I'm live in Colorado, is really cold in winter, that's affect the aluminum tank?

pacman

  • The Moroso Aluminum Coolant Expansion Tank is stronger than the factory plastic tank, and the cold will apply less stress to the expansion tank when compared to stock. The cold will not change the functionality of this tank.

would this tank fit a 95 5.0?

Tino

  • This Moroso Expansion Tank will not fit properly on you '95 5.0L. We do carry an Expansion Tank by Canton that is designed for your Mustang though. I've included a link below for you if you'd like to take a look!

Question Resolved

This looks to be pretty high. Can this be used with a stock 98 hood? It looks like it would hit. Also, is it ideal for a daily driver with not really any engine mods. Thanks! Nick

Nick

  • The Moroso Aluminum Coolant Expansion Tank (96-04 4.6L) will work with the factory hood and would not be a problem for a daily driver.

    Doesn't fit

I installed this on my 97GT and now my hood won't close properly. I don't think I did anything wrong I unhooked my old one and replaced the new one in the same spot. I need a cowl hood now. It looks GREAT under the hood next to my supercharger. It sticks up higher and holds more coolant than the oem

    Great product

I really like this product. Installation was very simple, and fitment was great. No coolant level sensor in my 04 cobra, so that was a non issue for me. My only request is for moroso to design a stock size cap that doesn't look like the stock one. Thanks for a great product.

    its purty

Good looking tank. I have a Cobra so dont need a level sensor. Install no problem, even over my thick Mishimoto radiator. Its heavier than stock of course, and you cant see the coolant level, which is a problem.

    Great piece

Combined with the radiator cover this looks excellent! Although the only down side it doesn't have a spot to put the coolant level sensor in. That would of been good to know, but still wouldn't affect my decision and i would get it. It has good quality welds too.

Only a bit more $$ than OEM.

This piece replaced the original plastic tank that looked suspect to me while overhauling my coolant system. Install was a snap and it looks outstanding!

    Great upgrade, easy to install

This Moroso coolant tank is pretty awsome. It dresses up the engine bay, and gives a good aftermarket look to your ride and is a great starter mod. I would like to note that this is aluminum, so when your engine is at running temp it will be warm. There also isn't a coolant level sensor, but it doesn't bother me. If you're wanting to do this kind of car work you should be checking your fluids frequently anyways

    Looks solid.

Bought this because my plastic one from 2001 got brittle and cracked when I was swapping my motor. I really like this peice. It's solid, good welds and looks really nice. There are complaints about the spot for the sensor, but I didn't have a sensor and it made no difference.

    Beautiful, high-quality tank. Impressive welds

I bought this to replace my worn, cracked factory expansion tank and I couldn't be happier with the results. This tank is a very simple installation that will take you about 30 minutes with a few simple hand tools. The tank looks absolutely gorgeous and has some very nice welds. Once installed, this tank is sure to get some attention. The tank does not include new hardware, so I would recommend getting some stainless steel nuts to keep everything looking clean. This tank does not include a radiator cap and the factory one doesn't look very good installed so I ordered a billet one. There is no spot on this tank for the coolant level sensor, so be sure to just unplug it and tie it up somewhere. I see a lot of people complaining about that but to be honest, if you don't check your fluids that often or go under the hood modding that often, why are you buying something like this in the first place? Overall, this tank fits perfectly and looks stunning. A must have if you're looking to clean up under the hood and this tank holds up well to heat if you've got some serious mods.
