Features & Details

  • Line Lock System
  • Perfect for Drag Racers
  • Saves Wear & Tear on Your Rear Brakes
  • Works with Anti-Lock Brakes & Traction-Control
  • Fits 1999 to 2004 V8 Mustangs
Line Lock System. Brake-Control Packages better know as a line lock system allows the driver to "lock up" the front brakes while letting the rear wheels spin free to heat up the rear tires in the burnout box for better traction down the track. Not only is it a great way to warm up your tires, but you can also use the system to prevent a manual transmission cars from rolling out of the staging beams at the starting line.

How It Works. The SLP Brake-Control Package works by simply pressing the brake pedal and flipping the brake-control solenoid switch on. Remove your foot from the pedal, and the solenoid maintains line pressure to the front brakes until the switch is released. This saves wear and tear on your car's rear brake components from the old "left foot on the brake and right foot on the gas" method.

Complete Custom Kit. SLP Brake-Control kits are custom-fitted to the New Edge Mustangs chassis, with no tweaking or fabrication required. It includes a waterproof electrical solenoid, an activation switch, plug-in wires, CNC-bent steel lines with correct OE fittings, mounting hardware, and detailed installation instructions.

Application. This SLP Brake-Control Package is specifically designed for use on the 1999 to 2004 V8 Mustangs, including the GT, Bullitt, Mach 1 and SVT Cobra models. This kit is fully compatible with the factory anti-lock braking and traction-control systems.

Works great, makes burnouts and stageing easy!

The install was not bad but you need to use a stubby wrench or cut one down. I use it to warm up my slicks at the track and to keep me from rolling out of the stageing linesbefore I launch. Just mount ...

This line lock system work without Anti-Lock Brakes Traction-Control ?

  • This kit works with hydraulic brake system. It does not matter if you have or do not have factory anti-lock braking and traction-control. But there are other kits that do.

    01 Cobra, SLP Line Lock

Works as advertised... Simple as that. Install is a breaze if you are familiar with the hydroboost and master cylinder. I installed the switch in the suggested spot next to the shifter. To engage, just press the brakes to build pressure in the brake lines, then flip the switch. Release the brakes, and the front brakes will hold pressure while your rear brakes release... Then let the tires spin! Came in really handy the next time at the track...

    yep, it locks the brakes

Install took about two hours and would have taken longer if I didn't have a friend helping to bleed the brakes. I didn't cut the wrenches down like the instructions recommended (used stubby wrenches instead). Simple install overall. That being said, awesome product but for some reason I have less tread on my rear tires than I remember before the install

The product seems well made for the money

For a do-it-yourself mechanic like myself, it took a full day. Cutting the wrenches are a must. Mounting the solenoid was a challenge and running the switch wire through the fire wall required a cut in the boot around the steering shaft.

    Screw a Transbrake!

I did not want to run a transbrake so I picked this up to do burnouts at the track *cough* and it works perfect and does exactly what its supposed to do.

Wow is all I can say!

This works awesome. Depending on how hard you press the brake pedal before energizing the line lock determines if your burnout is stationary or whether you slowly creep along. This device makes for some great videos. Only down side is the rear tires seem to be loosing their tread. LOL Installation wasn't bad but you must cut the wrenches or it would be impossible to install. If you have fat hands might want to get a skinny handed friend to help as it will save your knuckles.

    Going To Need More Tires

This product does exactly what it suppose to do. Installation was a bit tricky, due to the tight space. Cutting your wrench saves a lot of time and effort. Just make sure to save money for new tires. =)

I had my shop install this product. It took less time than they said it would. It works great!! I can't wait to take it to the track. I have a feeling I will be going through tires more quickly than before.

Product works great. No issues at all

Works great!! Install was definitely a pain though. I wish there was some sort of template to go in the LF inner fender well to drill the holes in the right spot to secure the solenoid. Very difficult to drill in the right spot. I measured off a spot weld that you can see on both sides. I got very lucky when drilling but it is very easy to mess up. Useless holes in the fender well is very easy to do if not very carefull. Although install is a pain what really matters is if the product performs like it should and Once installed it works great. I've already improved my track times by heating up my tires properly. Highly reccomend shifting to second mid burnout if you really want to get your tires launch ready!

    Absolute Must for the Track

If you want to get serious with your ET's, then pick this up. This helped me break into the next second range by concentrating on the tree and not my foot work at the stage.

    Soooo easy

Really good product. Makes doing burnouts a lot easier. The only pain about it is accessing the bake lines but other than that its very simple. I do have to warn you that you might have to cut down one of your wrenches to fit into the tight spot.
