Review & Install Video

Hey everyone, Justin with AmericanMuscle.com here, and this is my general overview of McLeod’s Street Pro clutch, available for all 86-2010 Mustang GTs. Before I really start breaking down this clutch I just want to remind you guys to subscribe to our YouTube channel if you haven’t done so already simply by clicking on the banner below, or on the AM logo up in the corner at any point during this video. McLeod’s been around for over 40 years and are no strangers to the Mustang world, in fact they’ve designed clutches and drive line products for both Roush and Saleen, and even supplied flywheels for the Cobra R and 03 and 04 terminator Cobras. The Street Pro was designed to be a factory replacement or a stage 1 equivalent, holding roughly 350-400 horsepower, and 450-500 ft/lbs of torque depending on your application. If you would like to step it up a little bit McLeod does offer a Super Street Pro clutch, which of course will offer a little bit more power and torque. Either way if you’re not sure what clutch would be best for your setup, don’t be afraid to get in touch with one of our Mustang experts. The street pro features an organic based sprung hub disc, along with their signature red pressure plate, which together will give you a pedal strength slightly heavier than stock, with better clamping load, and holding capabilities. The clutch also includes a new pilot bearing and alignment tool, which will be needed for the install. McLeod’s street pro clutch is offered with a standard 10 spline option which is something a majority of Mustang owners with stock transmission will use, however if you’ve upgraded your input shaft in your transmission, you’ll be happy to know that McLeod does offer the street pro clutch in a 26 spline option, which is something other clutch manufacturers don’t always offer. As for the install, well we typically call any clutch job about 4 hours from start to finish. If you’ve never dropped a transmission before we definitely recommend getting this one done by your local shop, however if this is just another day in the garage for you, leave yourself a nice Saturday or Sunday afternoon in the garage to get the job done. This clutch is just one of the many McLeod options we carry here at AmericanMuscle.com so if you’d like to check out more of their clutch and flywheel lineup, including some of their twin disc stuff, all you have to do is simply click the link below to head back to the product page, if you’re not there already. The Street Pro clutch from McLeod would make a great factory replacement or stage 1 upgrade for those of you with stock or lightly modified Mustangs, and don’t forget you can find yours right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Ideal Upgrade Replacement. If you drive your Mustang hard, it's easy to burn out the weak stock clutch. Capable of holding up to 400hp McLeod's Street Pro Clutch is the ideal upgrade replacement for daily driven high performance Mustangs that need a good reliable everyday clutch.

Organic Disc. Featuring an organic faced friction disc; this McLeod Street Pro Clutch provides a slightly heavier pedal effort than stock along with good holding capability making it an excellent factory replacement clutch.

Application. This McLeod Street Pro Clutch is designed for the 2005-2010 GT and Bullitt Mustangs with a TR3650 manual 10-spline transmission.

Specifications:
  • Disc Dimensions: 11" X 10T X 1-1/16"
  • 10 Spline
  • Horse Power Rating: Up to 400
  • Torque Rating: Up to 500
  • Includes: pressure plate, disc, pilot tool and spacer for OEM slave cylinder
Technical Notes: The 2005-2010 Mustang uses a concentric slave cylinder instead of a conventional throwout bearing. Therefore this clutch kit will not include a throwout bearing.

Technical Note. Because Ford made changes to the Mustang GT and Bullitt in mid year of 2001, be sure to check and see what kind of transmission type you have before ordering.

    Nice and smoothe

This clutch is nice, it's smoother than the stage 3 spec that I had. I chose this clutch because it's made out of the same material as the stock clutch and is built for daily driving. The stage 3 I had was and still is good but you can't slip it. Not only that but my pilot bearing faild. If it wasn't for my pilot bearing I probably wouldn't of had the opportunity to experience this clutch. One pro I really liked about this clutch is that it comes with a pilot bushing! Ford doesn't even have a pilot bushing for our s197 gt's. All and all if you want a clutch you can daily drive with this is the clutch to go with. That or any single disc organic clutch would be fine as well. Just be sure to go to ford and get the slave/throw out bearing and or pilot bearing. Never use after market bearings (that's where I messed up with my stage 3)

    McLeod Clutch

Night and day difference over my oem clutch! You can not go wrong with McLeod. Most definitely recommend if you're wanting the next step over OEM.

    Can feel a difference

Am still in the break-in time, and had to bleed clutch few times to get right, but can feel a big difference, and feels much better, tighter and stronger than the original (which had no issues and didn't need replacing at all, thought I was having a slave/throw-out issue and decided if going that deep, might as well go all the way), so far am totally glad I did.
