Hey, what's up, guys? I'm Ryan from American Trucks, and today I'm here with the MBRP three-inch installer series dual exhaust system, fitting your 2004 to 2008 F-150 with a 5.4 liter Triton. This is for the F-150 owner that is looking to upgrade or replace that factory exhaust for a little more power and sound at a very affordable price. This is perfect for the truck owner that is looking for the symmetry of a dual exhaust and really isn't trying to spend too much money on a new system. This is a very easy bolt-on upgrade that's really gonna increase that flow and wake your truck up. This is made from heavy-duty mandrel bent tubing for a direct fit and has an aluminized coating that's gonna provide some corrosion resistance. This comes as a complete kit with everything needed to install, making for a very quick installation, and it even reuses some of the factory hangers. This is your most affordable option on the site as far as these systems go when compared to others of the same design. And at just over $400, I think this is a great system to go with and definitely the most bang for your buck. Now, as far as loudness goes, on a scale of one to five, I'm gonna rate this a strong three out of five as this thing is pretty aggressive and gives a nice deep tone as well as a very throaty exhaust note. Now, as far as the install goes, I'm gonna give this two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter since you can install this in about two hours with basic hand tools. However, you may need to trim that intermediate pipe depending on your bed and cab configuration. Now, with that being said, let's hop into the install.Tools required for this install: safety gloves, safety glasses, penetrating lubricant, 3/8 drive impact, 15-millimeter socket, 9/16 socket, 5/16 Allen key, 1/2 inch wrench, Sharpie, cutoff wheel, sawzall chop saw, flathead screwdriver, tape measure, and a pry bar. So there's two ways that you can do this. You can do this on the ground, or if you have access to a lift, you can do it on a lift. We have ours on a lift, not only to give you a better idea, but we're gonna try to get this whole exhaust system out in one chunk. If you are doing this on the ground, most likely you have to cut this tail section off as you won't be able to get the exhaust up and over the axle. So the first thing we're gonna do is we're gonna start off by spraying our band clamp and all of our hangers with some lubricant and then we're gonna try to get this thing out.First, start here at the back of the wide pipe. Since our whole exhaust extends from here back, we're gonna loosen this clamp using a 15-millimeter socket. So now that we have that clamp loose, the next I'm gonna do is slide this whole exhaust system back. Now, we are taking this out in one chunk, so I would recommend having a friend grab the other side. We're just gonna stick a pry bar in here and try to slide all these out of their mounts. So before I show you how to get this system installed, I wanna take a moment just to tell you a little bit about what this exhaust is made of, what it's gonna do for your truck, and how it compares to your stock one. Those of you looking for an aftermarket system are after three things: an increase in power, sound, and appearance. This is an affordable option to give you all three of those.Your stock system is specifically designed to reduce sound. There's a very large restrictive muffler that is not very good for flow. If you're looking for something that's gonna flow a lot better and give you the symmetry of a dual exhaust, this system is a great option for you. This has three-inch piping up to the hi-flow muffler. And then after that, it splits off into two individual pipes that are two-and-a-half inches in diameter. This whole system is made from steel but it has an aluminized coating. MBRP does a very good job at coating this whole system and they add an additional coating to the weld seams and areas that are susceptible to rust. So for those of you on the East Coast that are worried about those conditions and all that salt and humidity that may affect the integrity of your exhaust system, you may wanna look at a higher quality stainless steel system that MBRP also offers. For those of you that aren't really worried about that or are just looking for an affordable system, this is a great option to go with. MBRP finishes off this whole system with nice polished tips, giving your truck a very stylish appearance, and this whole thing is designed to be a direct bolt-on for your truck, even reusing the factory hangers. So with that being said, let's show you how this gets installed and what it sounds like on the truck. So before we get this pipe installed, we need to cut it to the correct length. MBRP has all the measurements detailed out in their instructions. And for our SuperCab with a six-and-a-half foot bed, we need to measure 37 inches and cut that. So we're gonna do that now. So we're gonna put our gloves on and our safety glasses, and we're gonna cut this pipe. Now we're gonna take our extension pipe, the uncut side that is narrow. We're gonna slide that over our Y-pipe. Make sure that you put a clamp on there. And we'll let that hang and we'll get our muffler on.We're gonna take our clamp with a hanger on there. We're gonna slide this onto this pipe with our hanger facing towards the back of the truck. And we're gonna take our muffler, pick that up, slide it on. We're gonna support that with a pole jack. Now we're gonna take this hanger, we're gonna slide it forward and get it into our hanger mount. So we're gonna go back up to the front and use a 9/16 socket just to tighten these two clamps up. That way, our exhaust doesn't shift around. So, next, we're gonna do the over-the-axle section for the passenger side. This is gonna have a sharp kink here. We're gonna send this band over the axle. So we're gonna do that and install one of these clamps. Once you get that into the hanger, we're gonna install our clamp and connect the rest of our pipe. So next, we're gonna place another clamp on the muffler. Then we'll install our driver side over the axle pipe. This has a hanger on it and it is going to slide into the rubber mount on the crossmember. So before we get the rest of this driver-side axle piping on, and since we don't have a hanger on this side of the frame, MBRP provides us with a hanger and the hardware to install. So we're gonna have a little black J-clip. You have a square hole and a round hole up there. We're gonna insert this J-clip through the square hole, into the round hole, and then we're gonna attach this bracket up there. So we're gonna install our tailpipe section, making sure that we slide that onto our exhaust and into this new hanger. I want to take one of our clamps and install it over the pipe. We're gonna go around tightening everything up and adjust the exhaust as needed. We're gonna use a 9/16 to tighten all these clamps up. Make sure that the pipes are fully inserted inside of each other before you tighten the clamps up. To tighten this hanger up, we're gonna use a 1/2 inch ratchet. So once you get the exhaust all adjusted and where you like it, the last thing we're gonna do is install the tips. Now, you're gonna have a large bolt here. We're gonna use a 5/16 Allen key to tighten that up and get them where we want.So after you have this system fully installed, you wanna drive your truck around for a little while and then recheck all those clamps. However, that's gonna wrap up my review and install. For more videos like this, check us out at americantrucks.com.
