I bought cheap stripes and got what I paid for, disappointed at results
I bought a set of Lemans stripes and rocker stripes to dress up my car. I sent the car to a pro auto body shop here in my town, been using them for years. Grownups work there, not beginner kids. They installed the roof, hood and deck lid and begged me to let them stop there. Said they wouldn't charge me if I let them stop there, the stripes were so low quality they were afraid to attempt bumpers...I use these guys every week, so I paid them and took the car to a second shop I use for high end work. They did the rear spoiler and the face of the trunk, and quit there and called me to quit, saying the stripes are so cheap they stretch at the slightest squeegee pressure. They also did not want to charge me because they did not have enough product to finish the bumpers after replacing stripe material that had to be replaced when it tore during install process. We have used these shops to do customers cars, our own show cars, muscles cars, and these guys are the 2 best in our area. They were so disappointed with the results they were hesitant to charge me. The second shop billed me a nominal charge because I refused to NOT pay them, I have known them for 20 years or more. Both places told me that they would recommend a higher quality material with 3m vinyl next time for better results...I learned from this experience a lesson I should have learned long before now. You get what you pay for. I paid for cheap and I got what I paid for, cheap quality stripes that 2 shops couldn't get installed to completion...So, now I have a car with a partial stripe kit installed, that isn't close to the look I was wanting to achieve when I started. I guess I will shop more carefully UNTIL I find a higher quality set to replace these with...I don't blame anybody but myself, but I write this review to share my experience with the product. If you are shopping for stripes, you can weigh my experience and decide for yourself what type of experience you are anticipating and desiring. I think based on this product I certainly could not recommend them, especially for an amateur installer if the pros struggled so much with them. Thanks for the chance to review.
