Review & Install Video

Hey everyone, I’m Justin with, and today I’m taking a look at these chrome CCFL headlights for all ’05-’09 Mustangs. The first thing you’ll notice when taking a look at these headlights is that sleek chrome finish which is a result of pairing a bright chrome housing with a crystal clear lens. What you won’t notice until you see these headlights in action is the very cool CCFL Halo feature. This refers to the cold cathode lighting ring around the headlight itself, giving you some very cool accent lighting that’s sure to be noticed both day and night. The lights do include dual element H13 bulbs for your high and low beams and all the necessary wiring to get these headlights working properly. Since you do have to remove your front bumper to get these headlights installed, the installation may take you an hour or so from start to finish. If you ever run into any problems during this install, you can always reference the very detailed install video located on this page. If the headlights in your S197 are looking a little rough, and you want to add some clean chrome styling, with the added cool factor of some halo accent lighting, you’ll definitely want to check out a set of headlights for your ride.

Ask a Question

Is it possible to chang out the CCFL Halo. Like if i want to put a blue or orange halo in. If so how hard is it to chang out?

  • Its pretty difficult and I recommend getting it professionally done. I got mine replaced by Oracle Lighting (Advanced Automotive Concepts). You can order some cool products from there as far as halos go. If you want to do it yourself, you'll have to use an oven to pry open the seal, replace the halos and reheat to seal the housing together. If done incorrectly you can get really bad misting on the inside of the housing due to a bad seal. All of Oracle Lighting's products have a lifetime warranty. Hope this helps.

do HID kits fit? My car is equipped with an HID kit, does it fit in with this head light kit? as in is it the stock bulb plug?

  • It will fit, my HID kit worked in these headlamps, but was slightly too big on the locking mechanism. I had to shave down the sides for the bulb holder to lock just right.

when installed cant get headlight adjustment correct, beam is to low, backed in and backed out adjustment every way possible still no luck. what would cause this ??? cant see very well at night at this point, Going thought the whole process again but removing them and installing the OEM housings back in. Disappointing with all the work needed to remove and install. what gives? Are there issues with the adjustment piece not mentioned anywhere ? Love the look just want them to work properly, please advise

  • There could be an issue with the bulbs not sitting right inside the housing. You can try to reinstall the bulbs and see if that will help with the adjustment making. It could be a faulty adjuster as well.

Question Resolved

Do the headlights need to be resealed with silicone or are the good to go out of the box?

  • The Chrome Headlights - CCFL Halo (05-09 GT, V6) will be ready to install right out of the box. If you want to seal it with silicone for extra protection you always have that option to make sure no condensation gets inside!

I ordered these for my 2005 GT and they are WAY brighter than the yellowish stock ones, especially if you replace the bulbs with Super White bulbs. Now I need to get the foglights.

Can't get them aimed high enough

Took my time putting them in by removing front bumper, etc. Once everything back together, could not get them aimed, even after drilling some new holes to aim the whole headlight higher. They are still aimed low, even after taking the adjuster out to see how it works, etc., and not so convinced they will be staying in the car. Same for both sides. Frustrating, as I will have to take the bumper off again. The Cold Cathode Lighting looks awesome, thus the reason I bought them.

This product gives a whole new look to the 2009 Mustang.

This was a gift for my son. He opened it Christmas morning and had the lights fully installed in 45 mins. We were amazed it was so fast. He had said he looked up your intallation and that was all he needed to do to install them. I was quite impressed.

If you want to stand out!

I love the look it bring to my car. The visibility isn't what i like it to be but it is not bad. I shopped around for a shop to put it on for me and found a good shop and didn't over charge me to do it.

    Poor visibility

I have to say the lights look and work great, however it's very difficult to adjust the lights. Low beams shine almost straight down and they are completely out of adjustment . Needs definite improvement .

My second pair and still light won't lift all the way.

First off let me say I LOVE the LOOK of these only 07 GT I also have the Halo fog lights to match, but I have installed them myself TWICE and took them to the dealership to get adjusted and they won't go any higher then showing the ground. I have the add on h-13 light as well to take the stock look I read about and how cheap it looks so I got those white lights they advertise above. I have had to ride with my fog lights as my main light because I can't get these pretty lights to rise to use them. I love the look but not worth the hassle I went through to put them on and to take them off twice and just to not use them.

    Great Head/Fog Lights

Purchased the headlights and matching fog lights. Shop technician had to take the nose off, which took some time and added to the install cost. Lights were great fit. They transformed the appearance of the front of my Stang. At dusk traveled to my neighboring pub and folks in the parking lot loved the look of the lights -- a difference maker. Great products for the price.

    A great new look.

I bought these chrome headlights with the CCFL Halo along with new Raxiom fog lights and installed both at the same time. They look great. They give a very clean, unique look at night. The installation is somewhat involved, but not difficult. The only problem I had is that the headlights aim rather low. I took them to a shop after installing them to have them aimed and the shop could not get them to aim any higher. They may need to be modified somehow because it does reduce my night time visibility. If you install them yourself you may want to check the aim prior to putting everything back together.

I'm very pleased with my lights, comparing these to other headlights these in my personal opinion give the car a real sharp, and clean look overall. I couldn't be happier with my product.

this is the unique look I was wanting. the install wasn't that hard, took about 3-4 hours after we figured out the electrical and where the bolts were for the bumper since the video was using a different model than mine. After everything was finished my alignment was far off, I tried adjusting it myself but it ends up falling back down.. it seems like the whole headlight doesn't fit properly.

    Awesome headlights

The stock headlight didn't give me the visibility and wow factor that I was looking for. These CCFL halo headlight gave me exactly what I was looking for and more. I know have the visability that I want, since I have problems seeming at night, and that wow factor I've always been looking for.
