Description
Increases Power. Now you can add even more horsepower and torque to your coyote powered Mustang with a JBA Catted shorty X pipe, for power you can feel throughout the RPM band. A JBA catted X pipe when combined with a set of JBA Long Tube Headers will greatly improve your GT's exhaust flow increasing horsepower, torque, and throttle response.

Race Car Growl. This free flowing JBA Catted X-Pipe for your 2011-2013+ 5.0-powered GT not only increases power, but with its modern "X" crossover pipe design it also adds a crisp, raspy, race car growl to the sound of your exhaust.

Quality Construction. The JBA catted shorty X pipe is made to last using durable 3" stainless steel tubing. The tubing is mandrel-bent so there are no kinks to rob you of power. The catalytic converters are constructed from a ceramic substrate for high flow and long life.

Required Upgrade. This 3" to 3" Mid Pipe requires the use of an aftermarket 3" catback exhaust system, as the factory catback is too small at only 2.75".

Application. This JBA 3" catted shorty x-pipe is designed to fit the 2011-2014 5.0L GT Mustangs with JBA long tube headers installed. The JBA shorty X pipe includes high-quality mounting hardware and installation instructions, no cutting or welding is required.

This product is a good fit uf you are wanting a 3in full exhaust

The product is good. I love that jba catted xpipe allowed me to add a full 3 in exhaust from long tube headers out the rear.

jba long tube headers and catted X pipe

Very good tone, a little raspy witch is to be expected with the X pipe versus H pipe.. sounds awesome. If that isn't loud enough just cut out the mid mufflers..

Will this X-pipe work with the Borla S-type Cat-back exhaust? I currently have the Borla S-Type 3" Cat-back exhaust with the X-pipe. I just purchased the Kooks 1 3/4 Long Tube headers and need to connect those up to my 3" Borla pipes. I know that I will have to get rid of the Borla X-pipe in this process, but need to find something that can take its place and fit properly. Unfortunately, the X or H pipe that Kooks has goes from 3" on the header side to 2.75" on the exit (to fit to the factory pipes). I want to keep it 3" all the way and am having trouble finding what I need.

  • These should work just fine. You already have long tubes and 3" catback. This x-pipe is 3" to 3" so it will match up. You may want to retain your clamps just in case but I'm sure this mid pipe comes with necessary hardware. Hope I was of any help, good luck bud.

CEL? Will these cats keep the check engine light off

drew302

  • Yes, you should only get a CEL if you install a cat-less setup and do not get a tune.

    Great, But Not For Everyone

Looking to finish off my build on my naturally aspirated 2011 5.0 manual GT, I opted for JBA longtubes and catted x-pipe after a few conversations with fellow Stangers. My GT has a BOSS 302 intake with Steeda cold air, BBK throttle body, tune, and of course the JBA long tubers with the catted x-pipe. At the cost of a few horsepower, I stuck with the stock 2.75 in exhaust from the x-pipe to the axlebacks. The stock mufflers were replaced with Roush axlebacks. A few things to note: the build quality and appearance are fantastic. If you want to keep the stock exhaust from the midpipe to the axlebacks, you will need reducers welded in. It took a muffler shop only 30 minutes to weld mine up and cost me $65. They also noted that as shipped, the x-pipe hung pretty low so with my permission they heated it up and gently bent it upwards some, greatly improving clearance. I advise you have this done also, as a speed bump would have done bad things to the x-pipe as shipped. The most important note, and one I cannot stress enough, is this: if you love the way your exhaust sounded with the stock h-pipe, do not, I repeat, DO NOT, install this x-pipe. Go with one of the high-flow catted h-pipes instead. This x-pipe changed my car's tone from deep and rumble-y to raspy and rappy. It moves the basic tone several octaves higher. That being said, I'm IN LOVE with this setup. The longtube/catted x-pipe/Roush axleback combo is loud as HECK on a cold start, but quiets to stock levels once it warms up. Taking it easy around town results in minimal noise, and there is no highway drone. In fact, in 6th gear at 75 mph the exhaust is as quiet as stock. However, stomp the accelerator and be prepared for an angry, ripping beast of sound to be unleashed. We're talking 12" glasspacks on an old farm truck levels of sound and rap. It's an uncorked, small displacement racecar sound and I love it. It's not for everyone, but I guarantee there won't be many other Mustangs in your area that sound the same. You will also cause some jaws to drop when some fool decides to mess with your quietly cruising Stang and you slap it down a few gears and unleash the beast.
