Hi I would like to know, if these headers will fits to my 2015 mustang v6

  • The MAC Ceramic Shorty Headers (11-14 V6) will not fit on S550 Mustangs. This is because the design of these headers will not match up to the downpipe or the heads.

will these fit 2016 v6 n mustang ????

  • Hi, At this time MAC has not verified fitment for these MAC Ceramic Shorty Headers on the 15+ V6s we do offer other choices for the 15+ v6. BBK Ceramic Tuned Length Shorty Headers Item #56235 and BBK Chrome Tuned Length Shorty Headers Item #56234.

I just installed a K N intake with a 73mm throttle body and a spacer on my 2014 V6 convertible. Runs great. It is my everyday driver and I drive about 25,000. I love great performance and want the added power and could use some additional sound. I like the headers for the power and look. Since I don't want a lot of extra sound (Nothing LOUD or RASPY.) would it be ok to hook them up to my stock exhaust? Would I get some sound and better performance or should I add additional exhaust components?

  • The MAC Ceramic Shorty Headers (11-14 V6) will hook up to your stock exhaust. You will see a bit more horse power and more tone from doing shorty headers. If you are looking for performance I would recommend looking into long tube headers and a shorty mid-pipe. This will be the best gain of horse power.

I just bought my 14' v6 last month and am making a wish list... I wanted to know are these a direct fit with the catalytic converters and O2 system?

  • Yes. They are a direct bolt on replacement. Think about buying a tuner if you want to maximize performance and gas mileage. You can't beat free tunes for life!

how much hp & torque do you get from this mod alone? Would you say this is better than the ceramic bbk Shorty headers? Trying to decide which one I should get and gains and sound.

  • They may be rated for +10HP but the biggest change/gain you will notice is in the sound. It will really open up your exhaust and let it breath. You will love the sound !!

First of all - when you're done with the installation and will first start up your car you won't believe your ride is still a V6. Almost like stock in idle - but as soon as you hit the pedal you unleash the beast! The sound is amazing! These little monsters are loud ;-) Installation took me a day - but there is an installation guide for them on the AM webpage - with that it should not take you that long for the installation. Alignment is good - follow the instructions - and the quality does look really good. All the weldings look like long-lasting. In my opinion the best item you're able to buy! If you wanna do a real pro-installation make sure you order an additional set of header gaskets with them and discard the old ones. Everything else you'll need for the installation comes with it! GET IT - before someone else does! ;)

Decided to be the Guinea Pig on these

I bought these without any prior reviews because of an overwhelming forum response that MAC was the better company over BBK. Also because I thought the radical tubing design would look cooler under the hood. So far, I'm very happy with them. The welds are fantastic and the product is made very well. Fitment is perfect. I was a little upset to see they didn't come with gaskets, but reusing the stock ones proved to work just fine. I can't comment on the sound or the installation time as I installed these at the same time as my Lethal Performance H-Pipe and welded on glasspacks almost immediately, but the combination of the 3 with my Pype Bombs sounds FANTASTIC. If I had to do it again, I'd still take these over the BBK. And a word of advice: Because of the tubing, you will need a combo wrench for most of the bolts. A gearwrench will save you a ton of frustration. The stock manifolds are 13mm, the bolts that come with these are 12mm. Here's a video:

    well built headers

These headers look great and are well built. I choose them due to the good service that I've had from mac products in the past. I also like the fact that they are an equal lenght header. The coating is complete and the welds are nice and clean.

    Awesome Mac headers

Smooth sound and acceleration with these new headers. The motor runs so much more free. I have a V6 Roush with Cat back exhaust. Improved the sound greatly with no back fire sound. Use a couple factor studs to align the headers during install. Then replace with bolts one at a time. So much easier. Really like the look as well. Glad I bought and wish I bought sooner.

These headers are all you can ask for. They deepened the exhaust note slightly and paired with ROUSH axlebacks they sound amazing. There seems to be a more free flowing sound to the exhaust. Not as many pops and gargles that come when you let off the gas with the axlebacks. There is a noticeable gain of torque and response throughout the whole range, mostly noticed in second and third. My only regret is not getting them sooner! Thanks AM staff for wicked fast shipping and exceptional support! Get the headers if your on the fence, you wont be disappointed! Oh, And I am loving the fresh new look of the ceramic coating each time I open the hood! Worth the extra bucks if you are planning on keeping the car for a long time, and even if your not, youd be doing someone else a favor!

    Awesome set!

Okay few things to answer possible questions. -get the stock headers off was no problem just spray with Gibbs -the shop was only needed because I have lethal performance h pipe and the flange was different not a big deal and not AM's fault at all! -I kept the stock gaskets (even though Mac uses true connectors I just like a piece of mind) plus the gaskets were perfectly fine even after 50k miles. -one downside but easily fixed was the driver side manifold flange rubs the steering column so just zip a bit of it off with a sawzall and you'll be right as rain! On the review itself I believe these a very good part because of the equal length pipes! Very good sound deep and rumbly as a v6 can be haha! Definitely feel the power added and pulls a lot harder.

Took a while to get, but the headers did arrive in good condition. When doing this, remember to get a new exhaust gasket. The work took me about a day. Removal of the old manifold was quick and easy. Having the right tools helped. Installed the drivers side 1st, pretty straight forward. However on the passenger side I did have a fitment issue. The bolt holes on the collector did not line up. It took a couple hours of work to get that side mated and sealed. I have been driving it for a couple months now. Sounds good, a little deeper rumble. I've noticed modest performance gains with low end torque and throttle response. Also added a throttle body. Need to do a tune to really get the most out of it.

    Noticeable power difference.

Well I had procrastinating for awhile on these headers. Once I received them I noticed how well constructed they had been made. I cannot emphasize more on how much more fun it is after getting these installed. The oem headers btw are so much smaller and you realize how much restriction they had on the performance. Awesome gain through the entire power band. Highly recommended these for the other fellow PONY owners out there.

Not bad for an afternoon install

Installation was pretty straight forward. I took the battery box and battery out for the right side install, which made things so much easier. Overall about a three hour project. Really like the sound, I already have Borla axle backs on the car. Don't have any documented performance data but my seat of the pants impression is this mod increased my low end power considerably.

Amazing increase in power and torque.

I bought the MAC shorty headers for my 2013 V6 convertible several months ago and waited until I could afford to have them installed by the Ford dealer last week. It took the Ford tech about 4 hours to install. The change in performance is hard to describe without superlatives. The power used to come in around 4000 RPM. Now it starts around 2000 RPM. Where the car used to just chirp when I shifted into second, now with these MAC headers it starts to fishtail like a 5.0": I was not expecting that kind of improvement. Had I known how much more power this made I would have done it as soon as I took delivery of the car. The car does have a BAMA 91 octane tune, a 73mm BBK Throttle Body, a K&N drop-in air filter, a Steeda shifter bushing, and a "Driveshaft Shop" carbon fiber driveshaft. I am guessing that the V6 may now be pushing 350hp and getting close to 300 ft/lbs of torque (at the rear wheels), but I have not had it dyno'd yet. Just get these headers ...and btw the AM techs told me it does not need a tune for these shorty headers. What is not to like?

    Good sound and flow

Noticable difference in sound and air flow. Had fitment issues on one side. Had to take it to a shop to get adjusted to fit.

    Great if they fit!

Alright, so I bought these headers as I finally bit the bullet. I was excited, and went with the ceramics so they wouldn't rust. Day one: got them installed in about 4 hrs. Huge exhaust leak on start up with stock gaskets. After about a week, I received my new gaskets in the mail and ripped everything off, did them again about 30 minutes faster. Then, on start up, the same exact leak was back again. Ended up costing me $75 to get the leak fixed. Shop owner said, the headers were tweaked from factory and came up with some custom fabrication. I've had these headers for more than 6 months now, they looked better when I first had them because they do infact slightly rust. Though, after everything, they do look good, and sound awesome. Would I do it again, no, but glad I have them.

    It doesn't fit the angle.

The one on the right doesn't fit the angle perfectly, which makes the sound horrible. I have to spend a lot more to fix the problem.
