convertible light bar does the convertible light bar come with splice in light bar switch?

  • No it did not come with a switch. It uses the existing factory top down sensor switch to keep the light from coming on with the top up.

    Perfect

Love it. Took about an hour to install, had all the tools ready to go. Definitely have a punch handy. They should provide at least one spare nut, but it is what it is. I went to AM to pick up the part, and glad I went with the CDC with the integrated brake light. Like others have stated, no need for separate splice in as the wiring will only turn on the brake light when the top is down. Matches perfectly. z

    Adding Style to your Mustang

This styling/light bar by CDC, certainly adds style to the Mustang. Fairly simple to install, took about an hour to complete, sits pretty flush. Like the fact that when the top is up, the brake light does not turn on (only about 10% is on, cannot be noticed), thus not needing the seperate switch to turn off. Its of very good quality, the material is excellent. Makes a great looking car, look even better. Highly recommended!

    Love It!

Very easy install. Took me a little over an hour to put in. Fit and finish is very good, and the color matched perfectly. As suggested in other reviews, I drilled 1 3/4" hole instead on 2", was careful marking where hole should go, and it fit perfectly. Posted pics in the customer pics section. On newer generation 11-13 Mustangs, does not need the relay as the instructions have you tap the groung off the existing top down microswitch. Even the wife likes the look of it!

Excellent Way to Change the Look

Convertibles look good. Obviously. But there always seems to be something missing from the Mustang. The light bar is what is missing. It gives the car an entirely new look. The added brake light is excellent since it puts an extra light up high making it much easier for others to see. Quality of the finish is excellent

    Looks Awesome!!!

After looking at the few different brands out therere and calling the manufactures and AM I decided on the CDC brand. The fit, color match and instructions are the best. Did the complete install in 2 1/2 hours. Note that you do not need the additional splice in harness for the brake light. I called the manufacture and they told me it was not needed. Download the install instructions from the CDC which are updated with the correct wiring diagram.

Adds the exact look my car needed

Took my time doing the installation, The two hardest parts were separating the canvas from the seat back and not dropping the nuts inside the cavity when you bolted the brackets to the car. I lost one nut to the cause, and luckily had another one in my garage. The install was very straight forward, I copied the template and used the copies to line up the hole for the bar to go through. The wiring couldn't be easier but I did use the optional light cut off so as not to illuminate the entire car with the top up. Overall, VERY satisfied, looks like it was born there.

    light bar

For a person who knows electrical stuff, its kind of easy. The color of the wires differ and aren't like the instructions say they are. The only bad thing is you have to buy the relay switch seperate while other cheaper light bars come with it. That's why I gave it lower on bang for your buck. Also, we had to sand the rust off the bars so it could slide easier. Also had to use a little WD-40. I'm happy though.

    Awesome addition

This parts adds eye catching bling to your convertible . It is an item that everyone notices. Easiest way to mark the trim to ensure an accurate hole placement is to install the brackets, then replace the mustang trim and with a rubber mallet tap the top of the trim. This will mark the plastic. Then mark the centre of the hole, use a 1 3/4 hole saw to cut out the plug. (Suggested by a previous person) it's impossible to make a cut in the wrong spot eliminating a lot of needless worry

A little work but Worth it!

Okay. This took a little longer than I anticipated. The key is to have all of the right tools ready. I broke two drill bits and that was my only hitch. AM got the light bar to me extremely fast and it was packaged well. The CDC fit and finish is awesome. It looks factory on my Shelby and that was what I was looking for!

    Great addition to our convertible

I'm very satisfied with the light bar - very nicely made and really simple to install. I didn't think I really cared about the stop light, but glad I got it - it looks really good. I had some trouble finding the right wire in the bundle to hook up the stop light and ended up lengthening the light bar wire and running it directly to the tail light. I would recommend doing that rather than unbundling and splicing into the factory loom. The spade on the light bar wire will insert right into the tail light plug where the brake light wire runs into it.

    CDC CONVERTIBLE LIGHTBAR - CHARCOAL

Installed on 2007 Mustang in about 3 slow paced hours. Instructions were clear, easy to follow, and complete, including wiring instructions to ensure that the brake light only activates with the top down. I did opt for 1.5 inch holes through the top trim plates instead of suggested 2 inch. Fits perfectly! Good match with previously purchased Love the Drive windscreen. CDC bar is quality constructed, matches car interior, fits snugly, mounts firmly, and oh yeah, looks great!

    Great looking !

Had a few hiccups along the way. You will need a powerful drill to go through the B-Pillar on the mustang. My 12 v exhausted 2 battery packs to do one side. I purchased from American Muscle (however) Classic Design Concepts has great customer service and I called them twice to answer questions. I also ordered the windscreen which makes for a great looking and very functional combination. Works great. Drive with the top down more than ever.
