Hi my axel back exhaust has a 2.75 in diameter will this still fit

  • Yes, this mid pipe will fit with your axle-back.

Hi would this go good with a borla axel-back exhaust

  • As long as your Borla axle-back exhaust has a piping size of 2.5" in diameter, this will work well with the exhaust to give you the muscle car sound that the H-pipes have.

Will the check engine light come on after installing this mid-pipe or no?

  • The MAC Off-road Pro Chamber Mid Pipe does not have catalytic converters, so it will produce a check engine light for catalyst below efficiency. A tuner with custom tunes capability can remove the check engine light, with the proper tune.

O2 Sensors When putting on these off road pipes will the O2 sensors throw a code due to the fact that there are no more CATs?

  • When the MAC Off-road Pro Chamber Mid Pipe (05-09 GT) is installed you will throw a check engine light due to the cats being off. The way to fix this would be getting a custom hand held tuner. I will attach a link below.

if i decide to get mac long tubes, will i have to buy a new h pipe or can i just cut it into a shorty pipe so it will fit the longtubes

  • If you swap to long tube headers, you will need to swap this mid-pipe out as well for a Mac Shorty mid-pipe for proper fitment. This mid-pipe is meant for use with the Mac Shorty headers or stock manifolds only.

  • Nope, it will bolt right into your exhaust system.

Nothing seemed to fit. I bought this prochamber for my shorty headers and the o2 downpipes would not slide into the chamber! Eventually, with two pipe expanders and a few days later I made them fit better, but it's still not a great fit. On the plus side, it is a nice sounding exhaust, and I notice a dramatic change in performance. Save yourself a headache, get a brand you've heard good about.

The fit and finish of this piece is far superior to the Magnaflow catted X-pipe I've had on my car before. With my Corsa mufflers it gives it a unique clean sound, unlike every other Mustang out there with Flowmasters. I would definitely recommened this to anyone looking to be different and get a well made mid-pipe.

    Loud Note Indeed!

This is a solid product that was installed in tandem with the Roush Extreme Performance Catback. This thing roars INCREDIBLY LOUD! I wanted to go pro chamber because I was told this rumbles even lower than an h-pipe soundwise, and I wanted that stereotypical muscle car sound. In actuality, it's not as low as I had thought it would be...perhaps it's because this is an off-road pipe. However, that's not to say I don't approve of the volume and overall sound. With the new exhaust, this mid-pipe produces no drone and no other major issues. Just be ready for overall fatigue from the volume if taking looooong trips. This pipe definitely turns heads and I'm very happy not only with the purchase, but the help I received from Tina at AM, who talked me through the pros and cons of the mid-pipes

I got this mid pipe in last night. When I opened it the mid pipe was just laying loose in the box no bubble wrap nothing. It was free too just be clanging around getting dented scratched or smashed. I know this is stainless steel and would be hard to bend but I used to work for ups and I know how they handle there stuff. So this morning I went to install the exhaust factory exhaust came off easy. I took the 2 02 sensors off the right side and one off the other as I put the sensors on the new mid pipe the first went on fine but the 2nd one went in about 3/4 of the way and stopped ( I did not cross thread there was no tension when screwing them in the 1st 3/4 of the way). So I tried backing it out it wouldn't budge! Finally after some good torque it broke free and slowing unscrewed when I got it out the people that had wielding in everything left a bead in the threads which completely trashing the threads on my o2 sensor. I had to buy a new o2 sensor (50$) also had to buy a tool to re thread the o2 hole (7$). Very very frustrating! Also the bends in the piping were not real smooth you could tell we're they had to get a couple bites. I had heard great things on this mid pipe but was kind of dissapointed. On a good note it does sound great with my flow master 40 series axle backs. I could be a rare case but just a fore warning make sure you check the o2 threads before putting your sensor on. Besides the product I have had a few prior questions and AM has had great customer service and the package came on time ( although the bad packaging)

    great choice over headers.

I decided on this over headers, and I'm glad I did. The sound is amazing. If you want a smooth growl, just feather the pedal, if you want loud, hit it. It feels like you can determine how loud you want it by the way you drive. Cruising around 65-70mph, it's awesome. FYI, 1999-2004 mil eliminators DO fit.

I've had a pro chamber before on my old mustang and it was a perfect fit and had zero problems. However whoever made this one must have been having a very off day. The passenger side o2 sensor was welded in the wrong place putting it directly in front of the stud. Both pipes were very crooked and had to be heated and bent to get it to fit. And the hangers are about 1.5 inches too far apart, all this making it much more difficult to install than it ever should be. I've been working on cars 12+ years and have never had such difficulty just swapping an exhaust pipe, after all the trouble I got it to work though and it does sound great but I hope no one else has this problem.

    Great Muscle car sound!

Great Mid pipe, has a nice old school muscle car sound. Hardest part of the install is taking the factory H and cats off. Off Road is the way to go, not too loud at idle or cruising but when you give it some gas it sounds MEAN!!!

    Excellent Mid Pipe

Very pleased with the sound of the O/R Prochamber... Not overwhelming but very nice indeed! Drone between 50 - 70 mph is not overwhelming either... But it's actually nice to be able to make a little bit of noise ONLY if you want to by pushing the "pedal to the metal!". I have the Prochamber paired up with Bassani Axleback mufflers and so far my friends who also own Mustangs love the sound. Again, I am very pleased with the Prochamber/Bassani setup but I have no doubts that this mid pipe will sound great with most other cat back or axleback systems. This pipe is worth it. BUY IT!!!

The Mac Pro-Chamber is a an awesome mid pipe. The sound is just what I was looking for, deeper, more aggressive, but not to loud. It sounds like an old school muscle car, even with the stock mufflers. The quality of the pipe is as good if not better than expected. As for installation, good tools and a little experience are a must. A lift is nice and makes the job a whole lot easier. The check engine light did come on after driving for a while. I understand that a tuner will solve this problem. I can't wait to get my tuner / rear end gear combo along with a CAI to finish off my project. P.S. I placed my order after 5pm on a Thursday and received my pipe on Saturday. Great job American Muscle

    mean sound

I installed this offroad h pipe on my 06 saleen supercharged to give my car a meaner sound. And it worked. Sounds great. Install was pretty easy, except for hard to get at o2 sensor. Otherwise it was a piece of cake. When I give her some gas it sounds pretty darn mean. Using it with saleen exhaust (has magnaflow mufflers). Now they can hear me coming.

MAC Off-road Pro Chamber Mid Pipe

This is very well designed. However let me review..., the fit required some hand tools to get the down pipes to fit the mid-pipe. Channel locks, angle grinder, and a good bit of hits with a mallet...hmmm ok, 2 stars, but overall it is a great upgrade once in place. The Mustang sounds great, and I get complements all the time now. The added low end torque is a plus for street driving. Hard to tell how much it added overall, because they will hear me coming now. It's not too loud outside but louder in the cab for sure. Takes some getting used to, but I've knew what to expect. Definitely a positive improvement though. About 2 hours on jack stands with air tools. I love the sound, 5 stars. You can definitely hear the chamber but it doesn't sound hollow like fox's with Flowmasters. That tone is great, but it gets old if you drive the car everyday. This tone is low and smooth. No pop when throttle released. Nothing but smooth low rumble at idle but hit the gas and it roars. The engine sounds bigger and healthier. AmericanMuscle, thanks, but this sound is American muscle!!! Thanks!!!

Off-Road Mac Prochamber, Flowmaster American Thunder Classic 40 Series Axle-Back. This is the best mid pipe EVER!!! I finally found the perfect sound, after trying o/r x pipe, o/r h pipe, resonators, nothing worked and it sounded horrible! So much rasp and nasty sound! The Mac Prochamber saved me, I'm in love with the sound, there's no rasp at 3k rpm when cruising like metal rocks jumping around in my mufflers. Just an even aggressive deep tone all the way through. I'M IN LOVE! MAC PROCHAMBER IS THE BEST THING THAT'S EVER HAPPENED TO ME AND I'M IN LOVE WITH THE SOUND. I've spend thousands of dollar switching exhausts, SLP loudmouths, Borla ATAK, Magnapacks, Flowmaster, they all sound great with Mac Prochamber, because the problem was always the o/r X pipe or o/r H pipe, and I thought it was the mufflers. As far as installation, the down pipes and the clamps were trash. They didn't fit so shop had to cut and weld a new piece on the driver side down pipe where it curves and the clamps were so small that the exhaust was leaking. $180 later I just had everything welded so I never have to worry about it. IF YOU BUY THIS MAKE SURE YOU TAKE IT TO A MUFFLER SHOP AND EXPECT SOME CUTTING AND WELDING, BUT NOTHING MAJOR. ALSO MUST GET IT WITHOUT CATALYTIC CONVERTERS BECAUSE IT'S VERY QUIET WITH CATS, BUT WITHOUT THEM IT'S THE BEST SOUND IN THE WORLD JUST LOUD ENOUGH DEEP ENOUGH, AND SMOOTH EVEN TONE WITH ABSOLUTELY NO RASP OR NASTY SOUNDS!!! I RECOMMEND THIS 100 FOR ALL MODEL MUSTANGS IT'S THE BEST MID PIPE EVER!!!!

    Awesome Sound

Wow! this mid pipe complimented my Pypes Violator. I have friends that went with Headers and mid pipe. They are impressed with my exhaust sound It's as good if not better then the header set up. You can hear the combustion from the cylinders has they fire same effect you get with long tubes. You wont be disappointed if you go with the Mac Pro Chamber.

Good as long as it fits

All in all good product in the end, getting it on was not easy the hangers sat too far apart and the driver side where it bolts to the headers wasn't the right size I had the bend the bolts from the headers closer together so I could tighten it down without a major exahaust leak if it were made better it'd had been an easy 1-2 hour job but after about 10 hours I got it on well enough, well worth it as long as you don't run into the same problem

    Happy Camper!

After long debating whether or not to buy the off road pro chamber I finally did and installed it at my buddy's shop. When I went to pick the cat up after work I asked him if indeed it was louder, and the expression on his face was priceless. The sound is awesome! I only had the MAC axlebacks previous to the install and it sounded nice already, but with the off-road prochamber, it's a different beast. The first day driving it I had two different people asking me about it and I always catch people staring or turning their heads. I love it.
