  • Tight responsive handling
  • Lowers Center of Gravity
  • Standard Spring Rate
  • Estimated Drop: Front - 1.6”, Rear - 1.5”
  • Fits 1999-2004 SVT Cobra coupes
Description
Responsive Handling. H&R Race Springs offer tight responsive handling and more control than that of the factory springs. These standard rate Race Springs drastically reduce body roll in the turns, squat during acceleration, and excessive nose-dive under hard braking by lowering the vehicles center of gravity. H&R Race springs are perfect for aggressive street driving, but still comfortable enough for daily use.

Muscle Car Stance. The H&R Race Springs not only improve the overall handling of your Cobra Mustang, but they also improve the appearance by lowering the ride height approximately 1.6" in the front and 1.5" in the rear to eliminate that nasty 4x4 truck look for a more aggressive muscle car stance.

Recommended Upgrade. When installing new springs you should also replace your old worn out rubber Spring Isolators with a new set of Polyurethane Spring Isolators, see drop down option above.

Application. This set of four H&R Race Springs are designed specifically for use on the 1999 to 2004 SVT Cobra Coupes equipped with independent rear suspension (IRS). Will not fit convertible models.

Aggressive! Not Ghetto!

They gave my 03 cobra a much more aggressive stance and look. Its came down just enough to keep it classy and sinister looking and stiffend up the rid a bit. noticable in turns but comfy.

Ask a Question

Are front and rear isolators needed? Why can you only include front spring isolators from the drop down menu? Are rear isolators not needed?

DrewN

  • while not required, spring isolators are highly recommended! I took a look on the site and looks like AM doesn't carry the rear spring isolators for the 99-04 Cobra (independent rear suspension). So best bet would be buy the front at same time as springs from AM and then contact Maximum Motorsports for the rear isolators.

Are new shocks and struts needed when installing? Just wondering if new shocks and struts are a must or recommendation when installing lowering springs? My Cobra has 64,000 miles on it. Thanks!

Wolfpack76

  • I would highly recommend new shocks and struts. Something adjustable to compliment the springs that you can dial in to your liking would be a very good approach. If not you will likely find problems with your current shocks and struts after you install the new springs.

will theses fit my mach 1

stangpainter

  • No, they are specifically designed for the Cobra. You would want to the Race Springs meant for a Mach. Check out the link below!

    2004 Cobra

Fastest shipping ive ever experienced from ordering online. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff phone support. The original owner of my car cut the springs an made the car way to low. I ordered the H+R race springs, install was fairly simple. The ride is great, not to stiff not to soft. You can drive on the streets and not need a kidney belt but when you want performance and handling its right there, i would highly recommend these springs to anyone, best springs ive ever run. Thanks again American Muscle will be pleased to due business with you guys in the near future.

    Good choice

I was worried about these not giving me the amount of drop I wanted, but my car is slammed! They aren't anywhere near as stiff as I was expecting either. There aren't many choices for our irs, but these are a good one!

Looks great, stopped front end float!

I live in Europe and track day my 99 Cobra a lot; I used to have really bad front end float over 115mph. These springs in conjunction with everything else you should be putting on your lowered stang made a HUGE difference! I now stay planted on the pavement at 160 and my car looks like it should have from factory! Great springs, great price and great service from AM!
