Description
True Dual Exhaust. Convert your V6 Pony to a true dual exhaust with the Flowmaster Force II True Dual Catback Exhaust Conversion Kit. This system includes the X-pipe, Catback, and Mufflers needed to give your Mustang an impressive V8 sound and an increase in rear wheel horsepower.

Signature Flowmaster Sound. Add the classic Flowmaster sound you want to your V6 without worrying about attracting unwanted attention with a Flowmaster Force II catback. The Flowmaster 60 Series Delta Flow mufflers give your Pony a deep, aggressive sound at wide open throttle, but don't create a lot of interior noise when cruising. They're a great choice for enthusiasts who want to improve exhaust flow and tone without being obnoxious.

Reuses Stock Cats. The installation of the included Flowmaster V6 X-pipe will require cutting the factory Y-pipe and reuses the stock factory catalytic converters saving you money and keeping you smog legal.

Quality Construction. Constructed from durable 2.25" 409 stainless steel tubing for its corrosion resistant properties, the Flowmaster catback features chambered 60 Series mufflers with massive 3.5" diameter polished stainless steel tips for great muscle car looks and sound. As an added bonus the tips are embossed with the "Flowmaster" logo for true custom styling.

Application. This Flowmaster Force II True Dual Catback Exhaust Conversion Kit is designed to fit the 2005-2009 V6 Ford Mustangs equipped with the 4.0L V6 engine. Reuses the stock factory Catalytic Converters.

Technical Note: This Flowmaster system attaches after your factory catalytic converters to convert your single exhaust to a true dual exhaust from the cats back. Modifications or a new rear bumper valance are required to accommodate the dual pipes. AmericanMuscle recommends a GT Rear Bumper or a Shelby GT500/CS Rear Bumper Cover (sold separately).

Note: When buying a dual cat-back or axle-back exhaust kit for your 2005 and newer V6 Mustang, you will need to select the "2005+ Mustang 304 Stainless Steel Exhaust Hanger Kit" from the drop down option menu above to properly install your new exhaust.

Great rumble behind a 4 liter !

Sounds fairly loud with a good rumble but not obnoxious to have you crazy. Inside cabin volume went up a little but it sounds amazing ! Great mod and a must have !

    Great Sounding System

    May 23, 2013

I have always been a fan of Flowmaster. This is a great sounding exhaust during acceleration, at idle it has a nice low rumble but doesn’t have that loud droning at highway speeds. My car was recently struck in the back and I decided to have the body shop install the Flowmaster exhaust over re-installing the Pypes system that was on it before. Came out looking very nice, fit well, especially with the GT bumper cover I had them install. I personally like the Flowmaster a lot better that the Pypes system I had on it before, deep rumble but without being obnoxious. If you like it really loud I wouldn’t recommend this for you. I would usually install this myself but since it was in for bodywork I had them do it while the car was apart. I can only tell you what the shop told me as far as the install, “it was a royal pain to install and took me 3 to 4 hours with a couple guys helping out, but it sounds really nice”. He ended up welding it instead of using the clamps and he dropped the driveshaft and lowered the axle to get it in. Overall I’m very happy with the Flowmaster system, would definitely choose it again.

    Love the sound!!!

    April 28, 2013

For most people. they want a full on V8 sound with their Sixxer. If you want that, don't buy this exhaust. It makes the 4.0 sound like a very nice V6, with a nice rumble at idle and then brings out the European sound of the V6 when you get on it. For those worried about breaking the 95 dB law in certain states or overseas, this one sits right at 93.2 dB for sound, so it's loud enough to notice, but not loud enough to get a ticket! As for installation, it says direct fit, also says to cut off 12" off the stock exhaust I believe (Put it on over 2 years ago, can't remember exactly), you have to cut more. I would recommend taking it to a shop, it took my wife and I around 6 hours to get it installed correctly (comes with clamps, I welded it instead) and its not the first exhaust job I've done. A pain to put on, but worth it, and the 3" polished tips are nice. Overall, I love it, and will definitely buy Flowmasters again, I would recommend getting it powder coated to keep the rust away, which I will do next time.

    Sounds awesome!!!!

    December 09, 2013

I bought this exhaust for my mustang and it sounds awesome. It took about 4 1/2 hrs to install. The only negative thing I have to say about this kit is the fitment sucks. The pipes were too long so we ended up cutting a good inch off the flow master. We dropped the suspension to get the rest of it in. I would definitely weld this kit. We used the clamps, but found out one of them was not keeping tight which made the muffler hang low. 2 screws fixed that but I will be getting it welded soon.

    Great sound for a sixer

    May 26, 2014

Fit-wise, this product was a BEAR to install, had to wait for a second set of hands to coerce it to go in. But it IS possible with little more than a couple jack stands and a jack. The instructions tell you to cut AND grind the supports for the factory y-pipe off, but I didn't want to risk an exhaust leak and it would have required dropping the exhaust at the cats. So instead we cut a couple inches off the BACK of the Scavenger X-pipe and everything fit after that. The over-axle pipes are tricky to get in place, your rear end needs to be WAY in the air with the axle hanging so you have clearance. Recommend a lift, but it's possible to do without one. The first fire up was so worth it! It sounds beefy at startup for a six-cylinder then quiets down after it warms up. I've got stock gears (3.31 rear gear) and it starts to drone at about 85 (80 on the perf tune) but it's got a nice sound!

Excellent Exhaust for your V6 Mustang!

    August 24, 2014

I should have done this a long time ago. It makes sound so much better. Especially around 3,000-4,000 RPM just opens her up. As for a bit more HP, probably some but not very noticeable however I wanted it more for the sound and it does deliver but it isn't too loud to attract "unwanted" attention for those who know what I'm talking about.
