How to Install A Premium Black Leather E-Brake Boot - Red Stitch on a 2005-2009 Mustang

Installation of the e-brake boot is a simple procedure that requires removal of the center console cover plate. Here is the e-brake handle prior to the installation:


1. Loosen the shift knob by turning counter clockwise until it becomes free from the shift lever. It is not necessary to detach the shift knob from the shift boot.


2. Remove the shift boot and shift knob from the console plate by carefully lifting the boot at the corners.


Remove shift knob and boot as a unit.


3. Open the console compartment and remove the two screws in the rear of the compartment that hold the console cover plate in place (see image 4).


4. Gently detach the console cover plate from the clips that attach it to the console by lifting from the bottom, first in the rear and then in the front. Lift and slide the console cover plate sliding it carefully over the e-brake handle and set it aside.


5. Remove the Velcro strips from the bottom of the e-brake boot and set aside.
6. Slide the e-brake boot over the e-brake handle with the red stitches aligned in the top middle (
7. Reinstall the Velcro strips to the e-brake boot with one strip attached such that it spans the
opening on the front-side and the other such that it spans the opening on the rear-side.


8. Slide the console cover plate carefully over the e-brake handle.


9. Snap the console cover back in place.
10. Reinstall the shift boot, snap it back in place, retighten shift knob on the shift lever.


11. Reinstall the two screws in the rear of the console compartment that hold the console cover in place.


12. Close the console and you are done.
