Easy install, fits well. I can hear the whistle but I've only noticed about 1mpg more...I drive in the city a lot.

I know it says stock throttle body, but will this work with BBK 62mm throttle body?? Thanks!!

Mike625 Year: 2006 Model: GT

Question Resolved
Good Question (0) (1)
  • The stock throttle body and the BBK throttle body have a different bore size: BBK 62mm and stock 55mm. Therefore, this spacer will only work properly with the stock throttle body.

Will this Airaid spacer work with a BBK after market cold air intake??

  • Yes, but it tightens up everything since the spacer puts the CAI out of normal alignment.

Good fit and a bit of noticeable pickup

    July 18, 2013

After reading the reviews and looking for a little gain in mpg and throttle response, I figured I would give this throttle body a try. Bolting it on was easy and the instructions were just detailed enough to make this a snap. I really have not driven the car much since adding the throttle body and just got done modifying the plenum cover to fit now that it is on. When accelerating I do hear a whistle sound, which I guess is kinda cool. I do not expect this $100 part to snap my neck, but it does seem to give the pedal a little quicker response.

    WOW!!

    July 06, 2012

I heard from a couple people that a throttle body spacer is a pointless upgrade, but after reading many reviews I decided to try this one out, install was very simple, some mustangs come with the intake manifold cover and after the install of the TBS it will not fit, unless you modify it slightly, (not to difficult at all!) the 'whistle' of the spacer is amazing! It will never get old! I love this product already! Thanks again American Muscle!!

    Slight difference

    June 24, 2012

Install was quick and easy on this. I was worried my AirAid CAI would be an issue since the throttle body is extended forward. But, all I had to do was remove the coolant bottle and that made it much easier. I notice a slight difference in response. I don't hear much of a "whistle" like the ad mentions. I have a custom tune so that may need to be tweeked to feel full potential.

    can hear the whistle

    November 02, 2012

i like how it fits and looks on my 08 stang but the only problem i have is that my beauty cover ( which comes stock on 08,09 stangs) doesnt fit after you install the spacer. gonna have to cut the cover to make it fit. wish i would have known this before i bought it. i can hear the "whistle" noise it claims to make and sounds great.

    throttle body spacer

    June 29, 2012

This a a very simple and easy install. It took me less than 30 minutes. I noticed a slight power gain and noticed better fuel efficiency as well. The look of the spacer also adds a stylish touch under the hood.

    Great new product

    June 26, 2012

I bought this spacer with a CAI and installed them together so I didn't get to see just this product's gain. However, this makes the car's intake sound awesome and I'm sure it helped performance by 5-10 horses.

    mild power mod with flair

    June 01, 2014

Installation quick tips: -Clean your throttle body while you've got it off the car! Mine was filthy after 60k miles. I sprayed it down with throttle body cleaner from the auto parts store and wiped off all the black gunk. -When removing the lower two studs from the manifold you're basically using the nuts that you removed as leverage to unscrew the studs. the instructions confused me slightly on this. just crank the two nuts together on a single stud, then unscrew the stud from the manifold like the instructions state. -Face the Carb E.O. number up when installing the spacer so it avoids confusion on your next SMOG test. Anyway, onto the review I put this on my 2008 Bullitt out of mere curiosity. While I can't say for sure what sort of real world numbers this adds in HP/Torque it forced me to take off my throttle body and realize how filthy it really was. I cleaned it out and installed the spacer within about an hour. After cleaning the TB and installing the spacer, the car starts and idles much smoother. Throttle response is improved (probably because of the clean TB) and if you listen closely you can hear the "whine" sound between 1,000 - 2,500 RPM. Its tough to hear if you have any exhaust mods (i'm running the Ford Racing FR500S Axle backs and cant hear the whine hardly at all). The product itself looks great under the hood, just make sure you install the spacer with the E.O. number facing up and apply the CARB sticker somewhere visible to avoid any SMOG hassles at your next check.
