Description
Increases Overall Performance. Add even more horsepower and torque to the rear wheels of your 3.7L V6 Pony by eliminating those power robbing catalytic converters with a BBK Off-road X-pipe. A BBK off-road X-pipe will significantly improve your pony's exhaust flow to increase overall performance.

Race Car Growl. This free flowing BBK x-pipe for the 3.7L V6 Mustangs not only increases power, but it also adds a crisp raspy, race car growl to the sound of your exhaust with its modern "X" crossover pipe design.

Durable Construction. BBK's X-pipes use a free-flowing 2-1/2" diameter CNC mandrel bent aluminized steel tubing and a merged X crossover to improve flow. It also features OEM style hangers that attach in the stock locations for a perfect fit.

Application. This BBK Performance Off-road X-Pipe is designed to be a direct bolt-on for the 2011-2014 3.7L V6 Mustangs with either aftermarket short tube headers or the factory manifolds installed. Intended for off-road, track use only, does not include catalytic converters.

Please Note. Stock 2011 V6 Mustangs come stock with a mid-pipe that resembles both the H-pipe and X-pipe designs. This hybrid mid-pipe was created by Ford to help add additional power and sound to the V6 straight out of the factory. This BBK aftermarket X-pipe will further help you reach maximum air-flow equaling additional power.

Technical Note: This BBK product is intended for off road use, and is not legal for use in emission restrictive states.

Loud AF

If you are looking to go loud, look no further. This will bump up the volume to the max. Has great sound, but I recommend straight pipes for a nice deep note.

Will this bolt on to my magnaflow street series catback? I don't want to get the BBK headers and the shorty X-pipe because it is too much money and I do not like the raspyness from the full length headers. So this is cheaper and hopefully I don't get that raspyness from these.

Can this work with both long and short tube headers? I see that each side has separate extensions. Without the extensions, is this essentially the same as the x pipe for long tube headers? This way, I could go off road x pipe with the stock manifold for now, then add the long tubes later and remove the extensions? I prefer long tube over the short headers.

I have pypes bomb axle back exhaust. If I install this will it be to the point where it is just obnoxiously loud? I have herd this pipe online and sometimes it sounds like the car is struggling to stay on? Is that for everyone?

    Improve of torque

    This will wake up your car a lot, the only thing is that it's loud if someone is going to install this product i'll recomend that either you got the stock mufflers or ones that are not too loud. In my case i have the Borla Atak's and trust me it is loud.

    Great buy.

    Great buy . These are really easy to install by yourself just make sure you have a 15mm deep socket 18inch extension and a universal adapter. Maybe a little pb blaster. I only had a pair of car ramps and it makes for a really tight space to work under but you are able to get it done in about an hour. If you have the money I would just take it to the shop and have them change it out. These pipes are LOUD. I would definitely suggest keeping the stock exhaust and get some resonators welded in because it gets really raspy from 3000 and up. Really quiet when idling but can get loud when you want it to.

    Head turner, for sure.

    First off, the pipes came in looking immaculate. The welds were good, and only about one of them looked a little sloppy. Used a flat shop jack to lift up the car, but whenever I went to remove the stock x-pipes from the headers, one of the bolts was frozen so I wasn't able to remove it. 2 hours and a shop had it installed, and man, was it LOUD. I had it paired with my magnaflow competition axel backs with out the mufflers, and it sounded like a monster truck. Unfortunately I was pulled over 3 times in 30 minutes it took to get back to my house. Now I have it paired with the MAC axel backs and the sound is amazing. There is drone, but it's manageable if you like to listen to your music loud. The power gain is definitely higher in the rpm band, and it pulls a lot harder after 3rd gear. You will lose some low end torque though, but you can easily gain it back with a tune / headers / CAI. Overall, it's a great product and will really wake up your car.

    Be prepared for noise

    The off road x-pipe does exactly what it's meant to do. The fit was perfect and as long as your car is cool and you can easily get under it this will take you 30-45 minutes at most. I did this on a lift in just over half an hour. all you'll need is a 15mm deep well socket and a 7/8" wrench for the O2 sensors. An impact wrench will greatly reduce your time as will a long extension and swivel extension. Once installed you will have a LOT of noise in the cabin. I recommend resonators for the over axle pipe to quiet it down. This is not a pleasant noise at all. There is also a noticeable drop in low end torque due to the increased pipe diameter. Once it hits about 3500 RPMs, this thing really comes to life. Overall I think it's a good product but I don't know if it's really what I was expecting. I miss that low-end-pull dearly. The tune from Bama didn't really help to fix that either.

    Big gains,fair install

    This x-pipe took me two and a half hours to install with little help from my friend. Perfect fit(no air leaks).Install required basic tools and a lot of wd-40 to loosen the sensors that are screwed into the factory x-pipe. This cat-less x-pipe made the exhaust note rumble louder at low RPM and rasp louder at high RPM. There are definite Hp/Tq gains throughout the whole rpm range but mostly felt at high rpm, just where I needed it. Great price. Good product that I recommend. Thanks to american muscle and BBK.

    Wake up your car!!

    Great product! Figured I would get this before my axle back exhaust. Sounds really good from outside the cabin. Has a v8 tone. Easy install, hardest part was removing o2 sensors. That was because it was a tight fit and the old exhaust was still hot. Make sure you have a lot of socket wrench extensions! Must needed to preform this install yourself. Didn't really notice a bump in power. Only in 5th gear I could feel a difference. Other than that, it sounds great, bang for your buck, and when cruising you can't tell there are no kitty cats :) P.s the only complaint was the instructions being so vague and in black and white with horrible pictures!!

    Great quality, good fit, but loud

    I had this installed at a performance shop along with a cat-back system. It took about 2.5 hours but most of that time was fitment of the cat-back system. The stock x pipe was out and the BBK o/r x pipe was in within 45 minutes. But having a lift helped that. This thing is loud, as you would expect by removing the stock resonators and catalytic converters. The 3.7L makes some pretty gnarly rasp at 3000 rpms and up. So be prepared for that. I went back to the shop and had two Vibrant 1792's welded on right before the over axle pipes because the rasp was so loud. I would recommend resonators if you plan to run anything other than the stock cat-back system along with this x pipe. As for hp/tq increases, I noticed a nice 3000 rpm and up increase in hp and tq but as I said, I installed a 2.5in cat back system along with this. There is no posted hp/tq numbers for this part yet, but the Lethal x pipe makes about 14 or 15 rwhp I think. I'd image this would be similar. Be prepared for your powerband to be a little different. You didn't lose power, it just moved up the band. Oh and make sure you tune for this part. I use Bama tunes with an SCT tuner. Enjoy.

    Neck cracker

    I took my car to my uncles shop. Put it in the lift and got to work. Took 1 hr total. WOW is all I can say, right when I turned the key over it is super loud. Race loud is more like it. After 3,000 rpms holy shoooot. Way better flow, feel the horsepower instantly.

    BBK details

    The pipes to get off are the hardest part.Once old mid section is out its a lot easier.Make sure the up pipe is a little loose for final adjusting. How ever the x-pipe is short. It could definitely need to be two inches longer.The sound is loud.Use a tuner or you will throw a code.Tuner fixes backfire noise. They definitely turn heads.But you will lose low end torque for sure.But top end is clean and noticeable on acceleration. And your car will definitely smell like an old motorcycle.
