Do I need to request a new tune for these if I already have a tune for other upgrades and 8mm wires?

  • Spark plug wires do not require a new tune.

Will these wires fit into my stock wire looms for 8mm wires? If not, do you know a good place to get new looms? I've seen a lot on the web, but would prefer a ford product.

  • I had no problems using my 8mm looms. Its a tight fit but its does the job.

    Almost perfect

Wires are a bit longer than stock but if you take your time you can still get them to look nice and neat. I found that that stock wire looms technically could handle these 9mm wires but if your looms are like mine they are brittle. I had about a 50 break rate with the original looms so you might want to buy some looms made for 9mm wires. The only problem I had is that one of the wires was defective and was causing misfires. I'm guessing this is not a very common thing. I've notified americanmuscle and I assume they will remedy with a replacement wire.

    Great product!

I have a 1996 mustang cobra and had the stock wires still on the car. I bought these red ones and love them! They don't fit your stock wire looms so you'll have to get bigger ones but these definitely add a sportier look than the stock blue ones in my opinion.

    Ford Racing Wires

Seem to be great quality, thick wires. Would recommend these over MSD were I have blown two of those in the last set. These seem to be holding up just fine.

    Nice product

Nice product. I would have preferred a new set though. I received a used set and had to clean them up a little before the install but I am still happy.

Look great, and function very well!

I bought these wires after one of my MSD wires split. These wires have some extra length built in for easier routing and organization. My ignition coil packs are located out of the stock location because I have a procharger and these wires still had no issue reaching my coil packs. The red color really stands out and the 9mm thickness is great for better spark.

    Great Upgrade!

My stock plugs were gunked up and torn apart. These both look great under the hood, and has gotten this snake running great again.

FORD RACING HIGH PERFORMANCE 9MM SPARK PLUG WIRES - RED (96-98 COBRA)

97 Cobra with 51k miles. I had been experiencing a miss-fire at mid to high rpm. Replaced the factory FORD RACING HIGH PERFORMANCE 9MM SPARK PLUG WIRES. Wow what a difference, pulls strong to 6800 rpm. Great value, easy install, fast shipping. Thanks American Muscle.

A good fit for my vehicle

The wires were just a bit longer than my previous set, but I would rather have them longer than shorter. Overall, considering the engine and how difficult it is to work on in the first place, the wires went on pretty easy.

    1997 cobra

I put these wires on my 97 cobra and even though they are a little thicker than the oem wires the fit is still good and snug. I recommend these wires especially for an easier start to a higher mileage car.

    Easy choice

For my power setup (not much more than stock), this is the best choice in my opinion. Their slim diameter makes them easy to fit into wire looms and you hardly run into problems with Ford Racing products. Make sure to study the stock wiring in your system before removing the old to install the new. If you want the real, professional look of neatly routed wires, it takes time and patience.

    Nice

These wires replaced some old ford blue ones that had been on the car for 5 years..The car fires up ALOT faster, the engine bay looks better, and it also fixed my misfire. Car was running bad..hesitating, missing, bogging down. This cured it.

    Worked Well, very pleased!!

These were to go along with the new MSD coil packs I had just purchased with this order and the MSD DIS-4 ignition system I have on my Cobra. I'll have to say with the new Bama X-4 tuner and tunes all of these items have made my 97 come to life. Thanks American Muscle for some great service and top notch products.

    Good stock replacement

Wires fit great and are marked per cylinder which make for easy installation. These wires are 9mm and do not fit factory seperators so aftermarket seperators are needed for a professional looking installation.
