Ram Air Induction. BMC Extreme Customs designed this hood with a fully functional built-in Ram Air Kit that allows cooler denser air to enter the front scoop openings and redirects it over to the stock air box location.

Heat Extractor. Designed as a fully functional heat extractor hood, this BMC Extreme Customs hood features two open heat extractor vents that allow hot air to exit the engine bay keeping your engine running cooler.

Quality Construction and Carbon Fiber Finish. Constructed from hand laid high impact fiberglass, this BMC hood is completed with grade A+ Carbon Fiber top and a smooth black gel coat bottom for a show quality finish. Plus the integrated stainless mesh grille prevents debris from entering the engine compartment.

Safety. BMC hoods feature reinforced metal latch and hinge plate areas for strength and additional safety. BMC Extreme Customs recommends the use of a true functional hood latch and pin kit on all their hoods.

Keep Your Hood Lines Clean. Keep your new hood looking sleek and clean with a Squirter Nozzle Relocation Kit that relocates your windshield washer squirter nozzles onto your wiper arms.

Appearance Upgrade. If this BMC Carbon Fiber Mamba II Mustang hood was not cool enough already you can further upgrade the appearance with a set of optional Billet Hood Vents. See dropdown option above.

Application. The BMC Black Mamba II Hood utilizes the original OEM hinges and hood latch to bolt up in the stock location on any 2010 to 2012 GT or V6 Mustang for outstanding show winning styling. This hood will not fit Shelby GT500 models. Also this hood will not work with aftermarket hood shocks.

Ask a Question

Weight? What is the weight saving? OEM weight vs this carbon fiber weight. Does it also require hood pins or can it latch on the OEM part?

Fredo1

  • Fredo. I just installed one about 2 or 3 weks ago. Not sure of the weight savings, but the box weighed-in at 57 lbs (that includes packaging materials and the box), so I am thinking the carbonfiber hood weighs somewhere around 50 lbs. I did use the OEM latch and with some minor adjustments, it latches fine...a quote from the manufacturer document that was inside the packaging...manufacturer is "Trufiber": "Trufiber products are intended for "car show" and "off-road" use only. Hood pins are required." With that said, I haven't installed hood pins yet. Hope this helps

would this hood fit a boss 302 2013

meathead

  • The front end on the 10-12 Mustangs is not the same as the 2013 models and therefore, this hood would not fit properly on any 2013 Mustang.

Ram Air Kit During bad weather, rain or snow, does the water get into the air intake? Can you drive it during rain?

Dormie

  • The BMC Black Mamba II Hood - Carbon Fiber (10-12 GT, V6) will not leave your engine bay susceptible to flooding of any kind, so you can drive this year round, rain or shine, and not have any worries! Just make sure it is clean of any debris like leaves or something like that and you'll be good to go!

cbr001

  • The BMC Black Mamba II Hood - Carbon Fiber (10-12 GT, V6) can handle the rain/snow just fine! You have nothing to worry about in regards to flooding your engine bay. Just be cognizant of debris getting inside the scoop.

Will rain getting in the vents cause trouble with the engine? Just wondering when it rains, it looks like the rain might get in the vents, especially if you're sitting still or parked. Would that get in the engine compartment and cause problems?

Browncrow

  • With the BMC Black Mamba II Hood - Carbon Fiber (10-12 GT, V6), some water can get through to the engine bay. However not enough water would be able to go through to hurt your engine at all.

    Love The Hood!

Love the look, especially the carbon fiber on the black Mustang. Recommend 3 people during install. Lines-up pretty good with a few minor adjustments to the latch and rubber hood stops. Don't know if this will be an on-going issue, but found that I had to tighten the hinge bolts one time since install (noticed it went slightly out of alignment#. The optional "squirter" kit really isn't "optional" unless you don't want squirters or unless you want to try and rig the OEM squirters after you remove them #not sure how this would be done#. I installed the optional squirter kit with no issues. Within the box from the manufacturer #TruFiber# it states "Trufiber products are intended for "car show" and "off-road" use only. Hood pins are required." Some sort of disclaimer I suppose. I haven't put on hood pins....yet. Overall, I am VERY satisfied with the hood and I consider it an easy install with the right amount of help.

    Looks sleek and mean

The hood looks great from every angle. This will definitely make your mustang stand out! The only problem I had was it came with a few scratches.

    Disappointed for what I paid

I love the appearance and function of this hood, But I am upset I paid 1600 for a carbon fiber hood that was not clear coated, which I will have to do myself. Also, I do not want hood pins, so I also had to re-fab the hood latch so it would close properly, which was disappointing. It looks amazing, just thought the quality would be better with the money I spent.

Perfect fit and finish which really attracts attention at car shows.

The installation is simple with two people. It can be done by yourself but to make sure you don't scratch it and line it up properly a second person really helps. The oem hood latch once bolted to underneath of the hood no longer was able to securely latch down. The catching mechanism for the latch has some play but i needed to dremel the bolt slots a little taller to get the hood to catch.
