Description
Peace of Mind. When replacing your clutch you have two options, resurfacing your old stock flywheel, or getting a brand new flywheel. A new flywheel is a much better choice than resurfacing, as the flywheel will dictate how well your clutch will perform, as well as how long it will last.

Cast for Strength. This Ford Racing Flywheel is cast from nodular iron for extra strength and features a ring gear of 164 teeth, as well as a six bolt pattern. This flywheel is the perfect companion to your new Ford Racing Clutch.

Application. This Ford Racing Nodular Iron 0oz Flywheel fits the 1996-1998 GT Mustangs with a six bolt main and a 10.5" clutch only.

  • If your crank has the 6 bolt pattern, yes it should work.

Very good price and perfect fit on 96 mustang gt

Replaced tranny and clutch so while I was in there I replaced the flywheel that had been in there for 400,000 miles and just sanded every time clutch was replaced. Well paid to get it turned and ended up losing money cause the hot spots on it were higher up than the rest of the flywheel. So I got this one for a good price and it worked perfectly. But no matter how it looks it will only go on one way so remember that cause I thought the bolt pattern was wrong for a minute

    love this site

Best option vs. resurfacing flywheel. Why resurface to save a few dollars when a new one isn't much more.

    piece of cake

This is going on a new engine so I didn't have to put it on in the car. I had previously balanced the engine so I had the flywheel balanced separately. The shop commented that it took very little to bring it in, less than some billet wheels they have done. Since I was going from automatic to standard I bought new flywheel bolts and new clutch bolts. The flywheel already had the pins in it so that was one less thing I had to come up with. In the past I have used nodular wheels on some pretty stout FEs and have never had a problem with failure, so, I am fairly confident I won't have a problem on a basically stock 4.6.

    Flywheel

Once again AM makes it possible to own a 98 mustang gt manual trans. Literally no auto shop or junkyard had a flywheel for a manual. They could order used ones for $160 of course AM had the stock style ford racing for $140, so far so good replaced my clutch and all that at the same time, feels better than before and I got it in 2 days (michigan). My old flywheel had been machined to much already. I was confused if this flywheel was meant for stock hp setups but a call to AM cleared that up quick. I've bought a lot from this website and will continue to do so, thanks AM

    this is perfect

I have an odd year mustang gt 2000-2001. the car has a romeo block (6 bolt patter) with a t-45 tranny. This is perfect even though the description says 96-98 GT. for all the people that might not know, since the t-45 was stopped and the tr3650 was put into the later mustangs, if you are one of those people that has a romeo block (11 valve cover bolts, 6 bolt flywheel setup) and a "older" t-45 tranny (it says it on the sticker on the door and under the tranny itself), this is the flywheel u need! dont trust the vin! my vin said i had a windsor engine but i dont! anyway everything hooked up smooth, it feels good and i put an exedy 350 stage 1 clutch and i have absolutely no complaints. this is the best flywheel.
