perfect stock ride quality

Great if you want a stock ride. If your looking for a more aggressive ride, these are not for you.

SOMEONE HELP!! First thing first my car: 2005 Mustang V6 79,495 Miles Second what I'm looking for: A nice smooth ride so I can enjoy driving my car again! Im mainly on freeways (some city streets) and sometimes on curvy side roads so I would really like a better feel Ok so im on a budget and I need to replace my shocks and struts I'm thinking of these or the Tokiko HP Shocks and Struts. I mainly use my car to get to school (which is 20 miles away) and just to travel around town, and I absolutely HATE my ride performance. Every time I go over bumps I hear the annoying clunking bottom out noise so I know I need to replace them. I am wondering what the difference is between these and the Tokiko ones and if I will notice it! So please someone truthfully answer this for me and not try and sell me the most expensive ones. Thanks (Just a side question, Does anybody know how much shops charge to install these? And will this reduce road noise? (bumps, holes, ect..)

  • I bought the KYB's for my 2005 GT and I like them for the daily driving that I do. I don't know much about the Tokiko's, but my main concerns were price and is it better than stock, since I'm not rally racing (all the time, eh). I did notice a nice improvement over my stock worn out struts, plus I have used KYB shocks in the past on my 1968 Mustang, and liked the experience. The shop I used charged about $60 per strut to replace, plus you will need (eventually) to get the front end realigned, about $120 more.

Another Question!! I just asked some questions about this product and I forgot this last one. Do you need to buy ANY other parts with these shocks and struts in order for them to work properly? Or can you just place these onto a car that has everything stock on it. My mustang has 80,000 miles on it and I'm on a budget. My shocks and struts are bottoming out and I need to replace them since I really miss having a smooth ride. I just want to know if this is all i need to replace. Thanks

    Happy with KYB

I'm a daily driver who was looking for front struts that were better than an OEM replacement with a budget in mind. I believe the KYB's did the job, and I do feel an improvement in handling and ride comfort. I am aware of the other shock strut brands American Muscle offers, but I do not plan on lowering my car and cost was a primary consideration for me.

    OEM fitment. Great product.

I was very pleased with these struts.. They were a direct fitment and not hard to install. The hardest part was obviously compressing the springs and decompressing them.. As far as the actual struts are concerned, they handle great and they are a great OEM replacement that give you that original suspension feeling when you first bought the car.

    great replacement over stock

Got the kyb shocks n struts to replace the stock ones. Stiffer ride quality and revamps the stangs damper. I live in the city so you feel the road a lot more but you can tell it handles a lot stronger than stock.

Well worth the price for nice stiff ride quality.

06 GT 5spd. 53k My front right strut had gone started giving me problems a few months ago so it was time to refresh the front end up a bit. In fact the struts and ball joints were so worn out that they were eating up wheel hub assemblies (replaced 10k ago). I purchased these struts along with a pair of Ford Racing lower control arms and a Timken hub. After installing and road testing I must say that these struts really compliment the new front end. The handling is much stiffer now and the clunking over bumps and potholes is non-existent. Nice improvement over stock. Installation was a breeze with simple tools but it helped that my buddy has a lift in his garage. Would recommend!!.

    nice upgrade

Ride is better than stock for a reasonable price . My only complaint is they didnt come with new dust boots . It would have been worth a few extra bucks to have new boots with the struts . you either have to reuse your old boots or get an auto parts store to match some up for you if you want to do the struts , springs and mounts as a set and replace as a unit .
