The Ford Performance High Torque Mini Starter would be a great option for all '96 to 2018 V8 powered Mustangs, excluding those Shelby GT350s who are looking to replace a worn out or defective stocker, or maybe even wanna go with a smaller unit to clear a set of aftermarket long tube headers. Now, the Ford Performance option will feature more cranking power than that factory starter, it's gonna weigh in at right around six pounds and it's gonna cost prospective buyers right around 250 bucks. The site calls this install two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and about an hour or two of your time to get in place, and we'll talk about that a little bit more later in the video. So again, I feel like this product will be appealing for two big reasons, first and foremost, as a high powered replacement for a high mileage or failing factory starter. Now, for a full disclosure guys, if you wanted to grab a remanufactured stocker at your local parts store, you're gonna do so for roughly half the cost of the Ford Performance option here. But you have to keep in mind that this is a 100% new part and is not rebuilt or remanufactured. Now on top of that new construction, this starter also boasts more cranking power compared to the factory option which is always good to know and might even be helpful to guys who live in colder climates, to help with some of those cold weather starts which can be a little difficult from time to time. Another big reason V8 owners might wanna entertain the mini starter here from Ford Performance is size, a lot of guys run into fitment issues when swapping to a set of long tube headers in a number of generations. But especially on coyote swap applications in a Foxbody or even an SN95 and this little guy here has been the solution to a lot of problems, at least on the site, in addition to on the forums. On top of that guys, this is gonna be roughly six pounds which is gonna save you a couple pounds over that stocker which I get it, it isn't a ton of weight in the process but certainly is worth pointing out. Now, Ford Performance also tosses in a new set of cables to be used with the install which depending on your Gen in your garage setup will either be a one beer install or a few beers. So because of that, we're gonna go middle of the road, two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here and at least an hour or two in the garage from start to finish. You will need to get under the car here so get the jack and jack stands ready or a lift if you have access. And also get your socket set ready to go to remove some cable connections along with the factory starter before you go installing the new Ford Performance option. So whether you're looking to upgrade a busted factory option or you just wanna make a little bit more room for those long tube headers, the Ford Performance High Torque Mini Starter would be a great choice and you can grab yours right here at americanmuscle.com.
