Quality Construction. These Mustang JBA Shorty headers are made to last using 3/8" thick laser-cut flanges, free flowing mandrel-bent 1-1/2" stainless steel tubing, and JBA's Sealing DomeĀ® collectors.

Natural Finish. These JBA Headers feature a natural stainless steel finish, which provides an aggressive appearance to your engine bay. This is not a heat-resistant coating, AmericanMuscle recommends the use of Exhaust Heat Wrap for high performance applications.

JBA are 1 1/2 primaries, everyone else seems to be at 1 5/8. Any advantage or disadvantage either way? Anything I should be concered with? Thanks.

Binger

  • The JBA Cat4ward Shorty Headers (05-10 V6) are great for a naturally aspirated application. Getting the larger primaries (i.e. the 1 5/8) would be preferred for a boosted application to help open up that airflow, however getting that with a naturally aspirated application can be overkill and you can actually lose out on horsepower.

Will these work with Pypes cut and clamp X pipe? I have a 2005 v6 and have these headers installed. I want to change my exhaust around and put in a Pypes Muffler Delete, and Cut and Clamp X- Pipe. Would the X pipe fit with these headers?

MMac

  • The JBA Cat4ward Shorty Headers (05-10 V6) will not affect the fitment on the cut and clamp X-pipe. They mount to your motor and there is manifold piping that will down from the headers to the X-pipe.

Question Resolved

Will these work with the X pipe on the Ford Racing Dual Exhaust?

WashCaps19

  • Yes these should hook up fine. They are meant to replace the factory manifolds and pick up in the same place.

Do these come with new header bolts or are you supposed to use the OEM studs holding the manifold?

Armymp77

  • Do not reuse your old bolts. Probably not. Ask the vender you are purchasing. But I would recommend you purchase a nice stainless steel set of bolts

    JBA Shorty Headers (V6)

Sound, with Dual Magnaflow CatBack, was noticeable throatier (even got a second opinion on this). Vibrations at idle felt smoother, and throttle response felt quicker. Installation was easy, and took about a weekend due to cold weather slowing down the process (more slowed down the installer). Several notes though!! 1.) Reinstallation of the EGR was rather difficult, so use anti-seize, makes a the job much easier. Also 1 1/16 crowfoot wrench is the only way to access the EGR by the exhaust manifold. 2.) The 15mm bolt on the Pax side required an overnight soak in WD40 to be removed. 3.) Pax side removal of the catalytic converter from the exhaust manifold requires a rather lengthy set up on running extenders over the catalytic converter to remove the upper bolt. Recommend when installing new headers to install the supplied bolt and nut so that it can be tighten from above, instead of below. 4.) When re-installing the oil dipstick, the original bolt is too short when installed with new headers. The hardware kit comes with a bolt that works as a replacement, but its original for the PAX side of the headers. Basically you have two holes which require two of the same bolts, but only one is included. Good news is that this bolt can be obtained easily at a local hardware store. Installation Instructions that are provided are well written and easy to follow. Note: Remember to clean, wash out, and dry the new headers as metal shavings are still present inside of them.

    Amazing Headers

I bought my boyfriend the headers as a gift. During the install he had a huge smile on his face because he was excited to get them on. Once on, he was like a kid in a candy store, he has so much more fun with his mustang now. He is so happy with the headers and we definitely can't wait to install a set in my mustang.

    JBA Shorty Headers

Not a bad mod. The sound is nice and there is a moderate gain in performance. Considering I had no real experience with engine mods before this, it came out rather well. Just to note: Removing the battery and battery harness on the passenger side made the installation easier.

It open the car right up and is a worthy upgrade

The headers was one of the last mods I did to my Mustang. I shouldn't have waited as it should have now been one of the first. The performance gain was truly felt and noticed as much as the tune and CAI I got from Bama and AM. The quality build of these headers is nice and the finish stays intact and is very heat resistant and looks good under the hood. I am suprised the gain I got from having these headers installed and I would recommend anyone to do this as one of your first modifications to your car. The sound is not overbearing and is pleasant to the hear and gives the exhaust note a beautiful pur. And at WOT it makes your car sound like a deadly V8 coming at you. JBA is CARB certified and the shop that installed it said I would have no problem passing the CARB smog check which is important in CA. These are the only headers CARB certified for the 4.0 and fortunately they are top notch high quality and worth the higher price tag. Pay the extra money for this set as you do get what you pay for!

Great Product, really got the boost that was needed

The JBA shorties really gave my V6 some power. I have it matched up with a true duel exhaust. It sounds just like a V8, deep and throaty. I truly recommend this product to anyone looking to beef up their V6.

This is one of the best upgrade anyone can do to their V6 stangs! You definitely feel the increase in power, especially in the low-end torque. This is a great buy and a must!

    Pypes Headers

These headers Are amazing. Great sound. I mix it with the pypes axel back. Made my exuast sound more beefy less high pitch. Allot more torque in lower rpms. Can tell the diffrence in higher rpm. Great buy
