Very nice CAI

Gets the job done. Fits nice and a very easy installation. Don't expect much of a performance gain but sounds nice. Does improve mpg slightly. Worth the purchase.

how much horsepower and can i take it off after install im wondering how much horsepower i can actually expect out of this intake and also if i can remove it after i install it. i have the extended warranty on my car and i was wondering if i had to bring my car in for warranty work if i can take this intake off and put the stock one back on?

tburger

  • You can expect about 15 rear wheel HP with this JLT intake without a tune. With a tune, your CAI can realize its full potential and that number will increase. Also, you can certainly uninstall this again if you need to and replace it with the stock box. I'm sure each time, the install/uninstall will become easier and easier as well.

Airflow sensor Could this intake possibly break my mass airflow sensor or cause the check engine light to turn on?

tburger

  • The JLT will not break your mass air sensor or set a light. it can work well without a tune, but it will really please you with one.

would it fit with a poweraid TB spacer? i have a TB spacer and im looking for a CAI, would the JLT cold air intake fit my car with the TB spacer on?

lcl7000

  • I would think that it would still work with the spacer. You would just need to slide the filter up a little further on the intake tube to compensate for the thickness of the spacer.

What is the size of this. I am looking to get the Bbk tb 73mm but wondering if this cold air intake will fit on that tb?

Johnny

  • The JLT Performance Cold Air Intake will work just fine with the BBK 73mm throttle body. You will notice it will be lot tighter of a fit around the new throttle body. You will just have to stretch the coupler to fit over the new throttle body for a very tight secure fit.

it happens on Wide open throttle!

I like the whistle when you start on 1st to 3rd gear. you can hear it sucking air and all that, but the most that i was impressed was in wide open throttle! this is not a joke and even me felt really good when a did wot and on the stoplight this car's driver liked the sound of my v6 and he told me " that V8 sound tho!" inside me was like YES!!! anyway, super easy install, no issues at all!

    OUTSTANDING

Product took about 4 business days to arrive. I drove a little over 1000 miles with my 2012 Mustang V6 before I added this JLT intake, so I definitely remembered how my car performed and sounded during pre-installation. I am a novice under the hood so it took me just about an hour to install it; making sure I didn't make mistakes. I noticed it right from turning the key!! Throttle response is greatly improved and you hear that slight whistle sound....but when you step on it, you even hear the engine growl within the cabin. Gas milage improved instantly, throttle response, acceleration, low end torque, all amazngly improved compared to stock. I went with the JLT because it was one of the cheapest of them all but certainly does not behave "cheap". You can feel it freeup horsepower and the engine function much more smoothly. I definitely recommend this purchase for first time modifiers!!!

    Sweet Intake!!!

I installed this JLT CAI in like 30-40 mins. It sounds great when you accelerate and you can feel a power and torque increase. My street gas mileage also increased a couple, haven't tried it on the highway yet. It also looks much better under the hood with that black box out of there. Overall I definitely recommend this product!

    GREAT SOUND

This intake gives an amazing throaty sound at wide open throttle very similiar to a gt. The power gain is there as well and the mpg has definetly increased. i reset my computer before the magnaflow abs and had an average of 18.2. with the magnaflows the computer read 19.8. Now with my JLT cai it is reading 25.8! This isn't a lie and I don't know if its just the computer adjusting but take it as it is I guess. Overall very worth it.

    Perfect first mod.

This product was very easy to install and the difference between this CAI and the stock air box was noticeable immediately. The throttle response greatly improved, the torque improved some, but the best part about this CAI is the sound above 2500rpm. The low rumble coming from under the hood was the icing on the cake and makes the car a bit louder within the cabin (a plus in my opinion). When you get on the gas you can sometimes hear the "psssss" sound of the air being pulled into the CAI - I personally like the sound, but it does not sound like a turbo. I am sure this product will benefit other mods down the line so I'm glad I made it one of the first mods I installed on my mustang. AM had the product on my doorstep within 2 days after placing my order so I was extremely satisfied with the entire purchase!

    Good CAI for your Mustang

Installation was quick and wasy and the fit was just right on my 2012 V6 Stang. As soon as installation was complete I turned on my vehicle and you could hear this thing sucking in the air. Step on the gas and you get that nice whistle. I would definatley recommend this CAI in replacement of the stock.

    Watch my video!

Okay, so I got this cold air intake finally. This is the first performance part so far for my 13' V6, other than my straight pipe mufflers that I had a shop do. Watch my video on youtube of the whole thing. Here's the link! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKf-oGSSWE4 My only complaint is if you have a automatic you have to drill a hole for the 2nd hose fitting. They include the pieces and all it just requires a hole to be drilled and its a little sketchy. But its all good i'm still satisfied!

    Great first mod

Just installed the JLT CAI and first reaction was the great sound. Nice growl with a little whistle when you put your foot in it. Can feel the better throttle response and acceleration. About to join it with an SCT tune and really look forward to the pairing.

    Love it

I honestly love this intake, people may say that it doesn't make a difference but trust me it does. Don't get me wrong if you didn't drive the car before the intake, you probably won't feel the difference it made. I would totally recommend it for anyone looking for an intake.

The JLT 3.7 CAI is a great bang for your buck !!!

Pro's: Price, easy install, no tune required (but recommended), big quality SandB filter (IMHO the best in the business) , great sound during normal driving (growl) and spirited driving (howl), great looks, direct straight path for air flow (no curves), JLT documented HP gains of 10-15 HP (even without a tune), decent instructions, quality packaging, 50 State Legal (includes CARB# sticker), durable quality intake tube and heat shield material, includes large area heat shield that allows fresh air from factory cold air scoop. Con's: I had a little trouble with threading one of the MAF sensor screws due to excess plastic covering the mounting location. No biggie, just used a small screw driver to scrape the plastic out of the way. I also had difficulty properly mounting the included weather stripping around the hole in heat shield. I just kept it off like most people that have installed this kit. Make sure you properly center the intake tube in the heat shield hole or the tube will "rap" against the shield during full throttle. Having the weather stripping in place would probably solve this problem by "cushioning" the tube from contact. Maybe a different type of weather stripping could be used? Lastly, some may not like the drilling required for the "automatic equipped" install. However, the included instructions are "spot on" and not complicated. As long as you follow the directions and take your time, drilling a 1/2 inch hole is really simple in the grand scheme of things. Just make sure you clean out all the plastic shavings before buttoning up the install. Overall this is a great mod for the price. Sure there are better quality (and more expensive) intakes out there but JLT has made a great intake for a great price. Personally, I'm glad I didn't go the expensive route. 10-15 HP without a tune is nothing to sneeze at. I highly recommend this product.

The product is great .took me a little longer to put on because I had to put a secondary hole in the tube. But once I had it on my 3.7 she woke up, well worth the money, you can here the tone difference coming out of the exhaust during moving threw the gears, loving it, next is a runner SCT

    10 Stars All Around!!

Don't pass on this one I contemplated on intakes I spent hours and hours researching pro's and con's of all brands, I am glad I went with the jlt don't be scared of drilling the hole if you have an automatic like I do be patient measure twice mark it with a sharpie and then drill your hole into the intake!. You can hear it sucking in air even with the windows up with every hard push of the throttle in any gear you can hear it working! I drove my car for almost 2,000 miles before I added the intake. There is defniitely a difference in the throttle response, the sound of my exhaust and the sound of my engine and none of it is in my head or a placebo. Get this intake you wont be dissapointed!

    JLT is a must buy

Pretty easy to install, only took about 45 mins. Only thing is that for Automatic transmissions, you need to drill an extra hole in the intake tube. The directions specify a 1/2 inch drill bit, however the actual size needed was 3/4 inch. Not a big deal, just had to drill a slightly larger hole. Now for the best part, the performance gains!! Definitely notice a increase in throttle response, and when you step on it, you can hear the whistle. Overall, this is a great product and a great first mod to buy if you're looking to increase performance. Would definitely recommend this product!!
