Description
More Horsepower And Torque. Replace those restrictive stock factory manifolds with a set of MAC Long Tube Ceramic Headers to improve exhaust flow and increase your Mustang's horsepower and torque. Increases of up to 18 RWHP have been seen when installed with a matching MAC shorty mid-pipe (see drop down option above).

Ceramic Coating. These Long Tube Headers are completed in MAC's Polished Ceramic Coating that not only looks great, but reduce under hood temperatures to help increase horsepower and extend the life of the headers. Ceramic Coated headers will long out last both chrome plated and polished headers.

High Quality Construction. Constructed from 1-5/8" mandrel bent 16 Gauge Steel tubing so there are no kinks to rob you of power, these MAC Performance Long Tube Headers feature 2-1/2" True Fit Collectors that eliminate the need for gaskets which are prone to leak and blow out. These headers are then completed in a ceramic coated finish for good looks and a durable long life.

Recommended Upgrade. To realize the full power potential that these Long Tube Headers have to offer, AmericanMuscle recommends a Bama custom tune with a Mustang Handheld Tuner to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) for proper operation.

Application. These Mac long tube headers are designed to fit the 1999-2004 SVT Cobra and 2003-2004 Mach 1 Mustangs with either a manual or automatic transmission. MAC Performance recommends using a MAC shorty mid-pipe for the best performance gains.

Technical Note. This MAC Performance product is not legal for use in emission restrictive states.

Will this work with the MACH 1? And the SLP Mid X pipe? SLP does not make a set of longtubes for the MACH 1 :-( so i turned to the next best thing i just want to make sure this will fit the SLP (sectional) MID X PIPE that you can remove parts for fitment i.e. remove the down pipes to install the long tubes or just take the cats out for a swap .... just wanna make sure that i wont have like a HUGE gap or overlap .... any ideas or suggestions?

Will these fit a Mach 1? I've seen these on multiple websites that say these will fit on Cobras and Mach 1's along with reviews stating the same. My question is if these are different.

  • They should bolt right up. You could double check with the manufacturer to be certain. The only difference I know of in the exhaust system of the two cars is behind the mid pipe.

Would cats have to be removed? Would my cats need to be removed when installing Longtubes or can you still keep your cats?

  • Yes, you will have to get a matching mid pipe. They may however offer one with cats. But the stock ones will have to go

The fit and finish on the MAC LTs are second to none. For the price and quality, you cannot beat them. MAC seems to be the only LT on the market that I could not find anyone who had install issues with. The power increase should be there too. I am doing a 4V Vortech swap in my GT. a friend saws 60hp increase on his Kenne Bell Cobra over stock manifolds and an O/R H Pipe.
