These are the hawk performance ceramic front brake pads for 2015 and newer GTs with the performance package. You're gonna wanna check out the hot pads if you're looking for a ceramic brake pad replacement upgrade that's quiet, has low dust levels and a long life. Currently the only other replacement option is a semi-metallic compound pad which is gonna have different characteristics in these pads too. The install for these is not difficult it's a one out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter and plan on spending about two hours getting these installed. When shopping for brakes you have a few things you should consider. You need to consider what you're looking for, whether it's just pads or pads and rotors. What exactly you want from the brakes, like the level of performance and what you do with your car. Whether it's just a street car or it sees track time, and some finer details like dust levels, noise levels, and of course the life of the brakes. These pads are direct replacement upgrades for the performance pack GTs. So if you're just looking for a more aggressive pad than your stock pads, or if you're looking to replace some worn out pads these will be a direct replacement upgrade. The brake pads are an important piece to your braking system because they're directly in contact with a friction surface so you wanna make sure that you're getting the right brake pads for your application and for your rotors. These are ceramic pads, which is a harder compound than other brake pads. And this is how they fight against brake fade and they give you more stopping power with a lower level of dust. Hawk offers these pads to give you an option that's very quiet and it reduces any brake NVH, or noise vibration and harshness. Sometimes when you switch to a harder compound break pad you end up with noisy brakes. Of course, these will give you better stopping power and they aren't going to be as harsh on the rotors either. Semi-metallic pads are known to be harsh on rotors but ceramic pads aren't, so you'll have a long life on the pads and on the rotors too, with very low dust levels. The downside to a ceramic brake pad is that they tend to to be a little bit more expensive than other options because they do have those nice characteristics. The quiet operation, the little to no dust levels, the longer lifespan, and being easy on the rotors. Of course, all of that doesn't come without a price and expect to spend just under $150 mark for these pads, which is more expensive than your other semi-metallic options. When it comes to the install, you can expect an easy install, a one out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter, and at two hours tops. You need a basic socket side to get this done and you can do this job on a jack and jack stands. For a general overview of the install you're looking at needing to pull your front wheels. You tap out two retaining pins that hold the pad in place on the caliper. With the pins removed you pull the pads out of the calipers. You need to compress the caliper pistons to get the new pads in. And you can do this with a tool if you'd like, but you don't necessarily need one to do it. The pads will slide into place and you put your clips and your pins back in, and that's all it's going to take. Wrapping things up here at the hawk performance ceramic front brake pads. These are for the 2015 and newer GT Mustangs with the performance pack. You can check them out more online right here at americanmuscle.com.
