Improve Horsepower And Torque. The Kooks Long Tube Header and Catted Shorty X-pipe combo kit for the manual 2005 to 2010 GT Mustangs will balance out the exhaust pressure to increase flow over the restrictive factory exhaust system resulting in more horsepower, torque, and better throttle response.

Quality Construction. Manufactured from 1-5/8" mandrel bent 304 stainless steel tubing Kooks Long Tube Headers are TIG welded for strength, and feature a leak-free ball flange design to fit perfectly into the included 2.5" diameter 304 stainless steel Shorty X-pipe for excellent exhaust flow and performance.

Recommended Upgrade. To realize the full power potential that this Header and X-pipe combo kit has to offer, AmericanMuscle recommends a custom tune with a Mustang Handheld Tuner to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) for proper operation.

Application. This Kooks Header and matching catted X-pipe combo kit is designed specifically for the 2005 to 2010 4.6L GT and Bullitt Mustangs equipped with a manual transmission. Includes gaskets and 02 extensions.

ehaust will the kooks header and catted x-pipe combo manual set up hook to my flowmaster ehaust. Also do i have to use that serten type of tunner or can i use any tunner.


  • Yes this exhaust will hook up with your existing mufflers, stock or otherwise. Any tuner will work.

Will this combo kit make use of all 4 O2 sensors? Up and downstream?


  • Hello! Yes, the Kooks Header and Catted X-pipe Combo has 2 O2 sensor bungs in the header collectors; and 2 in the Catalytic Converters.

Hello. Do these hang any lower than the factory headers and mid pipe? I have my car lowered 1.5 and don't want to worry about bottoming out.


Will this combo fit with my flow master outlaw axle back exhaust? Is there anything extra I will need?


  • The Kooks Header and Catted X-pipe Combo can be used with any axleback with no issue. There are no additional components required, however a tune is highly recommended.

I know you guys said no retune is required but still is recommended. So will the check engine light turn on because of this or will it just not run up to its max potential?


  • I would highly recommend re-tuning your vehicle when you install this exhaust combo. Reason being that your car is not automatically set up for long tube headers and you will have the check engine light come on in your vehicle. You also will not see many gains unless the car has a new tune to it.

Will the mid pipe bolt up to a 3 inch magnaflow catback with no issues?


  • You will most likely need a mild modification to make it work as the x-pipe is 2.5 inches in diameter.

    Amazing Quality

    I like many others have done hours upon hours of research for the best headers for my pony. Everyone is gonna have their own opinion and mine now more than ever is Kooks. The quality of the welds and stainless steel tubing are superior to some other brands that I have seen. The moment I started my pony up you could just hear her singing with joy. The x-pipes have a bit of raspy tone to it and the overall noise isn't too loud making it just enough to wake your neighbors at 5am but not enough to put you on any police radars. These are a little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.

    05 Saleen NOVI 2200

    This header kit is absolutely the best item I have installed yet on my 2007 Shelby GT to date. The install took me a weekend to complete, but only because I don't have a lift. I bought the Flowmaster Outlaw mufflers a couple years and that sounded great without the headers. Now that I have installed the Kooks headers with X-Pipe kit, and combined with the Flowmaster Outlaw Mufflers the sound is OMG out of this world. Anyone looking to put a set of on their Mustang, I strongly suggest the Kooks header with X-Pipe kit. The sound that is put out, seems nothing short of a straight pipe exhaust system. This item gets a 10+ from me. Thanks American Muscle.

    The quality of the kooks headers are awesome!

    Yes, the Kooks headers are a bit 'pricey' but you can't beat the quality. Expect to take your time and have patience during the install.

    Passenger side header hits frame.

    Passenger side header tube hits the frame rail when you make hard left hand turns.

    Great product

    Kooks Headers

    If your looking for long tube headers this is the way to go. They sound amazing the power gains in the mid to high rpm are amazing. I have this with the fr500 muffler and I love the mix of the too. In my opinion these are a must have if you want a awesome sounding exhaust.

    Awesome Power / Great Sound

    I love this package. I replaced my shorties with these Kook LTs and I couldnt be happier. Not only is the exhaust note very powerful but the power increase when combined with my CAI, FR TB, FR Intake Manifold, and Bama Tune put me at a dyno-ed 330 HP to the wheels. Good job Kooks.

    Great Buy!

    These headers are top notch in fit and finish! Took the shop a full day to install and tune the car. It was well worth the wait! The exhaust note coming from the magnaflows deserves to be on a ring tone! Noticeable power gains throughout RPM's. Had the car dynoed after and with some bolt ons and ford racing throttle body I put down 320 RWHP and 330 RWTQ in my 2010 stang! Forced my buddy with a Camaro to go out and put cams and headers on his so he wouldn't get outran! Lol! As usual fast shipping and great customer service from A.M! !! Don't hesitate on buying these because you won't be disappointed!!

    More power, great fit, great sound

    I bought this after intake, cam, gears (and other stuff). Fit is great, power increase is wonderful, and the sound is fantastic. Without changing the exhaust your power isn't maximized.

    Worth the Money and Time

    Install: The installation was tough on jack stands, but having never touched an exhaust system before, it was pretty straight forward. It might seem intimidating, but it's just time consuming. The only complaint I have about fitment is that it seemed impossible to get a torque wrench on every header bolt. However, I haven't had a problem with leaking and I've had them on for almost a year now. Just make sure you get them tight, and turn them again after the first drive while they're still warm. Sound: I initially had flowmaster mufflers with these (not sure what model, they were put on by the previous owner). I lived in an apartment complex, and even with Hot Rod cams, the flowmasters kept it quiet. I have since switched to the FR500s axle back and it is much louder, pops on deceleration, and pretty much sounds like an animal. If you are worried about volume, don't be. Even with the FR500s, I can still creep around under 2000 rpm and keep her quiet in the neighborhood. It's the cold starts that really make noise :D Performance: With this exhaust system, the Airaid Race intake and a Bama tune (no Hot Rod cams), I shaved off .95 seconds on my best stock ET with back to back trips to the track. Enough said.

    fits perfect, but need some little 4- 5 final ajustement. sound was really perfect with my bullitt stock muffler.

    Great product

    After many hours of research on multiple headers and mid-pipes, I finally decided to go with Kooks. I was a little weary of buying the Kooks as they are the most expensive out of any others, however, the quality of the material, as well as the quality of the sound, simply cannot be beaten. Getting these headers to fit onto the engine was a bit of a pain. The lower header bolts become very hard to get to when the new headers are put on. If you find yourself purchasing this great product, I would HIGHLY recommend removing the K-member as it will allow you to get your hands directly underneath the headers instead of having to go from the side like I did. It took my father and I around 9 hours from start to finish while using a lift. Nontheless, these headers are amazing and give you an amazing sound that is sure to turn heads going down the road.

    Can't go wrong with kooks

    Purchased these for my 08 GT and the sound is phenomenal. Such a night and day difference between stock manifold. My mechanic said they were the best fitment and quality headers he has installed ever. The x-pipe does give a very raspy tone so if you don't like that type of tone I would say get the headers and go for the kooks h-pipe instead. Overall great product and I am very satisfied.
