American Muscle Featured Customer Ride - October 2008

Mike H. of Ventura, CA - American Muscle October 2008 Featured Ride
2004 Competition Orange 40th Anniversary Edition 3.8L V6 Coupe
It is here...the first ever American Muscle Featured Customer Ride! The theme for the inaugural American Muscle Featured Customer Ride Selection was in honor of our customers that are members of one of the forums that we sponsor! In order to submit an entry you had to be a registered user of one of the forums that we sponsor! Entries were judged and selected based off of the total package. Points were scored for overall appearance, modifications, and best use of our products. We pretty much left the vehicle class open on this one, so whether your car was a show car, daily driver, or full race car, it was still eligible to win. Our winner Mike H. of Ventura, CA submitted his 2004 Competition Orange 40th Anniversary Edition 3.8L V6 Coupe for our approval...and boy did we approve! This extremely cleanly and tastefully modded V6 really caught our eye, and we think it will catch yours too! Check out Mike's Mustang's story, modification list, and some eye candy images below!

Mike's Mustang's Story
I'm Mike and I have lived in SoCal since the day I was born. Ever since I was a little kid, I always wanted a mustang. I would always collect Hotwheels and Matchbox cars of every kind of Mustang that I could get my hands on. The dream of owning a Mustang all started when I started high school. I started working for my dad at his shop "Spas West" almost every day after school. He would pay me $10/hr. for helping him out on service calls, and to watch the shop whenever he wasn't able to. I always preferred the New Edge ('99-'04) models over the others, and of course I wanted a fast V8. But no matter how much money I made, my dad just wasn't going to let that happen, since this was going to be my first car. A couple summers past, and now I had my license. I was close to the amount that V6's in good condition with mid-mileage went for. I finally found a '01 Black 3.8 coupe locally. I had big plans for it, but that ended quickly. I let my friend drive it around the block and he totaled it! Surprisingly I got quite a bit more money back than the car was worth from the insurance company. Of course I was going to get another Mustang, even though my dad was still debating it. I saw an ad online for a 2004 Competition Orange 3.8 coupe. I wasn't sure about the color from the pics online, so I decided to go and check it out that evening. As soon as I saw the car sitting in the driveway as we pulled up, I just knew that I was going home with that car. I ended up getting a great deal on it, and it was sitting in my driveway the next morning. I definitely learned my lesson about having any friends drive the car this time. I was the only one who ever going to be driving this car. I think that my car deserves to win this contest because you don't see many Competition Orange Mustangs advertised, or especially any V6's. It's always about the badass GT's/Saleen's/Cobra's. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love 'em to, and hope to own a GT someday, but I think that a nice and cleanly modded sixer needs to have a say in the Mustang world too. I have not entered my car in any shows yet, but it gets looks and compliments everywhere I go!
