Description
Street Performance. This cam is a good upgrade from stock for improved street performance. With increased responsiveness and a step up duration, a greater performance can be felt from the Xtreme Energy Camshaft.

Noticeable Idle. Give your 5.0 Pony a nice noticeable idle that is louder than stock, but is not overbearing or obnoxious.

Application. This Comp Cams XE270HR Camshaft is designed for use in Mass Air equipped 1986-1995 5.0L V8 Mustangs with modifications such as better flowing heads, Intake, exhaust and steeper 3.55 to 3.73 rear gears for peak performance. Compatible with O.B.D.4.

This cam is intended for Mass Air Equipped 86-95 Mustangs with Good Flowing Cylinder Heads, Intake Manifold, and Headers. Perfect for a "bolt-on" Modified Mustang. Your Mustang needs a minimum of a 3.23-3.73 rear-end. Features: * Comp Cams Xtreme Energy XE270HR * For use with 1.7 Roller Rockers * 270 / 276 advertised duration * 218 / 224 duration @ .050" * .544 / .544 lift (with 1.7 rockers) * 112° lobe separation angle * 1800 - 5800 RPM operating range * Hydraulic Roller camshaft for use with 1.7:1 rockers. Mild modifications, 3.20 - 3.73 gears, larger throttle body and mass air, good heads and manifold.     Got this cam to go with AFR heads on a 1994 GT. The car is driven almost daily. Cam pulls HARD as advertised from just under 2000 all the way up to 6000 with proper valve springs. Noticeable Idle, but not over powering. Fast hassle free shipping from AM as always. THANKS GUYS!

    Sounds Awesome!

    The cam installed as expected with no unusual issues. Fired right up afterwards and idled after adjusting the idle screw on the throttle body. Has a nice lumpy idle and revs cleanly. I am using this with GT40P heads and intake and it works well. One thing to note if you do have GT40P heads make sure you replace the valve springs as the factory ones are not strong enough to use with this cam.
