscle and the Airaid CAI as well as the other modifications I have installed from American Muscle to every customer who purchases a Ford Mustang! I have actually taken customers out in my 2012 Performance Package V6 Mustang just to show off the intake. Its just one of the ways I can pay American Muscle back for the excellent customer service and fast shipping they have provided on both purchases. There will be many more modifications to come! Thank you American Muscle!!

Review from Airaid Cold Air Intake - Synthaflow Oiled Filter (11-14 V6)

    Top Notch CAI!!

This Airaid CAI is one of my favorite mods that I have done to my 2012 Mustang V6, let me tell you why. 1. The fit of this CAI is superb, it looks and feels like it should have been in the engine bay straight from Ford's factory. 2. The materials used are top notch - doesn't feel cheap, its made from solid materials. 3. Installation took less than 1hr to complete with basic hand-tools and was very simple (If you are not mechanically inclined you need not worry. As the provided instructions pretty much lay everything out for you plain as day). 4. I have a manual transmission and personally second to fourth gear is where you really can hear this CAI growl. Although you will see an overall volume increase across the board. Also my throttle response seems better after switching to this CAI~I've owned this product for 5 months now and I have no complaints. If you are looking at getting a CAI for the 2011+ Mustang V6, look no further this Airaid CAI rocks!! Also no tune required which is nice for those of you not wanting to risk voiding the warranty of the vehicle. If that's a concern...

    excellent!

Improved throttle response, noticable power gain and a very nice growl when accelerating. It's quiet under normal driving, which is what I wanted but has a nice throaty roar between 2500 and 5000 revs. Can't say if gas mileage has improved but then again if that was a concern I would have bought a Fiesta!

    Great sound, Noticeable acceleration increase

The sound this CAI makes under medium acceleration is absolutely fantastic, you won't be disappointed. It's a low growl and sounds exactly how a muscle car should. Flooring it is also a much better experience; the CAI screams and is backed up by the acceleration increase. Definitely a head turner. Also I wanted to give a shout out to AIRAIDS customer service, I accidentally ripped the 5/8 grommet, gave them a call and they immediately shipped me a new one, no questions asked. (be careful, make sure it's fully seated on the inside).

CAI a must upgrade for your Mustang!

Read many reviews on CAI and finally decided to get one for my Mustang. Easy install with the exception that its a tight fit and that is what made the install about 45 mins, if not probably 20 min to install. You can feel the improvement in horsepower and torque produced by the cold air. In terms of GPM improvement I have not seen any, but of course this due to the fact that I can avoid putting the pedal to the metal. For any Mustang owner this Air Aid CIA is a must. Highly recommended.

    Airaid CAI

This is a great intake. The engine really roars when you put the pedal down. Also, you can really feel the extra power this CAI adds. This took only about 45 minutes to install the CAI. It wouldn't of taken that long but the CA tube is such a tignt fit, it was hard the get the hose on the throttle body. I only bought K&N CAI's for my last 2 mustangs, but i couldn't wait any longer for them to make one. I am deffinatly a fan of Airaid now.

    Airaid Beast

This intake is awesome! The install was really easy, you really have to take your time and make sure you install the throttle coupler first into the throttle body then the intake tube because it's a damn tight fit. And you're going to need a hex wrench to tighten the Airaid supplied screws to tighten the MAF sensor. The torx screwdriver ONLY removes the factory screws holding the MAF sensor. Other than that I couldn't be any happier with this CAI, thank you AM for this great product. When you combine this with the BAMA race or performance tune it transforms your V6 like no other! My stang pulls hard at 3000 rpm to, YOU WON'T REGRET this purchase trust me.

Review from Airaid Cold Air Intake - Synthaflow Oiled Filter (11-14 V6)

    Quiet, Yet Loud as He**

This product is extremely well made, it fits perfectly in the engine compartment, it is easiest with 2 people (4 hands). Its not impossible but its a tight squeeze. Simple install, great instructions. For me, the install took about an hour by myself. This intake is quiet when driving at cruising speed. Push the pedal down and you get rewarded with a growl and power. Turning heads left and right with this Cold Air Intake installed. Like other people, note you will need additional tools to put this together but if you are handy you will have most of the tools you need on hand.

Review from Bama X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner w/ 2 Custom Tunes (11-14 V6)

wish I would have got it when i bought the car new!

ok, like many others I was hesitant on purchasing the tuner,....I wasn't sure if it would make much difference,... would you actually notice a difference?, would it be worth it for whatever minimal gains? my car is a 2011 v6 convertible with an automatic and GT500 take off mufflers. I read all the reviews ,etc.. finally bit the bullet and decided to give it a shot after debating on it a year. I was hoping to at least pick up some of the torque that I felt had been lost after changing the exhaust to the axle backs, and if I could pick up some mpg that would be a bonus. I had also read about the improved shifting and thought that would be nice as well, if it would indeed clean it up. I didn't want to write a review until I'd had a chance to try a couple of the tunes and go thru at least several tanks of gas, doing my normal back and forth drives, and a few weekend trips.to get a real idea on mileage and drivability. so, on to my impressions- I first loaded the 89 street tune with the eliminated skip shift. went to run a few errands and give the car a chance to warm to normal temp. the 1st thing I noticed was vastly different shifting. the shifts were clean and noticeably precise over the stock feel. on this improvement alone, the tuner would be worth a look. the tuner enhanced the low end torque where the V6 mustang needs it, I think it was pretty happy to rev without assistance, but until you got it in the meat of the power band, it wasn't as snappy. now with the tune..... hold on. it really will toss you back into the seat and try to jump sideways! the majority of my driving it from off idle to maybe 3500 if that. I'm not a kid romping it every stop light, albeit a 50 year old kid maybe with this tune in... even out on the highway passing, it drops down and goes. seemingly no shortage throughout the power band now. as for mileage,...sure, you could possible squeak out a little more 1-2 mpg if you can behave yourself, don't look for it in town driving. my mileage has changed slightly to another 20-30 miles per tank. not tremendous, but decent for the way you'll find yourself wanting to "play" more. Next I loaded the 89 performance tune,.....honestly I couldn't wait to go back to the street tune, but I gave it a full tank to be sure of my impressions. it didn't have the same feel down low, and really wasn't that impressive higher in the revs, at least to me. I may try it again sometime just to see, although you do feel more pull on the highway/interstate when you hammer it,and it seems to hold in whatever gear a bit longer. overall- it's definitely worth buying if just for the improvement in drivability. if your buying for mileage alone, don't bother, if you want to increase the fun factor- buy it yesterday!

Review from Airaid Cold Air Intake - Synthaflow Oiled Filter (11-14 V6)

    Give your pony a snarl

So for a quick background, this is my second Mustang. My first was an '09 manual GT. Then I committed two unpardonable sins: I traded it in for a *gasp* automatic *double gasp* V6. Don't judge me. We all love Mustangs, right? My GT was completely stock under the hood, though I had always fiddled with the idea of installing a CAI. After doing a little homework, I decided to make this my first mod on my new car. In fact I bought the intake before I even bought the car. I'll base the review based on the star form for the review: Performance Gain: I have no intention of doing any dyno testing to confirm/deny my statements. My first post-installation test drive felt different, but I thought it was just placebo and the sudden on-set of lead-foot syndrome in my right foot. Over the past few days, it still feels like the car has a little more pull and response. Nothing to freak out over, but I didn't expect a huge change anyway Fit: This has been stated in virtually every review written, but there's a reason: it's true. This thing is a little ***** to install. I'm not tech savvy by any stretch of the imagination; plugging in my computer is a moral victory for me. That said, installation is extremely easy conceptually, but very frustrating in it's execution. Everything is extremely snug which is a good thing for the final product, but not so good when trying to get it in. You will shed many tears and supplications, but when you finally get the thing in there you'll feel like a unicorn farting a rainbow. Bang for Your Buck: I instantly fell in love with my new V6, but there was one thing I really missed, and that was the rumble of a V8. Now I can't say I really miss that anymore as this thing now roars in a manner that would intimidate my old (stock) V8. The purists will scoff at that, but I'm happy with the result so sue me...actually don't, please. There's just something very satisfying about pressing the accelerator and literally feeling the roar the engine. Makes me harken back to my V8 days. I didn't think the cute little V6 had it in her. All in all, if your expectations are realistic (i.e. this thing won't turn your car into a GT500) and you want to make a change without spending big money, it's a worthwhile purchase.
