Description


Improve Overall Performance. Improve your V8-powered Mustang's off-the-line responsiveness with a set of 4.30 gears from Motive. Steeper gears get you into your power band faster for improved acceleration and lower times. A set of 4.30 gears are a great choice for the performance-oriented Pony that still needs to be driveable on the street.

Superior Construction & Precision Fit. These Motive ring and pinon gears are CNC cut from high grade 8620 gear steel, and factory lapped for precision fit. Each set is hardness tested prior to leaving the factory to ensure the highest quality. Unlike other brands, Motive Gears do not have a reputation for "gear whine".

Recommended Upgrade. Changing the rear axle gear ratio will throw off the calibration of your Mustangs speedometer, but a Ford Racing Speedometer Recalibration Tool (94-10) is an inexpensive way to fix this issue.

Application. This Motive Performance Plus Ring and Pinion Gear set will fit all 1986 to 2014 V8 Mustangs including GT, Bullitt, Mach 1, Cobra and the 11-14 V6 Mustangs equipped with the 8.8" rear end. A master bearing kit is recommended by most installers, especially on high mileage vehicles, see drop down option above.

Attention 2010 and newer Mustang Owners. Starting in 2010 Ford changed the inner rear gear pinion bearing in all 8.8" equipped Mustangs. Because of this you will require a new 8.8" rear gear pinion bearing (Ford part# 9L3Z-4630-A) for proper installation, please see drop down option above.Technical Note. Installation costs will vary, but a good rule of thumb is between $250 and $300. Be sure to work with a reliable shop that you trust for installations. You can also save money on your installation labor by having your Trac-Lok rebuilt at the same time as your gears are installed. A master bearing kit is recommended by most installers, especially on high mileage vehicles, see drop down option above.

    4.30 or 4.10

    I HAVE A 99 MUSTANG GT 5-SPEED. FOR THE LAST 6 YEARS I HAD 4.10 GEARS. I JUST SWITCHED TO 4.30. IT IS A FANTASTIC CHANGE. HWY RPM GOES UP. SO, DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT AT 2500RPM IN 5TH AND HAVE A BLAST ON THE STREETS WITH THE 4.30S. WORTH THE PRICE FOR WHAT FEELS LIKE A LOT MORE POWER AND REALLY FIERCE ACCELERATION!

    Wake Up Call!!!

    If you are on the fence to go with 4.10\'s or 4.30\'s with your mustang (manual). I say go all out with 4.30\'s. At 70 mph my tach rides at just a hair under 2.5k. The car strait up scoots. (Take your time with install) No gear howl to report. Great product. (Bearing kit w/shims is a must.) Great buying experience. Have and will buy from American Muscle again!!!

    Motive 4.30's

    Switched from 4.10s, and like these even better. I can only imagine how much I'd love them if I was still cruising around with 3.27's.

    Great set of gears

    I installed these gears when I rebuilt the rear in my car. I love how they get me in the power band quicker and the launch off the line is awesome.
