What is the best or recommended tire and wheel size to go with this suspension system

mustang199476

  • Front: 17" x 8", 17" x 9", or 18" x 8" Rear: 17" x 8, 17" x 9", 18" x 8", 18" x 9", or 18" x 9.5" - 10" i feel as though any combination of these rims, whether you want to stagger them or not, will fit with this kit. Estimated Drop is about 1.1" with a standard deviation of /- .2 or .3 in front and 1.1" with a standard deviation of /- .2 or .3 in rear if other modifications are being added, like Steeda's X2 ball joint kit paired with there bump steer kit.

What is recommended to buy with this kit after looking at this and all the other Eibach kits i realized it would be good to buy caster camber plates with this. Is there anything else that would be recommended to buy with this kit?

skullix

eibach pro ss plus or sr coil over cant decide which to go with.

bossman

  • Both are great systems! I have ridden in a car with the SR Performance coil over kit and it handled great. The car felt planted to the ground and hugged the turns. I did not really see any pros or cons going with either kit compared to the other but I can promise you no matter what route you go you will not be disappointed!

Question Resolved

Is it recommended to use the spacer included with the X2 ball joint in conjunction with the Pro-System Plus kit? I want a moderate drop in suspension, nothing to extreme.

Rhino76

  • It would definitely be a good idea to get the Steeda X2 Ball Joint Kit (94-04 All), item # 16048, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/stx2bajokit.html). Along with the Pro-System Plus Kit, your Mustang will have excellent handling without the annoying body roll. This Suspension Kit will only give you a 1.1" drop in the front and rear. The drop is not extreme in appearance, but the new suspension will completely change the handling of the car.

Question Resolved

Which is better SR coil-overs or Eibach pro-system-plus for street and course racing?

ricky

  • For road course racing the Eibach Pro-System-Plus (94-04 V8 Coupe, 99-04 V6 Convertible) will be the better option as this will come also with sway bars for better handling.

Question Resolved

i was wondering if this would fit on a 98 gt convertible. if not then do you have a similar package that would fit.

Snakeman

  • The Eibach Pro-System-Plus (94-04 V8 Coupe, 99-04 V6 Convertible) will not fit a 1998 GT convertible. Unfortunately we do not have a similar package that would work for this year.

    Great ride

This is an amazing kit. the car handles like it's on rails, the body doesn't even roll when I'm carving the corners. instal was a bit tough only cause the tie rod ends on the sway bar seamed to be about an 1/8 inch to short. I also changed out my ball joints with the X2 and noticed another 1/2in drop in the front. I will have to say that I wish the rear shocks where a tad bit stiffer but I still love the ones that are on there. Completely different car and would highly recommend this kit a thousand times.

    drop worth the buck

I was able to install this kit in about one weekend with me and a buddy and common hand tools. U'll need the extra hand when it comes to installing those big and heavy sway bars. The instructions that come with the kit are really minimal and don't have much details or any info, so I had to take some time on the side to do some research and get all the right torquing specs. Other then that, this install went with a breeze. Overall great product and craftmanship.

    Amazing suspension!

Bought this in April for my '00 GT. Best mod so far! Was a little expensive but the drive quality improvement is outstanding! I can dive corners no sweat that I couldn't touch on stock suspension. Great product.

Awesome upgrade for my 2003 gt

Awesome for my GT. Increased handling , eliminated nose dive during sudden braking, reduced squatting during aggressive acceleration and aggressive stance. I really can't say enough about this system guys. I've had the system for approximately (3) weeks now. I can't stop grinning while driving. It does everything the manufacturer said it would. The folks at AM did a great job with the video clips. I could go on for quite a while about this system. Thanks AM , you guys did again. I'm excited about this product and I will continue to shop AMERICAN MUSCLE !!!!!!!

Perfect For Cruising on Curvy Roads

Installation is truly a pain when working by yourself and no rack. It isn't impossible to install using jack stands though. You should definitely plan on changing out the ball joints while you're under there as well. I had a slight problem with the front sway bar, and wound up shaving the bolt sleeve by about 1/4 inch in order to get the nut to fasten down. Other than that, the entire kit seemed to be fairly easy and straightforward. Before this kit, taking turns at decently elevated speeds was highly risky due to severe body roll. Now, same curves are easier to take at higher speed with virtually no noticeable body roll. This kit sacrifices ride quality, but the styling and functionality far outweigh the loss.

    98 Cobra

The Eibach suspension kit is all that it is advertised to be. No more body roll, car hugs corners, more aggressive stance, seems like the car is able to launch upon stepping on the accelerator without the car squatting from the torque. My '98 cobra feels like a modern Mustang. I also own a '11 GT 5.0, and '06 GT conv't with 4.6L and I can drive my Cobra with the DOHC as spirited as my other two modern Mustang. And not worry that a near 20 yr old car can handle and more importantly command the road. It does without question. It does not struggle with the inconsistencies of modern roads all around. Well worth the money. Either highway, road ways, in traffic or even better yet on the Autobahn, Eibach has engineered a great product and tuned it, for this specific era mustang beyond factory specs.

    Control Issues Handled

This product package is awesome and by all means does what it is intended to do. Its like I'm driving a whole new vehicle that responds to what I want it to do immediately and I mean it grips turns like its nothing now! I will most likely end up dropping to lower rear springs because there is a little larger wheel well to tire gap then I'd like, but in terms of performance, its solid!
