    Description

Smooth Tone Without the Drone. Increase the exhaust note to your GT Mustang, without any of the irritating drone commonly associated with performance exhaust systems, with a AWE Touring Edition Axle-Back. This system employs a pair of straight-through Touring resonators, that feature 180 Technology®, that replace the restrictive factory mufflers to create a smooth muscle car tone with zero drone.

Performance and Power. Featuring a clean, non-baffled, straight-through design the AWE Touring Axle-Back not only improves the sound of your GT Mustang, but it will also improve its performance. By reducing back pressure and giving your GT a free-flowing exhaust, you will see increases in both horsepower and torque. AWE has seen gains of 8 hp and 18 ft-lbs of torque to the crank.

180 Technology®. AWE designed their Touring resonators using their own proprietary 180 Technology® to give your Mustang a smooth muscle car tone without annoying interior cabin drone. As exhaust gases flow through a AWE 180 Technology® equipped Touring resonator, they pass through strategically located ports, and into reflection chambers. Sound waves, carried by these exhaust gasses, bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. Restricting the size and location of these ports and chambers, will control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a 180 degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies.

T304 Stainless Steel Construction. AWE proudly engineers, designs, and manufactures their Axle-Backs in-house, in the good old USA. This exhaust system is handcrafted from U.S.-sourced CNC mandrel-bent 0.65” wall T304 stainless steel tubing for superior strength and corrosion resistance. The system features two straight-through resonators that end with diamond black 4" double walled, slash cut exhaust tips.

Cut & Clamp Installation. The installation of this AWE Touring Axle-Back Exhaust requires cutting and removing the stock muffler assemblies. The new muffler assemblies will clamp in place of the old. Clamps and instructions are provided.

Application. This AWE Stainless Steel Touring Edition Axle-Back Exhaust is designed to fit all 2015-2017 GT Mustangs equipped with the 5.0L 4V coyote engine including Fastback and Convertible models.
