Review & Install Video

Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m taking a closer look at a new product from Raxiom, I have with me their smoked and chrome HID projector headlights, equipped with the CCFL halo accents, for all 2013 and newer Mustangs. Raxiom’s whole philosophy is that lights just aren’t for seeing but also for being seen, so with that in mind they produce a wide variety of unique and stylish aftermarket lighting for your Mustang, all backed by an industry leading full 2 year warranty. Speaking of being seen, if you want to see the rest of Raxiom’s very cool lineup, just go ahead and subscribe to our YouTube channel, all you need to do is simply click the link below or up in the corner, this way you can keep tabs on the rest of Raxiom’s products as well as other product overviews. So even though the 2014 headlights are pretty badass in stock form, they just aren’t radical enough for some Mustang owners out there. Enter Raxiom and their very unique CCFL Halo projectors, available in either smoked, or chrome. Styling wise, the two options will offer their own unique touch, for instance the smoked option uses a black housing to give you a dark sinister look on the front end, that is always a very popular choice here on the site. On the other hand the chrome housing may be for someone who’s looking to retain a more OE look, but with the benefits of those cool halos and some other features. And if you’re not already on the site, just go ahead and click the link below to head back to the product page, where you can see both sets of headlights installed on actual customer rides. While you’re here you can actually learn a little more about the lights themselves, in addition to reading some customer reviews who have these lights installed on their Mustangs. Getting back to some of the other features Raxiom has included, for starters they have included these bright white LEDs here that illuminate along with the CCFL halos, in place of those stock LED bars on the factory headlights. Raxiom has still used the factory style HID lens here, so you can still expect that bright focused beam of light just like you would with the factory headlights. One of the nicest things about these headlights is that they utilize all the factory HID wiring and lighting including the stock G3S bulbs and ballasts, which do have a place right here on the new headlight housings, you simply swap everything over and you’re good to go. Because the install itself it is pretty straightforward, it should only take you about an hour from start to finish, of course you will need to drop the front bumper down slightly just to gain access to all the bolts, but everything else is completely plug and play. Of course if you should get a little jammed up you can always get in touch with one of our Mustang experts, give them a buzz at 1-855-422-7439, or shoot them an email at support@AmericanMuscle.com. So if you’re looking to change up the attitude of that new Mustang using some CCFL halo accents, then be sure to check out one of these smoked or chrome headlight options from Raxiom, available right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Hi, The previous owner mounted Raxiom smoked projector with halo headlight on the car that I now have. Is it possible to get the halos turned on at the same game as the 3 small led:s? My car has the auto light feature, and I like the halos to work as DRL:s. Would really appreciate if you could support with wiring suggestions. Thanks Patric

  • Unfortunately, these Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights will not work on a 2011 Mustang, as they are for 2013 and 2014 with factory HID. The links below would be the equivalent headlight for the 2010-12 models. • Thank you for your question about the Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights - CCFL Halo (13-14 GT, V6 with Factory HID). These headlights are DOT compliant, so they should be fine for use in Oklahoma. To confirm the legality of any modification in a specific state, we would recommend referencing your state and local laws.

With the smoked headlights would I be sacrificing my vision in the dark ? I had a tint cover on my older model mustang and I had to drive with my fogs and highbeams on because of how bad it was

  • Whenever doing tint or smoked headlights you will be sacrificing your visibility at night. With doing the Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights - CCFL Halo (13-14 GT, V6 with Factory HID) you will lose some visibility at night.

So i know that the halos are only when you put on the parking lights. is there a way to switch it where they turn on with the parking lights. or unplug the marker lights that come on with the parking lights because i don't even use the parking lights?

  • With the Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights - CCFL Halo, the halo and LED accents can be wired to turn on whenever you would like them to. But that will require some custom wiring on your end.

Anyone know if these headlights will fit the 2010-2012 mustangs?

    Aggressive looking but poor visibility

I had these headlights installed last year. Overall, they look aggressive and the quality was pretty good. However, with the black projector and the tinted len, the visibility was horrible. Be honest, light output cutted at least 30 and the high beam was kinda useless.(They are able to light up high trees and Traffic signs but not able to cover the road) I live in ohio. Light means life here. Trust me, if you live in NYC, these lights work perfectly for you mustang. If you live in place like Ohio, don't do it. A set of fog lights won't help you a lot.

My stock driver side headlight broke because of flying road debris so I was looking for a set of new lights. I had seen these raxiom lights before on AM. Anyway I bought them and installed it. Super easy to install and fits perfectly. Took me less than 30 minutes from start to finish with the use of some power tools. You do have to transfer the HID bulb from your stock lights. Overall I recommend these lights.

    terrible light output, TERRIBLE

These look awesome but the visibility at night is awful. I knew it would be worse but this is pathetic. My fog lights brighten the road better and yes they are aimed correctly. however I just installed the oem projectors into the raxiom housing with a bit a fab work. The projectors in these I terrible. that's why the light output sucks. The reflector inside the projector isn't even shiny. how do you reflect light of something that isn't shiny? stupid. But the oem ones install in the raxiom housings have a much brighter and larger beam. Its fantastic. I wish raxiom would put a better projector in.

    So very awesome!!

Ever since i saw Need for Speed i had a serious craving for the halos. Since my car is silver, i figured id get the smoked lights to have the silver/black color combo which is beautiful of course, and it looks jsut as amazing as it sounds. Forewarning. Because the lenses are smoked, your headlights go out about half as far as they used to, so you will have to sue your highbeams to get normal visibility. Something to consider if your stang is your daily car. As a matter of fact im gonna switch to the chrome finish soon. If you do not have the standard GT fog lights, i recommend you get the chrome finish. The GT fogs add extra light and without those, your visibility is extremely limited, so....forewarning lol

    Looks sick

A lot of reviews claim poor visibility, and yes visibility is lessened from stock but not as much as some customers claim. Paired these with he halo fogs and I can see fine without the fogs on at night. The overall look is awesome! I unlock from a distance and get all excited like a little girl walking up to my car. Don't judge me! Install was a breeze just follow instructions.

    Huge improvement over stock HIDs

I had these headlights installed while my car was getting a new bumper installed (along with the Roush grill). One headlight had a cracked support, so I decided to replace both with this smoked set. Combined with the Roush grill, it made a gigantic difference in the look of the car. I've only had them for a day now, but it turned a lot of heads on my commute. These lights give the car a much more aggressive look which I prefer over the admittedly nice stock lights. Light output doesn't seem to be affected compared to stock, despite these lights being darker by nature. My mechanic who installed them said it wasn't very fun, so I was glad I had all the work done at the same time. I would absolutely recommend these if you're in the market for a new set of headlights and want the halo-esque look these lights will provide.

    Great appearance

Raxiom made a great product with these headlight lamps. Fairly easy to install the only pain was dealing with the D3S bulbs and how they need to be seated, of course you run into the common like adjustments. Visible light was diminished by about 20% but that can be fixed by purchasing brighter lights. The cut lines don't level up well but that is minor. Tip would be to set projection slightly higher then factory.

    Demon Eyes

Removing the bumper actually took me alot longer than 1 hour. This is due to the rather poorly explained instructions. However, the actual installation of the headlights was quite simple. When paired with the Raxiom smoked halo foglights on a GT, the front of your car looks freeking MEAN. Seriously. There's already too many Mustangs on the road as it is, so do yourself the favor and set yourself apart!

    Awesome!

I bought these headlights for my 2014 black mustang GT and they look great! They change the whole look of the front end and really give it that blacked out, stealthy look. I was kind of nervous about installing them myself but i went ahead and did it anyways. As long as you follow the detailed instructions you'll be good to go and it'll save you the $200 a shop would charge you. Great product.

    Ooooo that look!

I have to agree with the previous reviewers; the visibility of these lights at night is less than desirable. Light output is cut down significantly and the light beam projected from the headlights does not disperse well to cover the road. Also, the high beams are a little weird too; when selected a shutter in the headlight housing opens to let the light above the cutoff mark shine through. It's great for lighting up signs and high trees, but not so much for roads. If you don't already have a set of fog-lights, I'd highly recommend picking up a set to install with these. Ok,so that's the bad. The good, these lights will make your stang look absolutely amazing. The lights completely changed the front end of the car and if your going for the "murdered out" look, this is a no brainer. You will most certainly turn heads with the halos on or off. The 3 led lights on the side of each light grab attention too. Installation was not bad once you get the bumper off. You have to be careful when transferring the HID bulbs from the factory housing. The included instructions mention that you have to completely remove the screw to hold the bulb in the housing, but loosening the screw is sufficient. You'll also have to undo a metal retaining clip that holds the bulb in the housing, nothing major, but would have been nice to have those instructions. All in all, this is a great looking product that can't be beat in terms of how it makes the stang look. It will definitely separate you from all the other stangs on the road because most folks choose to keep their factory headlights. That said, be prepared to be disappointed by the overall light output because there is a noticeable reduction once installed.
