Will this fit a 2001 Cobra with MAC Longtubes? Other sites that sell this pipe way it will fit 99-04 GT, Cobra, and Mach 1's that have Mac Longtube headers... so will it fit my 01 Cobra? Does AM only say it fits the 99-04 GT's only because that's the only car they carry MAC LT headers for? I want to buy this pipe from AM, but not if It won't fit my new headers.... thanks!

bmabbott

  • It sure will fit a 2001 Cobra with MAC LT headers. I have a 99 Cobra and this part fit with LT headers. The MAC website says the same. AM, please update your fitment!

Do the MIL Eliminators fit this? This product doesn't have a drop down menu to add the MIL Eliminators. So I wasn't sure if they would fit?

  • Yes they do but a tuner would be a better choice

I have an '04 Mach 1 with BBK long tubes (15330). Will this fit?

MillerTime

  • The MAC Off-road Pro Chamber Mid Pipe (99-04 GT, Cobra w/ Long Tube Headers) will not bolt up with the BBK Ceramic Long Tube Headers (99-04 Cobra, Mach 1). When buying long tube headers you will want to match the same brand header as mid-pipe. We would recommend getting the BBK Off-Road X-Pipe (96-04 4.6L w/ Long Tube Headers) http://www.americanmuscle.com/bbk-offroad-shorty-xpipe-9604v8.html

    Love the NOTE

I wanted a little more muscle sound and after a lot of youtube video's I decided this was the one. After the install I was more than amazed with the note. Not bad with the stock flowmaster but I am thinking of borla atak.

    Loudness depends on your mufflers

Installed these on my 02 GT vert. when I had the MAC LTs installed. The car is louder than stock, but with the Flowmasters (I think they're either Delta flow 40s or 50s) the car growls a little bit, but not as loud as I want. Next order, I'm getting the Super 40 cat back, that should wake her up!

Smooth and Soft Idle, yet aggresive acceleration.

Recently I swapped my car from it's stock 3.8 to a 2000 GT motor. Motor is stock but cars suspension and exhaust is complete. That being said I cannot attest for the difference between stock sound of a 4.6 GT and what my car sounds like, but I don't care because it sounds great. Matched this prochamber with the MAC longtubes and a flowmaster catback and wow great sound. The car is quiet below 2500 rpm and at idle but above that and watch out. Now I've had an off road h pipe and it was very loud especially in the mid range, but this pipe is not as loud yet the torque is always there in any gear. It is not that loud and is a little bit more pricy, however I love the sound of the MAC products so I guess you can say I'm biased. I will post my video below if AM accepts. Again this motor is stock except for K&N and above exhaust. Would def recommend, but if you want a little louder off road x or h may be your ticket, but I still think this one is great and has an amazing sound.

    Best sounding mid-pipe

Didn't want X-pipe because it's to raspy and didn't want H-pipe and not gain any power. This is just PERFECT, great sounding and decently loud but the note is amazing and very unique. Must buy, only took 30 minutes to install.

Great Product, Install was very easy for a DIY mechanic. Bought these with a set of MAC Long Tube Headers and loving the Sound. Not very Loud to but you can hear the rumble.

    This vs X-pipe...

My perspective between the two because both were on the car. Ran the xpipe on my Mach for about 1500 miles. While loud and obnoxiously cool, at times there was too much rasp for me. Idle revs gave me goose bumps. Hard acceleration, it screamed. The rasp during normal acceleration got to me though unfortunately. The pro chamber toned it down more than I was expecting but still plenty loud when going, taking away the hard rasp. Wish there were a more definitive video between the two to make a better initial decision. Flowmaster backing Mac longtubes and pro chamber.

    good sound (mac headers only)

Gives a great sound. No rasp. (Must use with Mac headers only!!) I have bbk LT and nowhere does it say wont it fit other brands. I learned the hard way. I had to fab the prochamber to fit. Worth it you wont be like every other mustang on the road.
