Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com, and this is my review of the American Racing Headers three inch Pure Thunder Catback Exhaust with an H-pipe for 2015 to 2016 Fastback GTs. I'm actually really excited about this Catback. First of all, it's a three inch system that's going to upgrade you from the two and a half inch that you probably currently have. Second, it's stainless steel. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I always put stainless steel on my Mustangs. I won't settle for anything else. Third, and by far the most important factor in my opinion, and probably yours as well, is the sound that this thing provides. When the guys installed it here and fired up the car for the first time, I was relieved to hear such a very deep note that pretty much vibrated the walls. So how does American Racing Headers get that type of sound? Well, it's a combination of a few things. They included the Pure Thunder series chambered mufflers, which is the main culprit, but you also have to remember this H-pipe. The H-pipe is what's going to give you that deeper, richer note, while X-pipes are delivering the raspier sounds. Now personally, I tend to like the deeper sounding exhausts, but it's all a matter of opinion and depends on what you're looking for at the end of the day. On a loudness scale, I'd probably call this a solid three or a four. Another reason why I'm really digging this Catback is because from moment we pulled it out of the box it reminded me of the Corsa stuff, but with a slightly lower price point. We're talking about a bit of a game changer status here, and exhausts that are at the top of the food chain. At this point, exhausts for the 2015 are basically an investment so you really want to make sure that you understand what you're investing in, and make sure that you're getting the best bang for your buck. Well I think this product fits that bill. Just look at the quality here. This system is impressive. Look at the welds, and remember factors like stainless steel, three inch all the way back, so four inch polished stainless steel tips, and I always like to point out when something's made in the USA like this product here is. When we start to think about the install, luckily the new S550s have a little thing called an independent rear suspension, which just so happens to make things like a Catback install a pretty easy task, making this one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You should have no issues bolting this thing up and hitting the road within an hour or two tops. A friendly reminder that this system will only fit your Fastback GT. Once again, I'm really into the American Racing Headers Pure Thunder Catback, here, and for more than one reason. But as always, check this out online, talk about it with others, form your own opinion. I'm Stephanie and I'll see you next time at AmericanMuscle.com.
