Description
Improves Handling. The most popular progressive rate spring in H&R's line-up, Super Sport Springs will lower your Mustangs center of gravity, to reduce squat during acceleration, body roll in the corners, and excessive nose-dive under hard braking. Sport Springs feature more control than that of the stock factory springs, but are still comfortable enough for daily driving and occasional track use.

Aggressive Stance. The H&R Super Sport Springs not only improve the handling of your S197 Mustang, but they also improve the overall appearance by lowering the ride height approximately 1.7" in the front and 2.4" in the rear to eliminate that nasty raised 4x4 truck look for a more aggressive muscle car stance.

Application.
This set of four H&R Super Sport Springs are designed specifically for use on the 2011-2014 Coupe and Convertible Mustangs, including the V6 and GT models. Does not fit the Shelby GT500.

AMAZING!!

Springs lowered the exact amount they said they would(1.7" front, 2.4" rear). Looks killer after intallation. Ride quality is awesome and actually not much different than stock, however feels much tighter

fitment question: I just ordered 20x9, 20x11 staggered forgestar F14s with nitto invo tires from you...will these springs work or are they too low? I love the look of the drop but think these springs may be too much of a drop for the tire and wheel combo I intend to install (forgestar F14 20x9 and 20x11 with nitto invo 255's and 295's). Thank You...

  • Any of our wheel / tire kits should work with these springs without a problem. I know that we've had plenty of 20" wheels on our 2011+ cars with both H&R and Eibach kits without any rubbing problems.!

2 part question for this one part.. So these are for both GT and V6 models it says the drop is 1.7 in the front 2.4 in the back.. Any idea what the more specific drop for the V6 would be? I want it lowered and leveled, And will I need anything else with these, parts wise? Or can these be a bone stock application? Thanks

  • If you lower your car this much you will need two other items. One is an adjustable panhard bar for the rear to center your axle after you lower the car (lowering will shift the axle towards the drivers side slightly). Second, you will need Eibach camber adjustment bolts for the front struts because lowering the front changes the camber angle and this is non-adjustable on your car. The alignment shop should be able to adjust the camber correctly afterwards to prevent tire wear. There are some really good Youtube videos on both the panhard bar and camber bolts that should make the installation much easier. If you go really low, you will need a bumpsteer kit to correct the tie rod angles. Hope that helps!

Springs okay for daily driver or just track car? I know these springs are pretty low so I wanted to know if the stiffness of the spring and how low it is, is fine for daily diving? Does it annoy anyone and what does it scrape on? Can I still street race? Thanks!

  • I feel these are the best springs out there. I scrape a little on the tall stuff but stagger it a little and you are fine. I daily drive with these and like them way better than stock. I had Eibachs in before these and to be honest, hated them compared to these. You will love em.

Springs lowered the exact amount they said they would(1.7" front, 2.4" rear). Looks killer after intallation. Ride quality is awesome and actually not much different than stock, however feels much tighter overall and less b"boat" like. My only gripe would be that the front could use maybe an extra quarter inch lower.

    The car looks freakin' sexy.

    November 24, 2011

I love the way my 'stang looks with these springs! It rides a lot stiffer now and you really need to crawl over speed bumps, but the handling has totally improved. My only concern is a creaking and popping sound coming from the right side front strut mount after only about 200 miles. Any ideas or upgrades to help me out would be great. Note: I reused the original strut mounts. Thanks again!

    • Response from AmericanMuscle

When installing springs, due to the compressing and decompressing of the springs, sometimes the strut mounts can creak and make noise if the stock ones are reused. I would recommend replacing the strut mounts to fix the problem.

    Great buy

    March 31, 2011

I got these on the presidents day sale awhile back for a great deal. Over all they look great, the car sits flat and low just as I hoped. The ride quality is great given the amount of drop on stock shock/struts, a little bouncy at times but again well within my expectations. Driving, the car has better turn in and feels much more solid and in control, I'm very pleased with my choice. As with any springs I think a good set of aftermarket shock/struts would make these perfect.

    Springs

    November 09, 2012

I installed the springs about a week ago. the install was simple and took me and my friend a little over 2 hours for all four. the back two springs are really quick. Make sure to disconnect the front brake lines when lowering your rotor so you dont put any tension on them. The drop looks really nice. 10000 times better than the stock look. looks really good in the back with the 305 tire. hopefully the springs will continue to compress and lower the front just a little more then it will be perfect. over all great bang for the buck. suspension is also really stiff, you can really feel every bump now too haha, its a really sporty feel which i happen to like.

    Lowered just right

    February 21, 2012

I love the ride height. I have Shelby Off-set 20” wheels and it does not rub, which was my worry. The lower center of gravity will really help in the turns. I took the car to VIR and ran the road course before and after. Big difference. You will need to get a spring clamp from the auto parts store to do the fronts. They have a deal where you buy it, use it, and return it.

    Awesome but be very careful!

    June 25, 2011

Looks awesome but you need to be very careful driving because the bottom of the car will drape when going into and out of driveways

WOW !!! What A Difference, 2014 Sittin Pretty

    April 29, 2014

Everything is perfect, ride is a bit bumpy,,,well what do you expect?? The front could be a little lower as a few have mentioned... for under 300.00 and done in an afternoon you cant beat it !!!! I did it the old fashion way,, no power tools and a harbor freight compressor,,, which worked perfectly !!!! 12.99 5 hours after turning that spring comp 4 times ,,,still not bad for hand tools,,, I know I could do it in 2.5 in a shop :) Also on line instruction's were spot on !!!! All in with compressor was 272.98.... COMEONE MAN !!!

    The stance in your stang!

    April 13, 2011

The lowering spring kit is pretty easy to install, the hardest part was waiting to see the new low finished look. And if your Mustang is new, everything comes off and on without a glitch. Not only is the handling way better, but you‘ll see a noticeable difference parked next to stock stang!
