Installation Instructions:

1. Remove/Lift up the engine cover. This just snaps into the top of the intake manifold. If you want to remove it completely you will need to remove the strut tower brace. This will make your job a little easier, but is not necessary.

2. Remove the vacuum hose and the noise transmission tube from the stock inlet tube. If you have an automatic, there is a 3rd hose with a yellow clip that needs to be removed from the stock inlet tube also.

3. Remove the MAF connector by pulling out the red clip. The MAF connector should easily pull away from the MAF sensor. Do not force it.

4. Loosen the Hose clamps on both ends of the inlet tube at the throttle body and the stock filter box. You will need an 8mm socket or a flat head screwdriver to loosen the hose clamps. Then remove the stock inlet tube from your vehicle.

5. Remove the MAF sensor from the stock inlet tube using a T-20 star bit with a .” nut driver or socket wrench. Be very careful not to drop or damage the MAF sensor. Keep it in a clean place until you are ready to reinstall in the new CAI.

6. Remove the top of the air filter box by pulling open the two clips on the back side of the air filter box. Lift off the top cover and remove the stock air filter.

7. Remove the bolt on the right side of the filter box. You will need a 10mm socket to remove this bolt. Be sure you save the bolt. You will need it when you mount the new intake onto the vehicle. Remove the MAF connector cable from the side of the filter box.

8. All of the old stock parts should now be removed from the vehicle at this time and your car should look like this.

9. Install the new C&L cold air intake heat shroud using a 10mm socket and the 10mm bolt that was used to mount the stock air filter box and was removed in step 7.

10. If you have an automatic transmission, remove the nylon bolt from the C&L CAI tube and install the supplied hose barb in its place using an adjustable wrench. If you have a manual transmission, leave the nylon bolt in place but make sure that it is tight.

11. Install the smaller of the two silicone hoses over the end of the inlet tube that will connect to the throttle body. Install the 2 smaller hose clamps over the silicone hose but make sure they remain loose for now. Install inlet tube onto throttle body. Tighten silicone hose to throttle body using the closest hose clamp and an 8mm socket or flathead screwdriver. Do not tighten the 2nd hose clamp to the inlet tube at this time. You will need to make some adjustments once everything is in place.

12. Install the MAF sensor into the MAF housing using the supplied screws and a Phillip’s screwdriver. DO NOT use the self-tapping screws from the stock inlet tube mounting. Be sure it is mounted in the correct direction.

13. Install the larger silicone hose to the end of the new C&L inlet tube that will connect to the MAF sensor housing. Install the 2 larger hose clamps over the silicone hose. Install the MAF sensor housing into the silicone hose. Do not tighten the hose clamps at this time.

14. Install the filter over the MAF sensor housing. You may need to loosen the hose clamp on the filter to get it to fit. You can now plug the MAF connector back into the MAF sensor. Ensure that the red clip is pushed back in to keep the connector from becoming disconnected.

15. Now that everything is installed you will need to adjust the filter and inlet tube so that it lines up nicely in the engine compartment and under the shroud. This may take a little work. Be careful not to pull the inlet tube out of the silicone hose at the throttle body. Once everything is in place tighten all hose clamps using an 8mm socket or a flathead screwdriver.

16. Reconnect all hoses to the C&L inlet tube. For manual transmissions you will need to connect two hoses. For automatic transmissions you will need to connect 3. The one hose used for cars with automatic transmission will need to have the connector cut off the end of the hose. You will need a utility knife to do this. Cut off only as much as is needed to remove the connector. The rubber hose will now connect to the barb that we installed in step 10. You may need to cut back the hose wrap that is around the hose as well.

17. Double check all hose clamps are tight and MAF connector is not loose. Snap the intake manifold cover back into place. Reinstall the strut tower brace if you removed it in step 1.

18. Your new C&L CAI should look like this.
