The Moroso Main Cap Girdle fits 289 and 302 V8's with 2 bolt mains and it works with any standard Melling M68 or M68HV Oil Pump.

    quality part, no machining needed, made for Fox body

    In the world of main girdles that fit Fox oil pans, this Moroso unit beats down the rest. It saves you the cost of an align-hone, it bolts right on, and it clears the oil pump and Fox oil pan. This girdle does not require the block to be align-honed, unlike the very expensive DSS unit. It uses ARP bolts, which use the same torque specs as the factory bolts, unlike the DSS studs which crush the main caps out of shape (which then requires you to spend hundreds on an align-hone, cleaning, new cam bearings and plugs, etc.). The cheap Ebay steel girdles have a big halo around the oil pump that you have to cut off, but Moroso machines the girdle to clear this already. Oil pump pickup tube mounting tab needs minor adjustment, but nothing this car guy couldn't handle. Only glitch would be if you have the 1991 and newer oil pan and pickup, you need the older 1990 or newer ones or an aftermarket pan. Ford notched in the pan in the middle "belly" section and lowered the tube to fit the T-bird chassis, but the tube is too low for any girdle, no matter the brand. I also recommend using a factory bolt under the oil pump instead of the ARP bolt, so you have clearance. Highly recommend this product.
