Description
More Horsepower And Torque. Replace that restrictive stock factory intake and throttle body with a BBK Performance Cold Air Intake and Throttle Body Combo Kit from AmericanMuscle for more horsepower and torque. This BBK combo kit will greatly improve your engines incoming airflow path to produce more useable power and to increase throttle response.

No Tune Required. Unlike other Throttle Body and Cold Air Intake Combos on the market today for the Ford Mustang this BBK Combo Kit does not require a computer re-tune. The engineers at BBK Performance really did their homework to improve your Pony's power using the stock factory tune.

70MM Bore. Your Pony's stock throttle body is a restrictive 65mm, choking off airflow and keeping your Mustang from giving you everything it has. But the BBK Performance throttle body features a generous, free flowing 70mm single bore design for significantly more air to feed the fire under your hood.

Reusable Filter. BBK designed their Cold Air Intakes with a reusable high flow cotton air filter. So no there is no need to go out and buy a new filter every few thousand miles. Just clean the filter, re-oil it, save money, and go!

Easy Bolt-On Installation. This BBK Intake Combo Kit is designed to be a straight forward install with just basic hand tools. No extra modifications or special tools are required for a simple 2 hour installation.

Application. This BBK Performance 70mm Throttle Body and Cold Air Intake Combo Kit is specifically designed to fit the 2005 to 2010 V6 Mustangs equipped with the 4.0L V6 engine.

CARB Certified. Best of all this BBK Mustang Cold Air Intake Kit is 50-state smog legal under Carb EO# D-245-14.

Is there a noticeable difference in performance if I install a 70mm throttle body along with a cold air intake on a V6? The V6 is a pretty spunky already with stock everything. The top end isn't great so I was wondering if I make the change will there be a big difference in the performance?

  • There will be a small difference in power after install WITHOUT A TUNE!!! if you really want a big difference in power i recommend going with a tune to get the maximum power out of the CAI and with the 70mm Throttle Body!!!

  • Yes it will fit. The BBK throttle body is a bolt on upgrade, you just have to remove the stock part and take it apart and then build the BBK unit and install.

    Great product combination

I installed both of these right as I got them and it was a pretty simple install. The instructions for the positioning of the air filter on the intake hose was a little confusing, but you can just figure out what spot works. For the Throttle body the instructions were a little spotty when it comes to adjusting the voltage on the Throttle body. Be aware you need to have a voltmeter to replace the Throttle Body, as the voltage on the TPS needs to be the same for the new Throttle Body. Once you have it all installed, it looks and sounds great! The Throttle Body will give off a whistle sound when you get on the gas, but you get used to the sound. I love this combo set up, just waiting to get my new tuner so I can see how it really will perform! Looks great!

    not bad

i installed the cold air intake first. that was a blast and really easy. took less then 5 min. the throttle body on the other hand is a hassle to put it bluntly. even with my stock voltage keeps giving me forced closed and forced idle codes so i put on the oe one and went from there. come to find out the throttle blade itself sticks to the bottom of the bore itself when even the oe one can be closed fully. also noticed the gears for the blade movement is not very well burred which could possibly lead to extra problems. love the intake though, very sweet system so not a total loss.

My stock throttle body, was already 70 mm. I also added a "STEEDA" spacer . I had what is apparently a common problem with '05 to '10, Mustang throttle bodies.Sticking closed ! There is an increase in initial start up RPM's . There is also an increase in power in first, first to second,& third to fourth. Have not had enough time as of yet,to determine if there is any increase to gas mileage !Installation is approximately a month & a half old.have not had any "check engine ",lights,or the dredded "wrench" light, come on !!In the Spring,I will probably purchase a "BAMA" tunes,to complete the project !!This kit with the spacer, just fits,no extra room !!I am having no vibration noise problems ! I am highly satisfied with this kit ! SO FAR !!

The BBK CAI and 70 mm throttle body combo kit what's a great addition to my 2005 Ford v6 Mustang. In both appearance and performance. It was very easy to install but you will need a digital multimeter to complete the installation of the throttle body. My only regret is I didn't install this earlier. Combine with the pypes shorty headers and mid muffler dual exhaust system my v6 Mustang look, sounds, and performs awesome.

Don't forget to check teh Volts

Just one thing we were not expecting is to have to check the volts to the TPS on the throttle body before disconnecting any sensors. Ended up not a big deal but something to be prepared for before you start puling parts off.
