Great product, I needed the clearance for my valve covers and got plenty, my only complaint is the new intake bolts are easily a 1" too long and stick out of the top of my intake. When I asked customer ...

I see some people saying that the bolts could be too long? And sticking up past the intake. So if this happens what size bolt do I need? and will this kit work for the explorer gt40?

  • The Ford Performance 5.0L 1 in. ETI Heat Spacer Cobra Intake (86-95) is specifically for 5.0s, so no. If you had a 5.0 with those GT-40s then you would be totally fine with this product.

Will the 1" spacer and a GT40 intake clear the stock hood on my 94 GT?

  • Hi,unfortunately we can not verify if this Ford Performance 5.0L 1 in. ETI Heat Spacer Cobra Intake will cause hood clearance problems because each car is a bit different with sag/droop of the unibody, motormount choice, etc. You'll have to measure yours and see how much clearance you have.

I just bought a GT40 intake for my 94 GT. With this 1" spacer, will everything clear the stock hood?

    Great product

Great product, I needed the clearance for my valve covers and got plenty, my only complaint is the new intake bolts are easily a 1" too long and stick out of the top of my intake. When I asked customer service about it I was advised to cut them an thread them myself.... Isn't that their job ? To make sure the new bolts are the right length for mounting ? Anyways, other than that it's a great product, HP increase and performance. American muscle is great, ford racing needs to get their bolts straight.

    Great

Got this to help clear tall valve covers. It worked great just make sure you have hood clearance. I have a cowl hood so was okay. Also I don't have a strut tower brace because of a different intake but I'm assuming that would be an issue too. Might be some gains but nothing noticed.

    Bolts not the right length

The spacer looks good and easy to install. Not sure if it actually makes a big difference. But I had to special order the right length bolts. It came with them, but they were too long. You would think Ford Racing would know the correct length.

    Spacer is nice

The spacer is nice, other than that kinda a headache all the bolts are a half inch to long I got 4 long bolts and 2 short bolts. So had to measure out exact length I need and go to hardware store, which didn't have long enough bolts so had to cut the long ones. For $80 dollars a little ridiculous. It comes straight from ford racing to am so somebody needs to fix that problem.
