This product came without installation Instructions and without them you only get one chance to get it right. If you don't get it right you will have to buy a new dip stick and try again if you wish.

Does it completely replace existing handle? My original plastic handle has been snapped off at the metal lip. Will this handle work as a replacement?

Easy to install but does take some minor effort

    April 01, 2014

I have purchased the entire set of these and recommend them all. This cover is meant to fit over and using the current handle. You will need to cut the current handle 5/8 inches up from bottom of the current lip, so you are cutting off the top of current handle loop. You will also need a drill, hex set, (to remove And then attach new handle), a utility saw, a file and a vise will help hold steady. Bottom line, it does not take much to install, but does not simply fit over current handle . If you search internet you can find instructions. Here is one set I found: Tools Required: - Hand Saw - Razor Blade - 5/32 Drill Bit and Drill - Allen Key Set - Ruler STEP 1. Measure from the base of the dipstick handle up 5/8” and mark the handle for cutting. STEP 2. Using a small hand saw, cut the top of the handle off where you previously marked it and trim the sides to be square in shape. STEP 3. Using the handle for reference, mark the factory handle for drilling. STEP 4. Using a 5/32 drill bit, drill a hole for the retaining screw to pass through. STEP 5. Slide the t-handle over the factory handle and insert the retaining screw into place to hold the two halves together.

    Mustang Chrome Oil Handle

    December 05, 2014

Easy to modify and install. I recommend using a Dremel tool to modify your original dipstick handle. It adds a nice touch to the engine compartment and at a great price, it's a must have.

I have not yet installed this component of the "Billet" set that I ordered. The other components from the set have been installed and look great.

    Install

    March 19, 2014

Wasn't as simple as it sounded. Couldn't make a mistake for sure. I managed to twist the dip stick so the logo showed better and it looks great. My suggestion would be take you time and it'll turn out great....don't rush it.
