Ask a Question

Can I use this on a V6 Convertible? My car currently has a V6 but plan to convert to a V8. What issue will I have installing the V8 kit versus the V6?

99GreenVert

  • The spring rates are different on each set, as the V8 kit has to withstand more weight of the eight cylinder engine. What could happen is when you instal the Kit, the ride height will not be as intended due to the weight of your six cylinder.

Improvment over Roush Stage 2? I have a Roush Stage 2 and I was inquiring if this package is an improvement over the Roush hardware.

GiddyupMurse

  • This Eibach Pro-System-Plus (94-04 V8 Convertible, Excludes IRS) should definitely be an improvement over your factory Roush suspension. This Eibach kit will include stiffer shocks and struts, thicker adjustable sway bars, lowering springs, and new bushings.

Question Resolved

Will this kit work on my 1995 coupe? The description says convertible only and the other kit says V6 coupe?

RobbieR

  • This Pro-System is not designed for the 1995 V8 Coupes; it will only fit the 94-04 V8 Convertibles. The kit you are looking for that would fit your '95 V8 Coupe can be found here: http://www.americanmuscle.com/eibach-prosystem-9404.html

What is the diffence between the convertable and coupe kit?

Ryan339

  • The main difference is the Pro-Kit Springs. The coupe and convertible have different lowering springs to support the weight difference between the two cars. You want to make sure you stick to the right kit for your car!

CC plates, bumpsteer, x2 balljoints? Out of all those im the most concerned as to if I will need CC plates, then if I will need a bump-steer kit or x2 balljoints to make this drop work properly.

MichaelHasAMustang

  • If the frame of the vehicle is true, and undamaged, additional components would not be required it install this Eibach Pro-System-Plus. The caster/camber plates, bump steer kit and the Steeda X2 ball joint can be used to further improve the handling of the vehicle, however, the vehicle will perform well without them.

Question Resolved

Is a bumpsteer kit needed with this set up? Given that this is a full kit and drop is minimal, is a bumpsteer kit required?

Kapitichris

  • This kit drops the car 1.3" in the front, and 1.4" in the rear. Although it is not mentioned on the AM website, it is always a good idea to invest in a bump-steer kit when lowering a car more than an inch or so. The kits are inexpensive and easily installed, especially since you will already be working under the front of the car to install the Eibach Pro-System-Plus. Good luck.

All the parts fit exactly as promised and are top quality. The instructions suck though and were it not for a couple of good YouTube videos, I'd not have tried it myself. But the guys at Eibach Tech Support were fantastic and helped me through a couple of tricky spots with regard to spacer and bumpstop placement. Make sure and pre-order the isolator pads, especially for the rear (upper and lower). The front are probably in good shape. Also, make sure to properly position your spring pigtails and don't preload any bushings without putting the weight of the car on them first. And spend the the money on a set of MM Camber Plates! They're worth every penny!

Eibach. Enough said. My car has 127000 miles on it and needed a new shocks. Front right spring was broken as well. I was a little concerned about ride quality. I shouldn't have. Old suspension was so old and loose. New suspension firmed up everything. Not as many squeks and rattles. Did I also mention the new look. Droped car about an inch in back, inch and a quarter front. Noticable drop that looks fantastic. If you have allot of miles on your car and are planning on keeping it for a long time. Invest in this suspension. Its well worth the money and will make driving the car that much better. Did I mention It just looks killer.

    Great handling!

Had this setup on for a few days now and a great improvement over factory. Ride quality is nice considering I have low profile tires. Car stays near level through corners. Car has a better stance as well. Overall a good setup.

    Eibach Pro-System-Plus for Convertible

this is the very first upgrade that I installed to my 2003 Mustang GT and once I installed it I was a little skeptical as to if this suspension was my best choice and once I installed everything on my car I took a few steps back to look at my car and first thing I noticed was that it lowered it quite a bit and it had a good stance too, I loved how it looked and when it came to the handling which is all I really cared about was amazing!! on turns it felt great. I felt like I could go 140 and take a really sharp turn but I wouldn't because then I might flip and die and then the moment I have been waiting for was how well I could catch compared to the stock suspension and man it was a HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! all I can really say is that I love this and I do recommend it .

    From Mustang To Must "Dang"

This product along with BBK Upper and Lower Control Arms & Nexen N3000 tires, MM C/C plates made my Mustang not only look incredible but handle like a squirrel in a tree "complete control at any speed". I live in Missouri country side full of corners some mild others almost double back on themselves but with this set up your in complete control. I can tell you that although this system is designed to work with OE such as your factory camber plate I would go ahead and purchase a set of MM CC Plates just to be safe it truly is cheap insurance. Thanks American Muscle I look forward to doing more business with you in the future.

They just finish installing the eibach mustang pro system plus on my mustang,I have an old 1997 gt mustang and needed new suspension why not just buy the whole kit with new lowering spring that way it has an agresive stance and a ride quality. Now my mustang don't have that big tire gap in the back because with the eibach it brought it down by an inch also a quarter inch in the front it just look amazing. When I took my car on corner road you can feel it firmly planted in the road and no body roll..i would recommend this eibach pro kit if your thinking of lowering your mustang n want great quality.

    Great product

I have a 2000 mustang gt with a full exhaust, FR500 rims and I just recently purchased and installed this system on my car and all I can say is wow I compared my car before and after this system the handling difference is huge, around corners the car doesn't rock as much and it feels a lot stiffer, overall it was def worth the money

    Driving a racing car!

I had to buy this suspension kit because my 2000 Mustang gt needed new shocks and struts and decided to buy the hole kit. All I can say is that you will feel like driving a racing car! It is a pretty solid suspension kit and you can feel the bumps a little more than normal, but when you go on the turns fast it is a carving machine!. I spent about $1400 at the dealership to install this and the chin spoiler and it looks awesome. I totally recommend this item kit it you love your Mustang.

Complete suspension upgrade in one package!

I just finished installing the Eibach Pro-System-Plus suspension kit on my 2000 Mustang GT Convertible and I have to say the components all compliment one another when installed. The ride is a little more stiff than I had expected but not so bad I cant deal with it. The car definately feels firmly planted to the pavement in high speed cornering and body roll is virtually non-existent now... great upgrade!

    Eibach

I installed all the parts without much trouble, everything fitted perfect, except the rear sway bar, I bought new screws for it, the instruction manual says to use stock bolt and screw, it doesn't work at all, need new bolts and screws for the sway bar. Still the materials quality is very good. the car drop is small, not so much difference, but the car drives much more stable now. I changed from stock struds and springs, so this kit was a very noticeable improuvement. The eibach installation manual isnt good(3 sheets of paper for all the kit), only text (not very accurate) and very little images, find yourself install videos and haynes book, it's worth it.

    Great investment!!!

Love this kit! Handling is now excellent and the car sits with a sexy and aggressive stance now, why they didn't come from the factory like this eludes me. Only took about 3 hours to install.

    Pro system plus.

Wow, this system changes the whole car. It's still a very comfortable ride, not bouncy at all. Just firm, controlled and sporty. Corners super flat with no dive or squat. Clearly a well engineered system. Would definitely buy again.

    great suspension

I installed this system with the help from a friend, we did the install on jack stands, which did make it kind of a pain but not as bad as i thought it would, upon completion i drove it to an alignment shop. during that drive i noticed a big improvement in braking ability, the car didnt nose dive during a hard brake, it did lower the car a little a lot more noticeable in the rear than the front. after the alignment i took it for a joy ride. vast improvements from the stock suspension, all but eliminated body roll, i feel like i have more control of the car, barely feel hard corners. i would definitely recommend this suspension especially if it is time to replace the OE shocks and struts you will not regret it one bit
