How to Install a C&L Racer Cold Air Intake on Your 2015-2016 GT Mustang

  • Phillips Screwdriver
  • Ratchet
  • 11mm Socket
  • 10mm Socket
  • Pliers

Step 1:  

Remove the engine cover, firmly pull on the corners to dislodge the  cover from its rubber mount. Using a 10mm socket remove the bolt holding the air box to the inner fender.


Step 2:  

Loosen the hose clamp that holds the intake tube to the throttle body. Then remove the 3 vacuum hoses from the factory intake tube. Using pliers remove the sound tube from the factory intake tube.


Step 3:  

Pushing the dark section of the hose clamp will allow you to pull the vacuum line off the intake tube.


Step 4:  

Rotating the gray clip on the PCV hose will a pull the PCV line from the intake tube.


Step 5:  

Using the supplied torx bit remove the mass air meter from the factory intake tube, you will not re-use the torx screws. Note the plug  harness is attached to the air box, you must remove the wiring  harness (bottom right of the picture) before you can remove the intake system. The system can be removed in one piece.


Step 6:  

Slide the smaller coupler onto to small side of the intake tube. Then slide the larger coupler onto the other side. Followed by the C&L MAF housing and the filter. Reinstall the maf using the supplied phillips screws **Note: Couplers will be tight, and may take some patience when installing them on the tube.


Loosely attach the hose clamps so that the tube can be twist during install.


Step 7:  

Make sure the tube flush against the throttle body and the MAF housing lines up with the plug. Push on all vacuum connections and reattach the sound tube.


Step 8:  

Tighten hose clamps. Install filter cover using the supplied nut and bolt using an 11mm socket and wrench.
