Loose Weight. By installing a manual steering rack in place of the stock factory unit you will eliminate the power rack, pump, pulley and rag joint for a total vehicle weight reduction of more than 30 lbs. and every racer knows weight is the enemy. As an added bonus you gain horsepower by reducing parasitic drag.

Superior Construction. Designed to meet the standards of professional street rod and race car chassis builders, this Flaming River manual rack and pinion steering system is constructed from lightweight aluminum castings and features a durable bright chrome finish.

Would this be able to stand up to daily driving? Need to replace my PS pump and lines. Thinking about just going this route and not have to worry about any PS leaks. Not sure if it would handle daily street driving.

    Excellent top of the line!

I went back and fourth whether to convert to this rack and pinion but now I'm glad I did!The handling is smooth and turns like cutting through butter. It took awhile to get it installed since stock tie rod ends don't fit so little research and found a bumpsteer kit from maximum motorsports that was made for 79-93 foxbody's with SN95 A-arms(94-95).then bought a flaming river manual steering shaft and boom it feels like you're steering a rally car down the street lol....oh did I mention the engine winds up a bit faster too!
