Easy install, but the mounting holes in the product were not drilled to the correct size. Everything else was excellent, product work as specified. Would purchase again

Do I have to remove any existing under carriage parts to put these on

Worm Year: 2005 Model: GT

  • There are two plastic splash shields ahead of the rear wheels (1 per side), that will need to be removed and trimmed a little to make the bars fit up against the underside of the car. The brackets for the parking brake cable will need to be removed as well, but will be re installed in their original holes. The front cradle bolts behind the front wheels need to be removed to allow space for the subframe connectors to slide in. You will need blue loctite when re installing all bolts, and a good torque wrench.

    Definitely does it's job!

My local Ford dealer installed this for $65, so don't even consider installing it yourself. The car needs to be lifted with all 4 wheels down at ride height, so the existing frame isn't torqued in any way, and an alignment rack is the only way to go. Plus subframe bolts need to be loosened as part of the install, so you need the torque specs for reassembly, and some trimming of an under panel is required. At first I considered having these welded in, since someone told me bolting doesn't do much to stiffen the subframe. Boy where they wrong! It stiffened the subframe so much that my next track session required softening of my front sway bar due to the under-steer the connectors introduced. That was a good thing given I was at max stiffness on the front sway bar, with nowhere to go from there. Well worth the money.
