Install Time: Less than 1 hour

Required Tools:

 Flat blade screw driver
 ratchet
 8mm socket
 10mm socket
 Needle nose pliers or Channel locks
 Razor blade
 2 small cable ties or electrical tape

Please Note: Installation of this product should be done in a clean environment free of dirt, dust, debris, and contaminants.

1. Make sure Ignition is turned to the off position then disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Now remove the breather tube from the intake tube. Push up and to the left on the gray tab on the breather tube connection to unlock. While pressing pull the connection off of the intake tube (as shown below.)

3. Now cut the tape holding the second breather tube to the plastic mount located on top of the throttle body (as shown below.)

4. Now remove the first squeeze clamp on the second breather tube with needle nose pliers or channel locks (as shown below.) Slide the clamp off of the hose and over the breather tube. You can now pull the tube out of the hose.

5. With the 2nd breather tube out you can now remove the other squeeze clamp and remove hose from 90 degree fitting, set the hose and 2 clamps aside as they will not be reused.

6. You can now remove the intake tube by removing the hose clamps at the throttle body and at the air box with a flat blade screwdriver and set in a safe place where no dust dirt or other contaminates can get inside.

7. You should now check the condition of the air filter and replace accordingly.

8. With the intake tube now removed do a quick inspection of the throttle body for cleanliness (as shown below).

9. If the throttle body is dirty, proper care should be taken to restore it to factory cleanliness as this will hinder performance and fuel economy.

10. Now you can remove the four bolts holding the throttle body using a ratchet and 8mm socket.

11. (Pay attention to how tight these bolts are when removing so you have an idea of how tight to make them during reassembly).

12. After bolts are removed set throttle body on a rag and let it rest on the top of the engine, taking care to keep throttle body and intake manifold clean.

13. You can now preinstall the washers on the four bolts supplied with the kit.

14. Now take the new bolts and washers supplied with the kit and slide them through the throttle body, then take the gasket supplied with the kit and slide it over the bolts.

15. Proceed by installing the PowerAid spacer ensuring that the arrow with the word “flow” is facing toward the intake manifold.

16. Now install the entire assembly onto the intake manifold (as seen below.)

17. Start threading the top 2 bolts by hand. After they are in a few threads do the same for the bottom 2 bolts.

18. After all bolts are started, take a 10 mm socket and hand tighten all bolts until snug (as shown below). Now proceed by tightening them in an “ X” pattern with a ratchet. (Remembering how tight the old bolts were during disassembly).

19. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THESE BOLTS as the intake manifold is plastic. These bolts only have to be snugged with a small ratchet.

20. You can now install the piece of 3/8” x 2-3/4” rubber hose supplied with the kit. Slip the hose onto the 90 degree fitting. Now take the 2 speed clamps supplied with the kit and slide them onto the hose.

21. Proceed by sliding the breather tube back into the new hose and tighten down speed clamps lightly with a pair of pliers just until you can barely spin the clamps on the hose by hand.

22. Now take the 2 small cable ties that you supplied and refasten the breather tube to the plastic bracket located in the top of the throttle body, and remove excess cable tie after it is tight (as shown below).

Note: If you do not have cable ties you can use electrical tape as this is what was used from the factory.

23. You can now reinstall the intake tube by sliding it onto the throttle body first and then onto the air box.

24. You can now refasten hose clamps and reinstall breather tub into intake tube fitting by sliding it onto the fitting until you hear it “click.” Ensure that it is locked by giving a small tug on the tube.

25. Installation of the Airaid PowerAid throttle body spacer is now complete. You can now reinstall the negative battery terminal and start enjoying the new gains in Horsepower, Torque, and Fuel Economy.
