Clean Sleek Look
I searched for many months before deciding on this combo for my 2011 Kona Blue GT. The Nova wheel just works with the body style, providing a clean sleek look. The polished aluminum is in perfect balance - not too bling (chrome) but not lost either (black). The stock pic makes em look almost white, but the aluminum has a great shine in person. I considered going with a 19 wheel (20s are too 'wagon-wheel' for me), but have no regrets with the 18s. They aren't 'lost' in the wheel well like some other styles, and going with 9 width all the way around preserved tire rotations while still providing a nice deep dish look. Much more aggressive than stock. Nothing but compliments so far, especially with how well they match with the vehicle.
One cautionary note, the 18s were a very tight fit up front. Had to work with some small tolerances clearing the middle of the standard size brake caliper. Anything larger likely won't work unless you go with a bigger radius wheel.
The Nitto 555s were a solid tire selection. I've got a few hundred miles on them now and ride quality and noise seems similar to stock, although I do notice better grip on dry surfaces (probably a combo of more contact and the tire iteself). No significant rain/snow in my area, so I can't comment there.
I ended up adding in the TPMS sensor package. Didn't even have to sync them after the install, and no warning lights. I've heard that sometimes they may sync up automatically if everything matches. Maybe I was just lucky...
Lastly, know that you will need the smaller 'spline' lug nuts as the OEM ones are to big and they fit in recessed holes. The black ones blend in very nicely with the black finish on the polished aluminum wheels. I'd recommend those over chrome. Also for reference, the center caps AM shipped included 2 American Racing and 2 KMC.
Overall, I am thrilled with this kit and and how well it augments an already stellar vehicle.
